Sans - "Alright people, we have eight hours until Katsuki is done with a modeling shoot! Mina, decorations! Denki and Eiji, present table! Grillby, food! Todoroki, thanks for coming, ice for the drinks! Hanta and Tenya, stop making out, alcohol! Hitoshi, music and games! This party will be amazing, so help me Toby Fox, get to work people!"

Sans stalked into the kitchen and a sense of finality and purpose. Grillby chuckled as he thought back to every birthday Sans planned in the Underground.

Denki - "Why is he making such a big deal over this? It's just blasty boi's birthday."

Grillby - "Sans always took party planning very seriously. Honestly, if our home town was not as close knit as it was, Sans's parties would be the hottest events in trident news. I'm so happy he still enjoys planning them. I'm preparing some virgin cocktails, no alcohol, especially when there's no adults."

Sans - "Buzzkill!"

Sans's muffled yell from the kitchen made almost everyone laugh.

Sans - "Stop laughing and get to work!"

Mina - "You heard him! Let's make Blasty's birthday a good one!"

Sans smiled in the kitchen as he dunked thick strips of raw chicken in a marinade of lime, chili oil, soy sauce, a little sugar, and MSG. That was gonna sit for an hour before being fried. Grillby was making a big platter of bacon wrapped jalapenos to be broiled later on. Sans melted down some baking chocolate over a double boiler and made homemade caramel. Chocolate dipped potato chips, chocolate covered pretzels with caramel drizzle, and caramel popcorn.

Sans - "Grillbz, is the -"

Sans was handed a muffin tin lined with custom made black liners with little orange explosions.

Sans - "Read my mind."

Sans started on chocolate cupcakes with a whipped cinnamon, buttercream icing. He's never focused so intensely on cooking anything before this. Grillby was watching with a smirk. He acted the same when he was in love so many centuries ago. Those were the last good memories he had of his love, and he doesn't like to dwell on them in order to keep them as pure as possible.

Eijirou was breaking out into cold sweats as the lights flickered and eventually shut off. Denki thought he'd be a cool boyfriend by charging his dead phone. He sneezed half way through and short circuited his and Sans's house. Hitoshi kept his short circuited boyfriend and kept him from stumbling around.

Sans - "Why are my ovens down?!"

Sans stormed into the dining room with a pan of raw cupcake batter.

Hitoshi - "Sorry man, Denki was charging my phone and sneezed."

Sans took a couple deep breaths. His finger pinched the bridge of his nose.

Sans - "Okay, it's fine. I can fix this. Hanta, take care of Denki. Todoroki, with me in the kitchen, everyone else, open the windows or light candles, just get light in here."

Todoroki happily followed Sans into the kitchen. His left hand heated up so the batter could "bake."

Sans - "Sorry for using you like this man."

Todoroki - "Please, don't worry about it. I'd be more than happy to help you, always."

Sans - "I really appreciate it. I'm sure Katsuki would too, he just wouldn't admit it."

Todoroki frowned at the motion of his rival.

Todoroki - "Can I ask you a personal question?"

Sans froze in his "cooking" and hesitantly continued without eye contact.

Sans - "You can, but I might not answer."

Todoroki - "Why did you start dating Bakugo? He's hot-headed, aggressive, arrogant, impulsive, and insults everyone. He called you a freak when school started."

Sans - "Well, I didn't expect to date him. He's also very defiant and hates being told what to do. But his soul was beautifully pure and filled with righteousness, bravery, and justice. At that exchange, he asked me out after hero training. I don't know why I said yes, it just popped out of my mouth.

He cares a lot about everyone around him but hates feeling weak so he puts up a front to keep others at bay. The others love him the way he is and I do too. He's sweet, thoughtful, beautiful, likes my jokes, and he takes great care of Asriel when I'm not around. I'm so grateful and I somehow fall for him more every day."

Todoroki looked utterly defeated. The lights flicked back on, making Sans's eyelights brim with happiness.

Todoroki - "I...I see. Hey I have to go, Fuyumi wanted to take me to see my mom."

Sans - "Oh, yeah sure, go. Have fun with your mom and sister."

Sans gave him a quick side hug before busying himself with the ovens. Todoroki left the house feeling utterly dejected. He nearly walked into a basketball sized dragon head with three cupcakes and a note.

Hey, thanks again for helping when the lights went out. Give one to your mom and sister. -sans the skeleton

Todoroki - "I'll wait for you. No matter how long it takes, I promise."

Todoroki tucked the little note into his breast pocket and left.

Katsuki - "Richter, why am I blindfolded?"

Sans - "Why not. Watch your step."

Sans helped Katsuki up the steps of his house. H

Katsuki was blindfolded with a scrap of black cloth Sans ripped from one of Eijirou's old shirts.

Sans - "Don't worry GZ, I won't let you walk into a wall."

Sans laughed a bit as he led his boyfriend to the dining room.

Katsuki - "You say that, but knowing you, you'd walk into the wall."

Katsuki's smirk was playful and the squad was grateful to see such a rare sight. Grillby was long gone with a thermos of ice water and a trashy romance novel.

Sans - "Okay, in 3, 2, 1 -"

"SURPRISE!"

Katsuki ripped the blindfold off and was speechless. The Kirishima dining room was beautifully decorated with pale orange, deep red, and bright yellow streamers, black balloons covered in starbursts, a fold-up table with eight presents, and the main dining table covered in delicious smelling food.

Sans stood off to the side smiling innocently and the others flocked around Katsuki. One song later (too loud by Eijirou and too much flare by Mina) they were tucking into the veritable feast.

Tenya - "Sans is an excellent cook. This is very high quality."

Eijirou - "Right? He's so cool."

Hitoshi - "Yeah, Sans pretty much planed the whole thing."

The boy in question was facefirst in his salad, snoozing away.

Eijirou - "He lasted longer than I thought. He didn't sleep at all last night. Spent it planning the food and cupcakes."

Katsuki grinned and let Sans lean on him as he slept.
