A Wish To A Tree From The Depths Of The Heart
~~💀~~
Reaper poked Geno's cheek bone, a bored expression on his face. They were once again sitting on the comfortable couch, enjoying the evening.
Well, Geno was enjoying the evening.
"Don't you want to go anywhere?"
Geno looked up from a book he was reading, turning to the god. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, Is there any place you would like to see?"
"Hm..." Geno folded one of the corners of his current page, marking his place. "I..."
He looked down at the book in his lap, thinking. "I..."
Reaper let out a sigh, crossing his arms. "You don't know anything, do you?"
Something hard slammed across Reaper's face, startling him. It was Geno's novel. "I'M NOT STUPID! IT'S JUST..." He trailed off.
"Just what?"
"Just...I...haven't seen anything on the surface before."
"The surface?"
Then, it hit Reaper.
Geno sat onto the armrest-part of the couch. "Stargazing? That sounds nice."
"Yeah! There was a beautiful view and everything!"
"Huh. Y'know, I've never seen the stars before."
Reaper shot up from the couch, gawking. "WHAT!?"
"Come to think of it, I've never seen the sky either in person."
The god couldn't believe what he was hearing. "SERIOUSLY?!"
"Seriously. I've actually never been above ground in my life."
"Oh."
Geno glared at Reaper. "You forgot about that?"
"Kind of, yeah."
Another hard smack dealt by Geno's book. "GOD, YOU ARE SO IDIOTIC."
"Actually, I'm pretty charming."
Another swing of his book. Luckily, Reaper caught it this time. "I'M MORE CHARMING THAN YOU, STUPID."
"Hitting people with books isn't charming, Geno."
"IT'S MORE CHARMING THAN YOUR STUPID SMILE AND TRASHY JOKES."
"Says the person which likes my 'stupid' smile and my 'trashy' jokes."
"WELL-"
"Actually..."Life interrupted, standing behind the couch. She gave the two a smile. "I might know of something you two can do."
"Really?" Reaper smiled, extremely thankful for his friend's help.
"Yes. It is very relaxing and soothing to the soul."
~~~
Reaper let out a loud groan.
"HOW IN THE HELL IS WALKING AROUND EXCITING?!"
Geno flicked Reaper's side, growling. "You're not actually walking, you floating bastard."
"WELL, SAME DIFFERENCE."
"I BEG TO DIFFER."
The god let out a sigh, levitating at Geno's side. "Well, there isn't much to see in this woods." The scarfed skeleton nodded in agreement, taking a step forward. Reaper then smirked. "Heeey. Why don't we go 'walk' somewhere else?"
Geno rose an 'eyebrow'. "What do you me-AAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Within a few mere moments, Reaper was already soaring through the sky, Geno hanging for dear life on his back.
~~💔~~
"...Huh."
"Well?"
"This is...something."
Geno dragged in a small breathe as he stared out over the vast ocean. The thunderous waves crashed into a nearby cove, splatters of water drizzling in the breeze. The faint smell of salt drifted towards the pair. A light spray of ocean droplets delicately grazed Geno's bones.
"Wow."
"Yep. Pretty cool."
"...Coming from you, it doesn't appear so."
Reaper shrugged. "I've seen more interesting things."
"Really? Like what?"
The god gave the other a devious grin. He held out his hand. "Wanna find out?"
"Will it possibly kill me?" Geno asked, suspicion in his tone.
Reaper's smile grew wider. "It won't if you don't let it."
The scarfed skeleton's eyes went blank.
If you don't let it?
What was that supposed to mean?
With great hesitation, Geno slowly rested his hand in Reaper's, their bony fingers intertwining tightly.
"Alright, no going back." The god exclaimed, their bodies beginning to buzz.
"WH-WHAT?!" Geno yelled, beginning to panic. Reaper simply laughed, scaring Geno more. "W-WAIT, I CHANGE MY MIND-"
However, it was too late.
Their bodies were evaporating and, eventually, vanished.
"HOLY SH****T."
The skeleton lost his balance, falling forward. A set of arms reached out, catching the distressed other.
"Woah, chill. We're here." Reaper chuckled, helping Geno get to his feet.
The skeleton turned to his right, his eyes widening. "What..."
"Well, what do you think?"
"..." Geno raised his hand and gave Reaper a punch to the shoulder. "DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT!"
The god clutched his shoulder. "What?! I didn't mean to!"
"WELL, IF THIS IS ALL YOU WANTED TO SHOW ME, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SOUND SO SCARY?!"
"I WASN'T TRYING TO BE SCARY!"
"BUT YOU WERE!"
"ARE YOU SAYING THAT I SCARED YOU?"
"WELL...YEAH!"
"FINE!" Reaper wrapped a strong arm around Geno, pulling him into an awkward side-hug. "Well, I'm sorry for scaring your fragile little soul."
"Apology denied."
"WHAT?! BUT I APOLOGIZED!"
"If you actually thought that the sorry you just said was serious, you're more dense than I thought."
"FINE!" Reaper used both of his arms to pull Geno closer to himself, setting a small kiss on his skull.
Geno's face tinted blue. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!"
The god released Geno, giving him an odd look. "A KISS, DUH."
"W-WELL...it was nice."
Reaper opened his mouth, ready to retort, but closed it as the words processed in his mind. He then went blue. "O-Oh."
Geno buried his face in his scarf, turning away from Reaper. "A-Anyway, what was the point in bringing me here?"
Reaper peered at what was in front of them. "Well, I thought you would of liked it here."
"Reaper. Why would I like a tree?"
"THIS ISN'T ANY NORMAL TREE." The god eagerly floated towards it, pointing at the plant. "IT'S A MAGIC TREE."
"A...magic tree?"
"YES! JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND MAKE A WISH!"
Geno blinked at Reaper. "...are you kidding me?"
"NOPE!"
The skeleton let out a small sigh, walking towards the tree. He stared at it. "I wish-"
"WAIT." The god hurried over to Geno, landing beside him. "You got to close your eyes and THINK your wish. Say it silently."
The smaller rolled his pin-pricks before shutting his 'eyes', standing quietly in front of the tree.
After the few moments in darkness, Geno opened his eye-sockets and gazed at the tree's bark.
"Well? What did you wish for?" Reaper asked, smiling.
"I thought I was supposed to not tell anyone after these kind of things." Geno responded, elbowing Reaper.
"Awww. Come on! I won't tell anyone~."
"Alright. I wished for you to stop being so ignorant and snarky."
"PFFT. LIKE THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN!"
"Heh. I guess it was too much to wish for."
"Oh shut up. I'll always be this perfect."
"Yeah. 'Perfect'."
"Hey!"
Geno let out a small giggle. He then took Reaper's hand once more. "I think we should be heading back now."
"Yeah. Tori probably already made a gigantic spread while we were gone."
"Sounds like her."
"Come on, let's go!"
With that, they disappeared once more.
'I wish...That I Can Finally Be Happy Like I Once Was Long Ago...
...With Him. With Reaper. With...
...My Love.'
