One year later...

Month of September,  3:30 p.m.

Radhika and Naina were in Mumbai for their studies, While Arjun & Jai in Delhi, struggling to set up E - market...

Naina was in her flat alone, while Radhika & Anoushka were out for shopping...

It was Naina's 24th Birthday, the next day...

They were planning to throw a party, so that it can lift her mood, she was badly missing her family from last few days...

Naina is sitting on the balcony's floor of her apartment, watching the heavy rain outside and feeling the splatters of droplets that were hitting railings of the balcony on her face..

Naina always loved Rains..

Whenever it would rain in Delhi, Naina would run to the terrace or the park to play in it...

Which was totally opposite thing for Arjun, he hated rains like anything...

Both of them would always debate on this with no conclusion, as others would always intervene to stop their silly pointless arguments...

But, whatever Naina heard about Mumbai Rains turned out to be true, when she came here...

The city indeed becomes beautiful during Rains..

But today her mood was gloomy, she wasn't enjoying the rain, but thought that today's weather was mirroring her state of mind...

She was terribly missing her family....

Living away from everyone turned out to be tougher than she thought...

It was going to be her first birthday without Family, she was missing everyone, especially her Father..

On every birthday, her father would wake her up and serve her the breakfast prepared by himself..

And pamper her with everything she wanted, why not afterall She was Daddy's Girl

Naina always loved her father's cooking, but this time he won't be there...

Naina was glad that Radhika and Anoushka will be there, but she wanted her family and friends to be here too...

A lone tear escaped her eyes, which she wipes...

Don't be a baby Naina... Learn to be strong Papaji won't be always there to protect you...

Sighing she gets up from her place and walks inside sliding the glass door behind her...

While she was wiping her face with towel, her phone rang...

It was Arjun calling her...

This made her more nostalgic, she started missing everyone even more..

Taking a deep breath, she picks the call, trying to control the nostalgia, because he would freak out if he hears Naina crying..

A: Hey Girl...

N: What did you do now ? *tries to mock him, so that she won't cry*

A: *Frowns* What do you mean ?

N: *chuckles* You remember me when you do something stupid, and need someone to save you

A: *Fakes Anger* Why ? Can't I miss you for no reason ?

N: *smiles* Ofcourse you can! But you don't do that

A: *scratches his head* But I am really missing you right now!

N: Why ?

A: Shut up ! No specific reason, I  just miss you ! That's it !

N: I...I miss you too...

A: So big girl, any plans for your birthday...?

This made her emotional

N: Not really...!

A: Why ? C'mon yaar Naina, 24th birthdays must be celebrated, they are like an indication saying you'll be an old lady soon *Laughs*

Tears roll down from Naina's eyes...

She was trying hard to find her voice to give him a sarcastic reply, but couldn't...

Just then it thunders loudly, making Naina jump...

A: *chuckles* Wow it's raining there !

N: *controls her sob* Yeah !

A: So what are you doing inside Frog ? Hop outside ! It's your season of the year... *laughs*

A sob escapes from her lips and she curses herself...

Please don't hear that... Please don't hear that...

But to her bad luck, Arjun heard that

A: *alarmed* Naina ? Are you crying ? 

N: *croaks* No !

A: Don't lie ! I know you are crying ! Tell me what's the matter ? Is someone bothering you ? What.. what is it ?

N: *sobs harder and cannot speak*

A: *gets up from his chair* Naina !!! Girl you are freaking me out, tell me what's the matter... Why are you crying !!

Naina wipes her tears and takes a deep breath to stop crying...

N: *croaks* I'm sorry Arjun, I didn't mean to freak you out, it's nothing, no one is bothering me... I'm just missing everyone!

A: *relaxes a bit* Ohh Ohkay....! I thought...*stops* Anyway, I can totally understand, how you feel right now, birthdays without family are always harder, but you get used to them eventually... So chill..

N: Yeah !

A: Why don't you ask uncle and aunty to visit you ?

N: *sniffs* No they can't, they are visiting my grandparents...

A: Ohh..! Don't worry girl, you won't be alone at your birthday... Atleast you have Radhika... I didn't have anyone there in Boston !

N: It must be really depressing...

A: It was, but after your phone call everything would be fine ! *Smiles*

N: I am glad...*sniffs again*

A: Now stop crying...! I can't even  listen to you crying...*chuckles*

N: *smiles wiping her tears* I won't cry I promise...

A: Good *sighs*

N: How is E market doing ?

A: I won't say very good, but fair enough... We found 2 new distributors, We are getting good amount of orders, But we don't have a warehouse to keep the products...

N: Why don't you use the basement of your office, It's big enough to accommodate few cartons...

A: Hmm, thats a considerable idea! *Pauses* Wait a second, how do you know there is a basement...?

N: *rolls her eyes* I was with Jai when he finalized that place to set up your office

A: Ohh.. Okay ! Accha, also I am thinking to set up a product delivery department... What say?

N: Naah, I suggest you to outsource that to some professional transporting company... Doing it yourself will be an additional burden on handful people of E market right now !

A: *thinks a bit* Hmm... Yeah you are right ! We are just 15 people handling approximately 8 departments...

N: I wish I could help ! *Sighs*

A: Just finish your studies and come back...

N: Yup

Just then her door bell rings, Naina answers it holding the phone on her hand... Rehaan, the landlord's son greets her on the other side

R: Hey Naina, Maa sent this for you

Arjun gets alarmed hearing a male voice

N: Hey Rehaan ! Please come in

And Rehaan enters holding the casserole...

A: Wait Naina, who is that, why are you allowing him to get inside your house ?

N: *whispers* Shut up Arjun, he is our landlord and our friend  Anu's brother, Chill

A: But...

R: Great weather outside isn't it ? I hope these girls don't fall sick after returning back, do they have umbrella with them..

N: yeah ! I've kept one in Rads's bag... I hope that would suffice for both of them...

A: *exclaims* You are home alone ! With him...

N: *whispers again* Arjun !

R: I'll come back later, it seems I am disturbing your important call..

Naina felt bad, he just came and has to leave....

N: No no, You are not, please have a seat.. I'll get something for you

R: Okay ! Mind if I watch today's cricket scores.. *sits comfortably on sofa*

N: Not at all Rey, Feel free to do anything

A: What the hell !

N: *sighs* I'll call you later Arjun, Bye

A: Naina wait

But Naina already cut the call...

Arjun angrily bangs his fist on the table

'Damn it !'

Next day...

'Wake up Girl !' A soft whisper wakes her up

Naina groans and rolls on the other side...

'C'mon Naina, it's your birthday, Wake up !' the person shakes her and tries to remove the blanket from her face..

It was a male voice, Naina stirs in her sleep, thinking it's a dream...

'Wake up sleepy head !' the person says again

Naina gets alarmed, hearing a male voice in her bedroom, she opens her eyes and they widen with shock...

'Aaaarrrrrgggghhhh....!' she screams

The person panics and climbs on her bed to stop her from screaming...

He uses his one hand to cover her mouth, so that her screaming stops and other hand to turn on the lights

'Shhh.... Stop screaming ! You'll wake Radhika up ' he says

Naina tried to move his arms away, so that she can wake Radhika and they both can beat up this intruder, who is hovering over her right now...

The man reaches the switch, and turns on the lights...

'Relax, it's me Arjun !' he said

Naina stops struggling, and looks at the person who is literally on top of her, with both his legs on either side of her waist and his hands covering her mouth...

It was indeed Arjun..

She sighs in relief and then tries to get out of his gripping hold which was pinning her to the bed..

Arjun looked at her confused and then realised their uncomfortable position and immediately let go of her..

'Sorry...!' he mumbled

Naina takes a deep breath and sits on her bed, while Arjun climbs down

'What the hell ! What are you doing here at *looks at the clock* at 5:30 in the morning !' she whispers angrily

'I wanted to wish you first ' he grinned

'You are mad Arjun ! You could've wished me over a phone !' she ties her hair into a messy bun

'You hung up on me' he huffed

'I had a guest...' she argued

'Yeah, The guest ! Who is more important than your best friend, Right?' he crossed his hands across his chest at glared at her...

Naina felt bad on hanging up on him for Rehaan..

She gets down from her bed and hugs him tightly

'I am sorry..' she said

He sighs 'Don't do that again'

'I won't' she leaves him

'Happy Birthday Naina !' he grinned

'Thank you Arjun !' she smiled pretending to be surprised

'Here is your present'  he gives her a wrapped big box

'You didn't have to' she said

'Shut up, I wanted to ' he forcefully makes her to hold the box, it was quite heavy... So she placed it on the bed...

'Thank you...' she hugs him again

'You are welcome, open it' he grins

'How did you get in ?' she asks unwrapping the paper on the box

'You gave us spare key remember ?' he shrugs his shoulders

She stares at him confused and then remembes that they've actually given him & Jai their flat keys..

'Ohh yes, Right' She looks at her present and gasps

'Oh my God Arjun, These must've cost you a fortune ! Are you crazy' she almost yells

Those were the first editions of some of her favourite novels

'Shhh...! Radhika will wake up, You screaming machine...' he sushed her..

'Arjun! I can't accept them, I mean they are...' she was finding hard to say anything

'You like them ?' He raised his brows

'Ofcourse I love them, but I already have the newer....' she begins but he cut her off by placing his finger on her lips

'That's what matters to me, Nothing else' he stared deep into her eyes

'But...'

'No buts Naina, your happiness is more important to me than any fortune in this world' he smiles

'Thank you....' She smiles and he frowns

'Say that again, and I will take these away !' he huffed

She chuckles and hugs him again, he froze for a moment, but hugged her back

'You really didn't have to leave your work for me Arjun, I mean...'

'You were crying yesterday, I had to come !' he sighs

'I was just missing everyone...' she sighs

'But it gave me a mini heart attack ' he chuckled

She got out his hold and stared at him bewildered...

'Just don't ever cry Naina, It breaks my heart to see or hear my *pauses* best friend cry...!' he ruffles her hair

Tears filled her eyes..

'They don't deserve to be here !' Arjun said wiping her tears

'And don't worry about my work, Jai can handle it for one day... Besides how can I miss celebrating your birthday with you after 7 long years !' He sighs dramatically...

She chuckles..

'Now c'mon feed me something I am hungry' he whines

'Yeah, Come...' She guides him towards kitchen

This is indeed best birthday for Naina after 7 years...
