Two Similar Loners Are Still Two Individuals From Two Different Existences

The void was never really quiet after that encounter. We had started small, friendly talk for about what seemed to be an hour, until other me broke out his puns. Oh god, his puns. I never realized how jovial I was to hear something different, something new. Soon after he started, I started as well. We would become laughing messes after each terrible joke we exchanged. It was nice. However, even though it seemed that time never passed inside this...void, time went on in other alternate universes. Knowing this, Death had to cut our meeting short.

"Heh heh...Hey...I'm...I'm sorry for that...uh, sudden outburst back there...buuuut...I have to go."

"Oh." was all I could managed for a response.

"Well...Maybe...I could come visit you later?" He asked, a smile plastered on his face.

I smiled and nodded. His bony hands reached for the hood of his black attire, pulling it over to cover most of his face. He gave me a small wave, and then vanished. The positive atmosphere suddenly vanished, replaced with the once cold and empty void around me. My bright smile fell. There wasn't a reason to continue this facade I had kept while speaking with him.

I truly thought the intervention was...nice...but, this same person had tried to kill me before. I didn't exactly trust him. Especially, knowing now that he has the power of DEATH itself. The pain shot through me, my mind cleared to a simple thought. Oh god. I was so close...to Death itself. The thought made my bones shake, and my vision to blur once more. What was I thinking? Then, another chilling thought ran through my head. My reaction, however, was different to this thought. He...He was partially responsible. HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM. THAT BASTARD, THAT DIRTY LITTLE BASTARD. Rage washed over me, making my vision clear again. My fists had went back to clenching into fists. THAT DAMNED, DIRTY LITTLE BASTARD. HE WAS THERE. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE. HE. KILLED. THEM. I wanted to break something, to channel my rage and frustration into SOMETHING. ANYTHING. I materialized a few bones out of nothing, and then slammed them into the (somewhat?) floor.
WHY THAT-

I felt a warm presence behind me. They softly tapped my back, forcing me out of my thoughts. I turned to the figure, ready to attack.

Frisk stumbled backward, worry written all over their scared face. My gaze softened, and my body relaxed. Oh, it was just Frisk. The void felt a little less lonely again. They were shaking, staring at me in fear. I then realized that I looked as if I was ready to give someone a bad time (which I was). I dismissed my attacks and strolled over to Frisk.

"Heh, sorry for scaring you. You look pretty...CHILLED to the bone." My usual smile was back in it's rightful place. Frisk smiled at the joke, and laughed slightly. They had now stopped shaking. Good. "Well, what are you doing over here?" I asked, scanning them for anything that could give me an answer. "The timeline has reset." They informed me softly. I couldn't help but sigh at the news. God. About time. Though, a part of me wished that it was left that way. I couldn't even bare twenty more of the same dialogue being spilled over, and over. My smile returned after my sigh. "Alright. I'll get ready."

~~💀~~

I stumbled back into my dimension, hitting a wall in the process. WELP. THAT HURTS. A LOT. I cursed. Luckily, no one was there to hear my swear...Or witness my return from my somewhat long absense. I got off the cold wall, staring down the giant corridors that were shining a silvery gold. My boney feet echoed through them as I travelled down the halls. Everything seemed calm. Great. I turned the corner, and ended up in room with pillars lined against their walls. On each pillar, a statue of each god and goddess to exist was perched neatly on each one. I didn't always like to look at any of them, because I found no interest. However, I began to notice something.

The statues were all pearly white, and their position was graceful and powerful. I slowly made my way down the hall, scanning over each statue. One statue had a might goddess, standing proudly with a toothy grin. She held a large spear and the statue captured the passion in her eyes. Undyne. My gaze swiveled towards another statue. This statue was about the opposite of the other. It had a small, timid-looking goddess standing on top of it. She had spheres perched on her snout, which I assumed was used to indicate her glasses. She held tightly onto a book of some sort, and looked less proud, but more wise. Alphys. my gaze continued on. A tall, powerful-looking god stood on the biggest pillar. His chiseled exterior muscular and his powerful gaze looking ahead. He held a long, big trident in his massive hand. Asgore. Next to him, was a smaller, but more beautiful and elegant goddess. She had a brilliant, long dress on her body and she stood lovingly on her pillar. She had a kind, gentle smile set across her face. A blooming flower was set next to her ear. However, I let out a small grumble at the sight. The Goddess of Life.

At the end of the room, was a different-looking pillar. It hadn't been made out of the same pearly white material as was made for the other statues. This was made from rigid obsidian. It had a god, wearing a black, dull cloak. His eyes wear full of positivity, and he held a long, deadly scythe. I nearly choked at the sight. Papyrus. I ripped my gaze from the gastardly sight and instead focused on the spot next to it.

   There was nothing.

I growled at the sight. Every god and goddess was in this hall...EXCEPT ME. I walked bitterly towards the door at the end of the long arrangement of statues. I flung the door open, showing an eternal dark black which light couldn't pierce. I stepped inside, and slammed the door shut.

~~💔~~

I snapped my fingers, making the new Sans disappear from sight. I sighed. I was completely used to this constant routine that I started to lose hope for my dreams. For my goal. Frisk made their way to me, and lightly tugged on my sleeve. I peered down at them. "Geno? I..." They trailed off, a concerned expression starting to creep onto their face.

   "Go on...?"

"I...I heard something. Before Sans came. I heard a different voice...I...I didn't...I didn't know what to do..."

   My smile faltered. Shit

"Really? What did it sound like?"

I already knew the answer. I wanted to convince Frisk something else. I didn't want to introduce them to different alternate universes. Not at the risk of them reining genocide over them too. "Well...It kind of sounded like..." They paused, the shrugged with uncertainty. Relief washed over me.

"Well, must have been me then. Sorry."

They shrug once again, then they leave to go do something elsewhere.
