INTRODUCTION CHAPTER
*EDITED VERSION*
The Beginning
Planet: Everotorn
Location: Temple of Cheaus
Two people ran through the underground tunnels that lead them up to the Temple of Cheaus. They held the hand of their daughter so they would not lose her in the chaos.
War was upon the planet.
Explosions shook the tunnels they ran through, the walls threatening to collapse.
Upon reaching the spiral staircase bodies were spread out on almost every step. One of the people, a woman, the queen of her planet gasped at the sight. So many dead, so many lost to the war.
"Darling, we must go," the second person, the king, said placing his hand on her shoulder. With his free hand, he held his daughter's and did not let go. "We must go," he repeated.
The queen nodded, swallowing the lump which had formed in her throat. Lifting the bottom of her purple dress she turned to her daughter, whose eyes fell on a body of a young Everotornian guard. "Don't look at them."
"I can stop this," the daughter said, kneeling next to the fallen warrior. "I can end this war, I can de—"
"Stop!" her father roared, causing her to flinch. "Look at your hands."
The girl shifted her gaze from the dead to her hands.
They glowed white like the stars in the heavens above. "Mother," she muttered. Her hands formed into fists. "Please, so many have died because of me."
The girl's veins now emitted the same glow as her hands.
Her parents looked at each other, they knew if they let their daughter use her abilities their enemy would truly have won.
Doing the only thing the king could think of he raised his royal staff and struck the back of his daughter's head, causing her body to fall limp. Tears fell from his eyes as he caught her small body in his hands. His heart was being torn apart as he did not wish to harm her.
Almost in an instant, the light pulsing through the girl's body faded before disappearing altogether.

The daughter opened her eyes and gasped. A blue capsule, a sphere with no doors, hovered above the ground in front of her. In her heart the daughter knew what was going to happen, she was to be sent away in hopes it would end the war. But it was not what she wanted. She did not want to leave, for this was her life, her home.
The king carried his daughter in his arms. Tears collected in the rims of his eyes and threatened to spill. "This is the only way," he murmured, kissing his daughter's head. "Open it."
A guard nodded, fighting his own urge not to cry. He placed his hand on the soft surface of the sphere. As soon as his hand connected the surface around his hand became hard, and as he pushed in a small opening appeared. "Hurry, I don't know how long the capsule will stay open."
An explosion ripped through the temple. The queen turned her attention to a window and another gasp left her lips. "The city, it's fallen." She glanced back at her daughter. "I am sorry, this is the only way, my daughter."
"Mother! Please don't send me away!" The daughter cried, as she was placed in the capsule that would keep her safe and far from the Zutorian's reach. "Please," she begged again. "Please, I don't want to go." The pain in her heart grew, she did not want to leave, this was her home until the greedy and ruthless Zutorian's attacked.
"It is not safe for you anymore, my child." Her mother leant over and kissed her forehead. "You will finally be free from all of this."
"Where will I go?"
The king placed a small pendant, which hung from a purple chain, around her neck. He took her hand in his as the floating city they once called home began to fall behind them. With a kiss on the back of his daughter's hand, a tear finally fell from his green eyes, and he smiled.
"We are sending you to the stars."
