It's been 3 years since Arjun and Jai started their firm, and it has been doing exceptionally well...

Now they had a dedicated staff of 29 people, divided into 7 departments, each had their own Team leader/ Manager..

These Team of managers were headed by a General manager, who was supposed to report to the CEOs, Arjun and Jai, who were also the co founders, since the investment was made by Arjun and Jai's father, they were the legal owners of E market...

The CEOs were answerable to the Board of directors, who were basically investors of the company, and this board also had Naina's dad as one of the member...

The company was informally known as 'Local Flipkart' because they would deliver local handicrafts and other items from nearby shops to people's doorstep, and they operated via an App, called The EMA, which was developed by Jai and his team...

The office was located in a commercial locality, and operated on the 11th and 12th floor of a huge commercial building, however Arjun and Jai also brought the basement for the storage purposes..

Jai and Arjun had a common Assistant, Kabir Sharma, who was also Arjun's subordinate in his previous company, was mainly responsible to work with Jai for the App, but would also Assist Arjun in other things

Naina  worked for a sales firm for a year to gain experience in Mumbai, and now joined E market as sales head, whearas Rads was in charge for processing department..

Arjun's brothers too after completing their studies joined their brother to expand the business, so they currently worked as trainees to understand how things work in the firm

During the workhours, it would be a like a typical corporate office, where everyone's eyes were either glued to the screens or their faces dug into the files, but once they took a break, the office didn't feel different than Arjun and Naina's complex playground, where everybody would be chatting around and chasing each other in the corridors

However Arjun and Jai being the bosses refrained from behaving like children in front of the staff, they had a established a strict code of conduct for the staff, Naina - Rads, Adi - Sash hardly followed them ever, but the employees were scared of the bosses

However, both of them being the ladies men, were popular among the female staff of the company, the young women would try to find opportunities to talk to them, or do something for them

As a result Naina and Rad's closeness to both of them was disliked by many, and they were not so popular among the female employees

Arjun would flirt with women very oftenly now, which would hurt Naina initially, but she eventually made peace with the fact that he is not her possession so he can act the way he wants and so will she..

With passing time Naina got immune to reacting to the women's advances towards him or his reciprocation to them...

Arjun thought his crush on Naina was slowly fading and also he didnt react on any other man's presence near her now...

Both of them were aware of some connection between them, but to realise the depth of it, they were destined to pass through many hurdles, complications and shed many tears

Usual day in E market..

Naina was in the sales department block in the 12th floor, working with her team members on the sales report of the apparels ordered this month, and sorting them brandwise

They were supposed to sort every item e market sold/delivered this month and submit it to Arjun in 10 days and today they had to submit departmental progress to Jai

'Naina, ethnic sales are really high these days don't you think ? And we don't have any festivals around...' Shreya, her co worker said

'Yeah it's kinda surprising, why are ethnic sales so high during December...' Derek, her another co worker looks at the screen

Naina adjusted her specs and slightly scratched her head

'Maybe because, all the college fests are around, students tend to wear traditional at these times...' She suggested

'Yeah maybe, so this is what we say to the bosses if they ask ?' Shreya asks

'I don't think they are interested in why the sales are high ? They'll be asking us about the dip in casual wear sales, any idea about it ?' Naina asks her teammates, they nod in negative

'I am sure you can trick them and avoid these type of questions, you are their best friend afterall...' Rahul, another co worker says

'Do you remember what they did to me at the August's sales meeting ?' Naina raised her brows and the team mates chuckle

'They literally ripped me in pieces for irregularity in the electronics report and I was spared after a warning, you really think I am spared in the so called "Best friend quota" you guys think that exists ?' she exclaims and her team mates laugh

'They really are professionals when it comes to work, aren't they ?' Derek comments

'Truly...' Naina chuckles and gets back to work

Although she smiled remembering how Arjun apologised to her by taking her for a drive and treating her at her favorite restraunt and Jai took her to the bookstore and got her 5 new novels

Naina was like their lifeline in the office and elsewhere too, Arjun, Rads and Jai pampered her like she was their favorite kid, but even scolded her on her mistakes, for her to improve, anything wrong done to her and Rads were direct attack to them and everyone in the office knew that

'Okay gossip time !' Sneha one of Naina's colleague exclaims

'Uh huh, seems interesting...' Derek raised his brows

'Oh yes it is...' Shreya smirks

'Hey ! You know it too, how come I don't...' Naina whines

'Because you are Arjun Sir's informer...' Shreya rolls her eyes

'No she's not ! Derek is...' Rahul said and the girls glare at Derek

'A man has to save his job okay, and get incentives as well...' Derek shrugged his shoulders

'I won't say it in front of you...' Sneha huffs

'I already know what it is about...' Derek rolled his eyes

'Guys ! I hate suspense, please say it, Anyone of you...' Naina whines again

'Okay okay, the new girl in PR department...' Sneha begins

'Yeah, mini skirt Neha...' Shreya says

'Yep, she and Arjun sir went on a date yesterday...' Sneha exclaims and Naina hid her frown, she wasn't irritated, but a bit hurt, like always, she cursed herself for this

'Ooo... So we have a couple...' Naina fakes enthusiasm

'But why didn't she come today...' Shreya looks around

'Going on a date with the boss is surely an achievement, why wouldn't she brag, considering her nature, she is a show off...' Rahul says

'Here comes the twist children..' Derek grins

'What...?' Naina asks curiously

'She got fired...' Sneha completes his sentence

'What !' Naina, Rahul and Shreya exclaim

'Wow, dating the boss is risky...' Rahul comments

'Why ?' Naina asks

'Apparently she said something during the date that angered Arjun sir... He stormed off the restaurant, and Kabir was made to send a termination letter to her this morning...' Derek informs

'I wonder what she said...' Naina says

'I think it must be something related to you...' Shreya says

'No way...'

'Yeah, there is a possibility of that, Arjun sir gets pissed if he hears anything ill about you...' Derek said

'And Neha didn't like you...' Sneha says

'Why ?'

'Girl, any woman in this office, interested in Arjun sir romantically, will hate you, it's like a protocol...' Shreya said and Naina sighs

'I know that... Is that why you guys are being nice to me, because you don't like Arjun...' Naina asks Shreya and Sneha, while the guys chuckle

'I have accepted the fact that Arjun sir is way out of my league, so I am not even thinking about it....' Shreya says

'Hey, you are pretty...' Naina says

'You want me to hate you...?' Shreya raises her brows and Naina laughs

'I am happy with my boyfriend so no, not interested...' Sneha declares proudly and they fake cheer for her

'Guys ! I want the report today itself... Quit loitering around...' Jai scolds them and they realised he just came there and no one noticed

'Sorry sir...' They immediately apologised

'Naina, Rads needs you at her department downstairs in 5 minutes...' Jai says

'I'll be there sir...' Naina nods and Jai leaves

'Jai sir is also hot isn't he...' Shreya says

'He'll be happy to accept your proposal...' Derek says sarcastically

'Shut up..' Shreya hits him

'Go back to our sales this month guys we are supposed to meet Jai at 4...' Naina says and leaves the room

She walks towards the staircase, wondering what might've angered Arjun, when she hears the elevator opening and Arjun coming out of it, he spots her too

'Where are you going...?' he asks

'Rads needs me...' Naina informs

'Okay, see I need to talk to you... Meet me after the office...?' Arjun said, he looked nervous

'Yeah, sure... Where...?'

'Just come to my cabin, we'll go somewhere... Just you and me...' he smiles

'Looks like I will be scolded today, is this an advance damage control offer for it...?' Naina asks

'No, not any damage control, just I want to hang out with you...' he says

'Okay, see you...' Naina says and walks downstairs

Arjun looks at her retreating figure and sighs

Why can't she like me man?
