Chapter Eighteen

~~Two weeks later~~

I just got out of the hospital two days ago and fully recovered. Well not completely recovered. But I am still there. Matt is coming over to dinner tonight at my house. My dad went back to Paris last night. He did not want to leave me. But I told him I would be fine and that he better call me every day. And I will call him as well. I insisted he would go so he can go back to his job. Which is the mafia. I wasn’t happy about him being the mafia. But…. It runs in the family. Who knows, maybe one day I will take his place. You just never know. You live one day at a time. Like today is your last day. Faye and Gretchen came to visit me in the hospital. Talking about going from making fun of me to sobbing like little girls, that is what they did. Gretchen mostly. Because she left me alone to close up. I told her it was not her fault. I closed up before. No big deal at all. Matt told me he had a surprise for me when he gets here. And said a surprise for the whole family. I had no idea what he was talking about. But I am so excited. For no reason what so ever. Sometimes Matt confuses me….. But that is because I confuse him as well. Considering everything. I would confuse myself also. A psychologist started seeing me. She is actually really cool. We talk about everything. I thought she would be a terrible shrink. But she wasn’t. I love her to death. The best damn shrink anyone could have. And that is the dang truth. The doorbell rings and I jump off the couch and opened the door. I jumped into Matt’s arms. He laughed and caught me. I crashed my lips onto mine. “I missed you.” I informed. “It’s only been 6 hours since you saw me silly.” He puts me down and shuts the door. “So….. Six hours is too long.” I smiled. “Hi mom.” He tells my mom. She kissed him on the cheek. “How is my son’s boyfriend?” She asked him. “I am good. What about you?” He asked. “I am ok. Working a lot but I am good.” She smiled at him. “Dinner is done so sit at the table.” She demanded. We all sat at the table. We all talked about stuff that are stupid and irrelevant the whole time at dinner. Matt turns to me and smiled. What is up with his nugget? I raised an eyebrow. “Hey mom, I was wondering if I can take Oliver to my parents beach house in Malibu for the week. You know, just to get away. I think Oliver needs some time away. It would be good for him.” He asked my mom. What? Malibu? He had a beach house where the celebrities live?! WHAT IS THIS?! I guess I do have a sugar daddy. “I think that would be so good for him. He really needs that. I appreciate it.” Mom smiled at Matt. I smiled at the both of them. “Really?” I asked in excitement. “So not fair!” Ana shouts and so does Liv. “Don’t worry girls. Would you guys like to go for a ride? I want to show you something. It is important. I will clean up the dishes when we come back in a few.” Matt asked. I am so confused. Is this the surprise or? “Alright let’s go.” Mom says and we all walk outside. “I did not know you had a range rover?” I asked him. “I do. But since you are my boyfriend, it is yours too.” He said and we got in. My sisters and mom sat in the back. “You mean I get to drive your cars?” I asked in excitement. He shrugged his shoulders. “I love you so obviously.” He says. I smile big. “You have a keeper.” Liv awes. Mom starts laughing. We drive for about five minutes and we pull in front of a gate. He punches in a code and the gate opens. “What are we doing here?” I asked. “Shut up and Shh.” He demanded. I rolled my eyes and we pull in front of this huge house. Not as big as Carter’s. But big… The drive way had is a wrap around and in the middle laid a fountain. “Is this your house?” Liv and Ana asked. “No. Mine is way bigger.” He says concededly. I chuckle. We get out and Matt stops us. He look over at my mom. “I bought this house…. For you mom. And I paid all the bills off from your last home and the bills for this one is paid off as well. So no more working long hour jobs. You can just work short hour jobs.” Matt tells my mom. My sisters scream. My mom covers her mouth and starts crying. “Are you kidding me? This is a joke right?” Mom asked and looked towards me. “No mom it is not a joke. You are like a mom to me. So I want to treat you like family.” He tells her. She breaks down and cries. Matt hugged her and she cried even harder. I can’t believe he done this. He has such a good heart. He would help anyone. I even started crying. My mom kisses Matt on his forehead and cheeks. “I-I-I-C-Can’t believe this.” Mom stutters while crying. “And…” He opens the garage door and a New Red Tahoe is in the parking spot labeled “Mom” Then to the left another one labeled “Ana” and “Liv”. There was two BMW convertibles in their spots. They start screaming and run to the cars. “You shouldn’t have done this. This is too much Matt.” My mom says while crying. I have the best boyfriend in the world. He just bought my mom everything she always wanted. And my sisters a car. “Don’t drive those until you are sixteen!” Matt demanded. They nodded while looking at the car. “I don’t want you to work another day in your life mom. You worked hard supporting Oliver, Liv and Ana. That is hard work for a single mother. My parents don’t even take care of me and my sister. You are a true mother and a strong woman. A woman like you that worked a lot should never work that much again.” He hugs her and my mom’s hugs him back while crying again. This is the best day of all of our lives. I smile at Matt and he smiled back at me.
