Location: ROGS Compound

My head snapped to the side as Mick rose up from the ground. Brett appeared at his side with a smile on his face.

"Have a nice nap, did you?" Brett's smile faded as he looked at Jeremy's motionless body.

Mick rubbed the top of his forehead. "I'm okay, what about—" I watched Mick's eyes fall on Jeremy, a frown taking over his facial features. "Jeremy?"

"He's gone," James's arms were wrapped tightly around me. "He's gone, Mick," his tone was laced with disappointment.

I could not believe James had given up on Jeremy when they were family. I would never give up on my family.

I frowned at his words. "You may have given up, but not me." I peeled James's arms off me, and before he could question me, I stood up and made my way over to Jeremy once again.

Looking back at James, I said, "I will not give up on you, Jeremy." I allowed the energy to flow through my arms and into my hands, causing them to glow. "Do not give up on us!" I lifted them up into the air and then slammed them down onto Jeremy's chest.

The impact created a blinding light and throws me backwards into James, who catches me in his arms.

"Jewels, what did you do?" James's voice echoed in my ear, but I had no strength to answer him.

If I could answer I would tell him I just risked my own life to save Jeremy's. I forced almost all of the energy from me into his body.

James looked down at me, his face showing worry. I could feel myself beginning to be consumed by darkness. "Jewels, hey ... keep your eyes open!"

"I cannot," I managed to say and I was surprised how weak my voice sounded. "J-James," my hand reaches up to his face but he grabs it. "J-James, forgive me."

"What? Jewels, why?"

"I am sorry." I could feel my heart beginning to beat slower.

"Jewels!"

"I love you, James." My eyelids finally closed as I gave in to the darkness.

"Jewels," a voice I had not heard in a long time called me. "Daughter."

Opening my eyes I am shocked to find myself standing in an ocean of white, but I am even more shocked with the person standing in front of me. "Mother? But how?"

"You are—" she briefly pauses, "as the humans call it, dead."

I shakily stood up and walked over to her. "It cannot be."

"I am sorry, daughter, but it is." She reaches out and wipes a fallen tear from my cheek. "Why do you cry?"

"Did I save him?"

"Who?" Her hand rested on my cheek as her eyes searched my face. "You mean the human boy?" I nodded. "Jewels, I cannot tell you."

"Mother, I do not want to leave them," I cried as she engulfed me in a hug. "I am not finished on Earth, I must save them from the Zutorians."

"I know my, daughter. And that is why I am sending you back."

I looked up at her. "What do you mean?"

"Your time is not yet, but do not be afraid, Jewels, we will meet again."

I opened my mouth to speak but my mother places two fingers on my forehead and then a blinding light takes over my vision.

Location: Camp Jameson

Groaning I opened my eyes to find I am no longer in the ROGS compound. Instead, I am laying on a bed covered in blankets.

"Jewels?"

Turning my head I could not help but gasp upon seeing his face.

"Thank goodness, you gave us a scare," he said before sitting down on the bed.

"You are alive?"

"As are you," he chuckled then frowned. "Jewels, you scared everyone, you've been asleep for a month."

"What?"

"When you saved me Doc said you fell into a coma. I-I never left your side."

"And James? Is he—"

"He's fine, Jewels, but he's out on a hunt." Jeremy reached over and touches my cheek, a similar way to my mother had done. "I missed you," he leans closer to me, his lips hovering just above mine. "We thought we lost you that time."

I closed my eyes, feeling his warm breath fanning across my face. "Jeremy—"

"Can I kiss you?"

I am taken back by his question, my eyes widening as I found myself nodding. His lips connected with mine, kissing me slowly as his hands stroked my cheeks. Jeremy's lips were soft and so very different from James's.

The realisation caused me to pull away. "Jeremy, I am sorry, I cannot—"

"If you're worried about what James will think then you shouldn't be." I frowned at his statement, not understanding his words. "Since we got back, he and Lucy have been close, I'm sorry—"

"Close? What do you mean?"

"James gave up on you." I gasped, feeling tears form in my eyes.

Did he give up on me?

"But I didn't, I'd never give up on you, Jewels." Jeremy kissed my forehead in an attempt to comfort me.

I forced myself off the bed, pushing passed Jeremy and ignoring his calls. My legs moved fast until I was standing outside of a hut I had not been inside before.

People walking by stared at me, some smiled while others whispered things I could not hear. I began to walk through the camp with Jeremy behind me, my eyes scanning the growing crowd.

But then I stop.

My mouth slightly parted and a frown on my face.

There, before me, entering the camp was James holding Lucy's hand. He smiles and kisses her cheek making my blood boil.

"Jewels—"

Jeremy tried to speak but I ignored him and just stared at James, whose eyes suddenly fall on me. The smile once on his face disappears and his hand releases Lucy's.

"No," I take a step back. "Tell me it is not true!"

"I'm sorry," Jeremy places a hand on my shoulder but I shake him off. "I tried to tell him you'd wake up—"

"You lied to me, James!" my voice was laced with anger. "How could you?"

James steps towards me, "I-I Jewels, I-I-I'm sorry, I thought you—"

"No," I hold my hands out in front of me and closed my eyes. "No, James, you do not get to play with my feelings." I turned to Jeremy. "Please, take me away from him, I do not want to see him."

Jeremy nods, reaching out he holds my hand. "Doc wants to check you out any—"

"Jeremy!" James's voice echoed behind us. "Get your hands off my girlfriend!"

I turned on my heel and avoided his eyes, "I am not your girlfriend anymore, James. Nor will I ever be again. You have broken me in ways I will not understand, you have destroyed the love I—perhaps it never was love."

"Don't say that, Jewels, please. I can explain—"

"I do not want to hear your excuse. You gave up on me, James!"

"I thought you weren't going to wake up." Although my eyes were fixed on the dirt beneath me, I could see the shadow of his hand reaching towards me. "Please forgive me."

"No," And with that I turned to Jeremy, leaving James and the feelings I once felt for him behind.
