"Hurry up guys," Lucy said from behind us.

We had made it out of the tunnels and were now in a small alleyway heading towards where they had a, um, Jeek? Jiip?

"Hopefully no one found our Jeep." Jeremy turned his head and glanced at James, I was still in his arms. "How is ya doing, Jewels?"

I opened my mouth, but I could not find my voice only a groan left my throat.

"She's losing too much blood," James's voice was laced with worry. I struggled to look up at him. My body was feeling heavier by the passing minute. "Jewels, just stay awake."

"James, why did you eat my lips?" I asked, my own voice came out rushed and weak.

Although the darkness was invading my vision, I could see the colour changing in his cheeks; turning red. Lucy started to chuckle behind us and said, "I like this girl, the way she words things is hilarious. Maybe she calls 'doing it' mating? Maybe hugging? Or—oh, I know, if kissing is 'eating each other's lips' then fuc—"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence," Jeremy said, narrowing his eyes at her. "We have more important things to worry about right now."

"Relax, I'm kidding." She laughed and suddenly grabbed James's left shoulder. "Stop!"

Both James and Jeremy halted and turned around, I tried hard to look but I could not see anything; it was all blurry.

"Never mind." Lucy had her gun raised in the air pointing it behind us, she lowered her gun and said, "I thought someone was following us."

A sigh fell from James's mouth, his warm breath fanning over my face.

"Alright, the Jeep is around the corner," Jeremy announced, approaching a corner at the end of the alleyway. He stuck his head around the corner before looking back at us. "It's clear, Brett and Mick signalled, come on."

I slung my arms around James's neck as the group broke out into a run making our way across a wide street. I did not look at the surrounding ruins of the city nor did I say anything. James's body seemed to bounce with every fast stride he took causing the pain from my injury to become severe.

Groans fell from my mouth, I forced my head against James's chest and closed my eyes tightly hoping the pain would subside. However it did not, the pain only grew.

My breath was almost knocked out of me when I suddenly was pulled away from James, causing me to let out a loud whimper. I opened my eyes to discover I was now in Jeremy's arms, but soon enough I was placed on something soft.

"Brett, stay in the back, shoot anything that moves," Jeremy instructed. This was when I realised I was now inside the Jeep. "Lucy, you're up front with me, I need you to navigate our way out of here."

"Roger that boss," Lucy replied. I turned my head to see her roll her eyes and then climb in the front beside Jeremy, who now was seated behind the steering wheel.

I felt someone sit beside me and then my head was gently lifted up into the air then placed down. Looking up I found my head came to rest on James's lap. Seconds later, a roar erupted from the Jeep as it came to life and then it started to move.

Pain was such a strange thing to feel, back home we did not feel such pain because it was something we lived without. Our technology combined with an Everotornian's resistance to pain proved to be the perfect shield against it.

The royal bloodline of Everotorn was not like normal Everotornian's, we did not feel physical pain but we could feel emotional pain. I felt it when my mother was murdered in front of me, I felt it when I lost control of my power all those many times and brought eternal sleep upon some of my own people. And again, the time I was sent to the stars.

But this physical pain felt a lot worse than emotional, it was as though a fire was burning throughout my body and it became more intense to the area the blade penetrated.

When the Jeep suddenly took a sharp turn and bounced violently on the road, I let out a groan, and James yelled, "Can you not hit every single bloody bump in the road?"

"Do you want to drive? Because if you don't quit complaining I'll pull this damn thing over and let you do it," Jeremy spat back while Lucy just laughed.

James held my hand in his and gave it a squeeze. "You're going to be fine, Jewels, just don't think about the—"

"Smooth, mate," Mick remarked in the back of the Jeep, squished next to Brett. "Telling her not to think about it, will only make her think about it more."

"And you just made it worse," Brett said then there was a slapping noise followed by a groan. "I'll slap you again, Mick, if you don't concentrate."

I closed my eyes, these people sounded like hatchlings.

"Jewels?" When my eyelids opened I found James's hazel eyes staring down at me. "I promise I won't let anyone get you again, I won't let them—"

"Do not promise things you cannot keep." I released a sigh and he frowned. "Do you not see?"

I felt him stroke my hand with his thumb then he answered, "See what?"

"All humans want me, but I do not want them." I studied his face, the frown never leaves it. "I want you—"

"Oh, god." Lucy released a cough. "Don't tell me she's falling for him."

"I want you, all of you," I continued because I did not know what this 'falling for him' meant. "You once told me, 'it looks like you have a home after all' perhaps you are right, I do have a home."

"What are you saying?" This time it was Jeremy who sparked an interest in my words. "Jewels?"

"Camp Jameson is now my home."

Current time ...

Planet: Everotorn

Location: Royal Citadel

The King and Queen of Everotorn were forced on their knees before the ruthless High Commander of the Zutorian's, Commander Morgan.

"Well, this has been an eventful yet unsuccessful day!" Morgan climbed down the king's throne he had now claimed for himself. "Tell me, where is the energy source?"

"We sent it away." The queen did not look at Morgan, her eyes were locked on the purple marble floor beneath them. "We sent it far away to a place you do not know, you will never see it again."

"Do I look like an idiot?" The king did not answer this, he glanced at his wife who had a smirk plastered on her lips. Morgan, however, did not see her smirk. "I know you have sent it—rather—her away and I know it was done using an escape pod, therefore I will track it."

"You will never find it."

"If that is so? Your majesties, why do you hold a worried face?" Morgan was now the one smirking, both the king and queen still did not look at him. "Will you not admit the fall of Everotorn? Will you not submit to your defeat?"

"Never," they answered in sync.

This however angered Commander Morgan. "Take them to my mothership, we leave at first light."

"Where are we going?" the queen questioned as she was forced up to her feet.

Morgan snickered, yet his face held no emotion. He approached her, saying the same words they had told their daughter, "Why, Your highness, we are going the same place you sent her."

He took a step forward, his claw touched her chin, forcing it up to look at him.

"We are going to the stars."
