Freedom
~~💔~~
Ever since that day, Reaper would always come back with more and more things. Soon, the small void looked more similar to a small living room, a small coffee table and carpet completing the look.
Geno had given up on his ploy to use the original Sans and instead invested time on finding a way out without dusting.
Reaper also did the same, besides his usual tasks of reaping dying souls. They both had agreed to one day see the stars together, where Geno could finally see the world for the first time.
~~~
"Heya."
Reaper peaked from behind the couch, for he had just teleported from his universe.
"Hey." Geno answered, though his back was turned as he was sitting on the floor.
"What'cha doing?"
"Nothing much. Just alone with my thoughts."
"Cool." The god slowly drifted towards Geno, peeking over his shoulder. Geno was fumbling with his scarf, his attention dead-set on it.
"Hey...So...A friend of mine is just DYING to meet you."
Geno didn't look at Reaper. "Really?"
"Yeah. She is even willing to wreck down time and space to get here."
Geno let out a small chuckle, before reprocessing Reaper's words.
He grinned. "'She'? Does someone like his friend~?"
Reaper went silent for a few seconds before laughing. "PFFFT. WHAT?! THE GODDESS OF LIFE AND THE GOD OF DEATH, TOGETHER??? HOW RIDICULOUS!!!"
Geno peered over at Reaper, which was on the 'ground' and holding his non-existent stomach. "Well, now that you tell me who she is...It DOES sound a little far-fetched."
Reaper's loud laughs subsided, his body slowly drifting back into the air. "Well...I was wondering..." He started, turning in the air to face Geno.
"The time you told me about food. I got you some spaghetti that my bro made, and then you started to tell me about food and HP. Something about food recovering HP?"
Geno raised a non-existent eyebrow. "Yeah? What about it?"
Reaper kept silent for a moment, hoping that Geno could at least know where he was going.
Luckily, Geno did, his eyes widening. "...You don't think...? The solution isn't that simple, idiot." Geno got to his feet, starting to walk away in quiet distress.
"WAITWAITWAIT, JUST HEAR ME OUT!" Reaper pleaded, flying after Geno.
"Listen! When you start to dust, you can just consume some food! Your HP won't be decreasing and you could live! You won't be stuck here forever anymore!"
"Yeah, and what if it doesn't work? I'll go back to the original sans...FOR GOOD this time."
The god flew in front of Geno, stopping the other in his tracks. "Please...Let me at least try..."
Geno stared directly into Reaper's empty eye sockets.
Then, Geno let out a sigh.
"...I...I trust you..."
Reaper formed a shaky grin. "Alright."
~~~
He was nervous. After their conversation, Reaper disappeared to retrieve monster food. Reaper had been gone for about two hours now.
Geno could hardly breathe correctly.
If this didn't work, he was going to vanish. He will be erased from all of existence. It was a fate worse than death. It was the abyss.
"☟︎☜︎☹︎☹︎⚐︎...☝︎☜︎☠︎⚐︎."
Geno shivered. He recognized that voice.
"What do you want...?"
A shadowy figure emerged from the darkness of the void, shifting towards him. It's face was blurred, yet it was apparent that there was one crack streaming down the right side of it's face, another coming from below on it's left.
"👎︎✌︎☼︎😐︎📪︎ ✋︎💧︎ ✋︎❄︎ ☠︎⚐︎❄︎✍︎" G̸̺̤̞͝a̵͍̓͜ś̶͎̎t̷͉͇̹͇͌̃̐̀̍e̵̬̦̲̭͕͛̓r̴̟̐̀̿ inquired, a faint smile appearing from it's blurred expression.
"I won't ask again." Geno's iris flared a brilliant blue, a tint of crimson lining the bottom of the color. It ignited with magic.
"...👎︎⚐︎ ☠︎⚐︎❄︎ ☞︎☼︎✌︎✡︎📪︎ ☞︎☼︎✋︎☜︎☠︎👎︎. ❄︎☟︎☜︎ 💧︎⚐︎☹︎🕆︎❄︎✋︎⚐︎☠︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ ✌︎☼︎☜︎ 💧︎☜︎☜︎😐︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ ☟︎✌︎💧︎ ✌︎☹︎☼︎☜︎✌︎👎︎✡︎ ☞︎⚐︎🕆︎☠︎👎︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎. ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎🕯︎☼︎☜︎ ☞︎☼︎✋︎☜︎☠︎👎︎ ☟︎✌︎💧︎ ☟︎✋︎❄︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ ☠︎✌︎✋︎☹︎ ☼︎✋︎☝︎☟︎❄︎ 🕆︎🏱︎⚐︎☠︎ ✋︎❄︎🕯︎💧︎ ☟︎☜︎✌︎👎︎."
Geno blinked. "...Why should I trust your word?"
G̸̺̤̞͝a̵͍̓͜ś̶͎̎t̷͉͇̹͇͌̃̐̀̍e̵̬̦̲̭͕͛̓r̴̟̐̀̿ shook his head. "✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ ☟︎✌︎✞︎☜︎ ☠︎⚐︎ ☠︎☜︎☜︎👎︎ ❄︎⚐︎ ❄︎☼︎🕆︎💧︎❄︎ 💣︎✡︎ 🕈︎⚐︎☼︎👎︎💧︎. ☟︎⚐︎🕈︎☜︎✞︎☜︎☼︎📪︎ ✋︎ 🕈︎✋︎☹︎☹︎ 💧︎✌︎✡︎ ❄︎☟︎✋︎💧︎..."
The skeleton stared at the thing. "...Go on."
"✌︎ ☝︎☼︎☜︎✌︎❄︎ 👎︎✌︎☠︎☝︎☜︎☼︎ ✌︎🕈︎✌︎✋︎❄︎💧︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ ☞︎🕆︎❄︎🕆︎☼︎☜︎📪︎ 💧︎✌︎☠︎💧︎. ✌︎☠︎ 🕆︎☠︎✋︎💣︎✌︎☝︎✋︎☠︎✌︎👌︎☹︎☜︎ 🏱︎⚐︎🕈︎☜︎☼︎ 🕈︎✋︎☹︎☹︎ 💧︎❄︎☼︎✋︎😐︎☜︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ ✌︎❄︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ 💣︎⚐︎💧︎❄︎ 👌︎☹︎✋︎☠︎👎︎ 💣︎⚐︎💣︎☜︎☠︎❄︎📪︎ 👍︎✌︎🕆︎💧︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ 🕆︎❄︎❄︎☜︎☼︎ 👎︎⚐︎🕈︎☠︎☞︎✌︎☹︎☹︎. 👌︎☜︎🕈︎✌︎☼︎☜︎📪︎ 💣︎✡︎ ☞︎☼︎✋︎☜︎☠︎👎︎. 👌︎☜︎🕈︎✌︎☼︎☜︎ ⚐︎☞︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ 👍︎☟︎✋︎☹︎👎︎ 🕈︎☟︎✋︎👍︎☟︎ 💧︎🏱︎☜︎✌︎😐︎💧︎ ⚐︎☞︎ 👎︎☜︎✌︎❄︎☟︎📪︎ ☞︎⚐︎☼︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎✋︎☼︎ ☺︎🕆︎👎︎☝︎☜︎💣︎☜︎☠︎❄︎ 🕈︎✋︎☹︎☹︎ 👌︎☜︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ ☹︎✌︎💧︎❄︎."
Before Geno could completely process G̸̺̤̞͝a̵͍̓͜ś̶͎̎t̷͉͇̹͇͌̃̐̀̍e̵̬̦̲̭͕͛̓r̴̟̐̀̿'s words, Reaper appeared behind Geno.
As he arrived, G̸̺̤̞͝a̵͍̓͜ś̶͎̎t̷͉͇̹͇͌̃̐̀̍e̵̬̦̲̭͕͛̓r̴̟̐̀̿ vanished, not to be heard of again.
"I got the food!" Reaper smiled, waving a small bag.
Geno peered at the package curiously, waving off the last words of G̸̺̤̞͝a̵͍̓͜ś̶͎̎t̷͉͇̹͇͌̃̐̀̍e̵̬̦̲̭͕͛̓r̴̟̐̀̿. "What did you get?"
Reaper winked at him. "You'll see~!"
~~~
Geno stood before a portal, daylight seeping through the window in reality and shining into the save screen.
"I'll go first." Reaper assured Geno, smiling. He casually floated through, landing onto the ground.
"Alright, c'mon!"
Geno managed to gulp down a nervous squeal. Gathering his courage, he gathered his strength and lept.
...
The wind blew against his face as he landed on the ground. Quickly, Reaper retrieved a butterscotch cinnamon pie from the bag and handed it to his friend. Small crumbles of dust blew form his form.
He was dusting.
Geno grasped the pie, shoving it into his mouth.
...
*HP MAXED OUT.
*HP FULLY RESTORED!
...
Geno quivered. The soft grass brushed against his bare hands, rubbing gently against his bones. The breeze blew gently, making his long scarf flutter in the wind. Trees rustled quietly, and a small song from chirping birds could be heard.
Hot tears ran down Geno's face.
He was...
He was...
Free.
~~💀~~
Reaper was grinning widely as he saw the bewilderment on Geno's face. His plan succeeded, but the glitches which plagued the other's body was still there. This rose flags in his head, which he decided to quickly acknowledge.
"Hey. You're glitches..."
Geno looked at Reaper. "Oh. It's just coding...uh...I...I think the pie stopped me from dying...but...my condition is somewhat the same."
"What do you mean? We got you out of your condition!"
"My 'internally bleeding' condition, idiot."
"...OH. WELL. UH...It can't be THAT bad-"
"TRUST ME. IT'S SCARY."
Reaper wanted to protest, but safely took Geno's word for it. "Okay...Welllll-" Reaper looked up at the sky and then smiled.
He reached for Geno's hand, only to withdraw.
"Is something wrong?" Geno asked, watching Reaper stare at Geno's bony hand.
"...Can I touch you?"
"...Uh."
"Hold your hand?"
"Um...Sure? Why not?"
Slowly, Reaper wrapped his own fingers around his friend's, gripping the other.
Thankfully, Geno didn't dust.
Reaper eagerly coaxed the confused skeleton to follow him, pulling him along through the trees. They stopped abruptly at a cliffside, the god excited.
"What the hell is going on?" Geno muttered.
Reaper simply cleared his throat, ushering Geno near the edge. He grew anxious being so close to falling, but Reaper plopping down next to him comforted him.
"Welcome..." The Reaper started, directing Geno's attention to the horizon.
The sun peaked over the tops of several mountains, it's warm rays hitting Geno. The sky became a ombre of fiery oranges to luscious magenta, morphing into shadowy violets and then ending in a dark indigo.
It was magnificent.
Reaper leaned onto Geno. "To The Surface Of ReaperTale."
