Kie was the last one to leave when she saw Adeline sitting on the porch lost in her thoughts. Kie walked up to Adeline as Adeline noticed.

"Hey" Kie said. "Hey" Adeline said. "Are you okay" Kie asked sitting next to Adeline. "I don't know" Adeline told her.

"For my whole life I was always a Routledge I mean I always knew I was adopted but I didn't really care about knowing my parents at least not very much because I had John B and my dad and I already knew my biological mom was dead but now after finding out that I'm a Cameron I just it's a lot to take in and you know better than anyone I never wanted to be a kook if I were to be a kook it would to be for one person" Adeline said.

"JJ" Kie said. "Shut up" Adeline said. "Oh, like it's not obvious" Kie said, and Adeline smiled.

"Promise me something" Adeline said. "Anything" Kie said.

"Promise me that nothing will ever change our friendship I know how you feel about the Cameron's and I" Adeline said when Kie interrupted.

"You're my best friend Adi and you always will be no matter what it's you and me against the world nothing can change that" Kie said. "Thanks, Kie" Adeline said and hugged her.

"Anything for my favorite Routledge" Kie said and Adeline smiled. Adeline then pulled away from the hug.

"You should get home see you tomorrow" Adeline said. "See you then" Kie said and left.

"We picked the wrong parents" Pope said. "Well apparently my bio dad could own something like that" Adeline said. "You ever think that's why Rafe has always had a soft spot for you" Alex asked Adeline.

"I don't know maybe I mean it makes sense" Adeline said.

"Maybe you could beg your rich daddy for a fancy boat like that" Alex said. "I hate to break it to you guys but that's Topper and his girlfriend" Kie said.

Sarah and Topper drove by as Adeline noticed the look Sarah gave John B as he ignored her.

"You don't have to act like you don't see us" Kie said to Sarah. "And you're related to her I don't see it" Kie said to Adeline. "Thanks, I think" Adeline said.

"Alright keep a look out we're behind enemy lines" JJ said grabbing the gun. "Not the gun" Adeline said shaking her head.

"Yo come on man just put it back" John B said. "What" JJ said. "JJ" John B said.

"You can never be too careful" JJ said as Pope and Adeline got out of the car. "Hey, I predict that bringing a weapon to a four-star hotel will likely cause more problems than they solve" Pope said.

"Likely it will cause more problems and neither of us have enough money to bail you out of jail" Adeline said. "Thank you, Adi, Pope" John B said.

"I swear to god I'm gonna throw that thing in the ocean JJ put it back" Kie said before getting out of the car while Alex put the gun down. "You can't grab a gun like that" JJ said.

"Would you just come on" Adeline said as Alex got out of the car. "Can't forget my badge" JJ said.

"Professional busboy" JJ said. "So where are we going now" Alex asked. "We're getting on the internet because only rich people have electricity right now" JJ told them.

"This way" JJ said as Adeline caught up to JJ. "Andrew" JJ yelled. "Alright" Andrew said.

"What's up bro" JJ said as they walked past him. "Mama L good to see you" JJ said going to grab something when she smacked his hand away.

"Hey, no JJ" Mama L said as they walked past her. "See they got the backup generators going Kooks don't miss a beat" JJ said.

"Sweet lord the internet" Pope said going to the computer with everyone. "John B" Kie said as Alex closed the door before going to the computer.

"I've missed you" Pope said. "You want us to leave you alone so you can finish your orgasm or are you good" Adeline asked as Pope glared at her.

"Let me get in there gotta check my insta models" JJ said. "We don't have time for that" Kie said.

"Hey, hey, hey I got the map" John B said showing the map. "Coordinates please" Pope said.

"34, 57, 30 north 75, 55, 42 west" John B said. "Continental shelf right there" Alex said motioning to it.

"Well if it's off the deep end it's not gonna be much of a treasure hunt is it" Pope asked. "Come on, come on" Adeline said as Pope zoomed in. "It's in the high side" John B said.

"It's only 900 feet" Alex said. "That's not too deep" JJ said. "Is that doable or something" Kie asked.

"Yeah, totally doable" JJ said. "Okay will we be taking your personal submarine" Pope asked.

"How do you know this Mr. Dive master" John B asked.

"The salvage yard they got a drone that can drop 1000 it has a 360 camera and everything it's for like deep dives and stuff it's exactly what we need" JJ said.

"Can your dad get his grimy little hands on that" Adeline asked.

"Well, my dad's grimy little hands got his butt fired I guess the salvage captain frowns on showing up crapfaced turns out but the drone's there it's in the impound yard out back" JJ said.

"How much did you say was on the Royal merchant again" Alex asked. "400 million" John B and JJ said. "400 million dollars" Kie said.

"Yep 400 million dollars imagine what you can do with that money even though I'm donating most of my share" Adeline said.

"No absolutely not, absolutely not, no" Pope said going to the door blocking it.

"Pope move" Kie said moving him. "Guys that's too" Pope said when Kie interrupted him. "Come on" Kie said leaving with Adeline, Alex, John B and JJ.

"Can't we do anything legal for money" Pope asked. "Where's the fun in that" Adeline asked.

"Pope we're not stealing the drone we're borrowing it" John B said. "Relax a little we'll put it back" Adeline said.

"Humans are the only animal that can't tell fantasy from reality" Pope said. "Did you come up with that" Alex asked. "No Albert Bernstein came up with it, idiot" Adeline said.

"But it applies to this whole treasure hunting thing" Pope said. "Oh" Alex said. "So, which is it fantasy or reality" Pope asked.

"Why are you so weird, Pope" JJ asked. "It's fantasy but possible reality" Kie said. "Reality" John B said and Kie smiled. "Virtual reality" JJ said.

"Keep the signal clear" Pope said taking JJ's lighter. "You know what your problem is" JJ said once the van parked.

"You" Pope said. "No, it's that you need to relax man you're always so tense" JJ said.

"I'm not too tense" Pope said. "You can be at times, but you deal with it in your own way I suppose" Adeline said.

"Hey, don't worry we got this" John B told Kie once she got out of the car.

"It's not me that I'm worried about" Kie said. "Got it" John B said. "Let's hope this works" Alex said to John B.

"How's it going with Kiara" JJ asked John B. "It's not awkward, weird, or anything" John B said.

"Well, that's a good sign" Alex said. "Honestly I did not think you were gonna actually listen to me" JJ said as John B gave him a look.

"What I was 100 percent sure that she was into you, bro Pope would agree" JJ said. "Eh" Pope said as Alex and Adeline looked at him before looking at each other with a knowing look.

"So, like Kie she like definitely gave you the Heisman" JJ said.

"Oh no question yup" John B said. "Gotcha" JJ said. "Maybe she's just into somebody else" Pope said. "Okay guys focus" Adeline said. As soon as the close was clear they rushed off.

They all made it to where the drone was being kept as JJ tried to unlock it. "Do you have the right numbers" Pope asked.

"Alright so I might have the wrong numbers" JJ said. "The worst possible time to have the wrong numbers" Alex said. "Oh hey" JJ said as John b saw the dog grabbed Adeline's hand and ran off.

"John B" Adeline said annoyed. "You're all I have left I'm not letting that thing tear you apart" John B said.

"It's just a baby a very protective older baby" Adeline said. "No" John B said. 

John B managed to break the lock and they grabbed the drone and left.

"Stealing drones makes you hungry" Kie said. "What I would do to a beer and shrimp and grits right now" JJ said. "It would not be pretty" Pope said.

"Think your dad will cave" Adeline asked Kie. "Guess we'll see" Kie said as they all walked in while Kie went to talk to her dad and JJ, Adeline, John B, Pope, and Alex moved to wait by the side.

"Hey dad" Kie said. "Hey" Mr. Carrea said back to his daughter. "How'd we do" Kie asked. "Didn't turn it over once" he said.

"It's probably just bad luck because of the storm" Kie said giving her dad a hug.

"Yeah, will be sure to tell the banks that" he said. "Guess not is not the best time to ask for free food for me and my friends" Kie said pulling away from her dad.

"Look at them" he said looking at Adeline, John B, JJ, Alex, and Pope. "They're greedy pelicans" he said before looking at Kie again.

"I thought I told you to stop hanging around these guys" he said.

"Well, everybody at the Kook academy hates me dad" Kie said. "Cause you never have them a chance" he said.

"I did give them a chance and they got all stuck up on me I mean they care more about shoes than surfing" Kie said. "What am I supposed to do with that" Kie asked.

"These are my friends" Kie said when she looked at Adeline, John B, JJ, Alex, and Pope. Adeline, John, B, and Alex waved at him while JJ gave him a sip sign.

"Well, I gotta throw it out might as well take it" Mr. Carrea said and Kie hugged him.

"Thank you" Kie said and pulled away. "You're welcome" Mr. Carrea said. "I'll bring it out" Mr. Carrea said leaving.

"Sit down" Kie told Alex, John B, Adeline, JJ, and Pope and they all sat down.

Soon after they all ate Kie started dancing and motioned to John B to join her. When John B realized he stood up and danced with Kie.

JJ then got an idea and got up taking Adeline's hand and danced with her. Adeline saw Pope looking at Kie and motioned Pope to join them. Pope smiled at Adeline grateful and joined them.

Adeline was asleep in her bed when she felt the bed dip. She woke up and saw JJ.

"JJ what are you doing" Adeline asked. "Sorry didn't mean to wake you" JJ said as Adeline saw the bruises.

"Your fine" Adeline said before laying back down and JJ laid beside her.

Adeline never understood why at times when JJ's dad was beating him, he would lay beside Adeline all night at times she thought it was because he felt safe with her, but she didn't want to have false hope, so she just never questioned it.

"What's this right here" JJ asked. "Don't touch that" Pope said. "I'm trying to work out this thing" Pope said.

"God bless geeks Pope truly man I mean it I may have you teach me" Alex said. "I will push you in there" Adeline told Alex.

"What would we do without you to control the drones" JJ asked Pope. "Technically it's not a drone it's an ROV" Pope said. "Shut up, shut up it's too early for that right now" JJ said.

"Hey look once we get footage of the wreck, we'll bring it to a lawyer in town and file a formal claim" John B said.

"Why do we have to do that" JJ asked. "Well, there is maritime salvage law you can't just go to the ocean floor and scoop a hunch of stuff up" Pope said.

"Okay but lawyers aren't cheap" Alex said. "As soon as they see the footage they'll work for a comp" John B said.

"How do you know all of that" Kie asked. "Our dad said it like a million times" Adeline said.

"Yeah, that's fair" Kie said. "The tether is like really long in the wrong weather this thing could get pushed around" Pope said. "Then we'll go at dead calm" John B said.

"At slack tide" Adeline asked. "So now we just gotta wait around for the right weather" Alex said. "And today is not that day" Pope said.

"Well, we better go then maybe kill some time" Adeline said leaving.
