Chapter Three
Chapter Three
~~Two Weeks Later~~
It has been two weeks since Matt and I have kissed. We tried to avoid each other much as possible. I think it is for the best to ignore him. But it is hard to ignore him when you have almost all your classes with that dick face. But other than him, everything has been going smooth. Carter and I have become very close. We text all the time and FaceTime each other all the time. Bailey likes that I am making more friends. She keeps saying “I told you parties are good.” All the freaking time now. Just because I made a new friend, does not mean that. Carter is actually taking me into the city right now. School let out and now we are heading to the city. Chicago is like everything. We pull into the parking lot of the Water Tower Place mall. This place is so big. I never been here before, but I heard it was amazing. We walked into the inside and I could hear like angles in my head like they just opened a box and there was treasure in my head. She smiled at me and grabbed onto my arm. We go up the elevator and headed to Macy’s. “Macy’s is like my favorite.” Carter informed. I laughed and I watched her shop.
We spent about five hours shopping and now in the food court. I told her to not buy me food, but she did anyways. This girl is just like Bailey, won’t take no for an answer. “Did you see any cute guys?” Carter asked me while giggling. “Yeah, there was a few.” I responded awkwardly. “Oliver shut up! There was TONS not A FEW!” She shouted at me and through a French fry at my face. I laugh and throw it back. I watched the crowd and watched all them walk bye so fast. I heard Carter going on about something but I ignored her and watched all the shoppers. Until I see someone from my past. My eyes widen and instantly I start having a panic attack. That can’t be. No! “Oliver?!” Carter shouted trying to calm me down. “Someone help!” Carter shouted. People rush over to me. My panic attack kept getting worse. “Move! I am a doctor!” A guy said. Well he is a hot doctor. Hello there. “You are having a panic attack. Breathe in, breathe out. Just breathe. Think of something positive and good in your life. Something you love. Block out what ever got you feeling this way and just breathe.” The doctor said grabbing onto my hands. Tears started to fall from my eyes. “Just breathe.” He kept saying over and over. I finally calmed down and the panic attack ended. “Good job.” He says and hugs me. “You are going to be ok.” He said and patted my back. People were staring. I started to feel uncomfortable. “T-thank y-you.” I stutter. He nods and walks away. “Are you ok?” She asked me. I nodded. “Can we go home?” I asked nervously. “Yeah, of course.” She says we walked to the elevator. The walk to the car was silent. We just did not talk at all. Soon as she drove off, she finally said something. “Why did you have a panic attack?” She asked me. I froze. I can’t tell her what happened. Or should I? So she would understand why? I sigh. “I think it would be better if we go to the library so I can show you.” I informed. She turns to me and raised an eyebrow with confusion. She nodded and drove to the library. This is the easiest way to tell her. We pull into the parking lot of the library and got out. We walked to the archive section and I looked for “May 5th, 2004” I browsed throw the archives. “Why are we here? I hate libraries.” Carter asked. I ignored her and kept searching. BINGO! FOUND IT! Front paper. I pointed at the scree and she scoots over. She started to read the front of the paper. She gasps. “Please tell me this is not you….” She says. “It is.” I whispered. She started to tear up. “Did they put the guy on death row?” She asked me. “I just seen him in that mall today.” I informed her. “HE SHOULD BE IN PRISON!” She shouted. People hushed her and she rolled her eyes. She grabbed my hand and walked me to her car. We got in and drove off. “Why is he out?!” She hissed at me. “I don’t know Carter!” I hissed back. “So you were kidnaped, raped, beaten and left for dead?” She asked me. “Well, that is not the whole story.” I informed her. “Well spill.” She demanded. “When I was eleven years old, I was walking home from school because I missed the bus. This guy pulled beside me and said that my mom sent me to pick me up. I got into the car. He took me to this house and knocked me out. When I awoke, I was naked and chained up by my neck, wrist, and ankles. I was in so much fear and shocked that something was happening. This guy came back in and rapped me. He rapped me over and over again. Five days I was tortured and rapped. I was not fed at all. Only got water. Then he beat me. I had a busted lip, broken ribs, and bleeding from everywhere. He left me for dead under a bridge. Four days later, I was barely alive when the cops found me.” I informed her. She had tears rolling down her face. “If people only knew your story, they would be so much nicer Oliver. I can’t believe that happened to you. I couldn’t even imagine what you went through.” Carter says with tears coming from her eyes. “It’s fine. Really. I am fine with being the unpopular kid.” I laughed and so did she. We drove to my house and she drops me off. “See you later darling.” She says and drives off. I walked back into my house and my mom was sitting on the couch. “We have a problem.” I informed her. She turned her head to me. “What is it sweetie?” She asked. “He is back.”
