Chapter 8 - Of Course I'm Serious

"WOOHOO NO MORE PINK HAIR!!!!!!"

"WOOHOO NO MORE PURPLE HAIR!!!!!!"

I danced around the dormitory before running to the bathroom and looking at my hair. It was black. Black. Not purple. Black. I cheered again and grinned happily.
"You seem rather excited that your hair is back to normal." Alice stated.
"Shush, let her admire her black hair." Marlene said. I smiled and walked out of the bathroom. The door burst open and Sirius ran in, with normal hair, followed closely by James, Peter and Remus. It seemed like their 'Silent Game' went for two weeks, but they still kept the leaf in their mouth. Then two weeks after that they decided to take the leaf out of their mouths. Don't worry, I don't get it either.

"NO MORE PINK HAIR!!!" Sirius shouted. "I can't believe you changed it!" He pointed at me and I shrugged.

"You changed my hair to purple first!"

"No James changed your hair. Not me. I simply agreed with him. I didn't know you were going to change my hair too!!" We both glared at James who backed away.

"How was I meant to know she was going to change your hair?" He said, throwing his hands in the air.

"You're meant to know these things Prongs." Sirius shook his head and James sighed with annoyance before glaring playfully at him.

"Anyway what are you guys doing here?" Lily asked.

"Evans will you go out with me?" James asked.

"No."

"Now that you're all here, maybe we should head down? For breakfast?" Alice suggested. The Marauders glanced at each other.

"Alright." Peter said. They walked out. James was swaggering. Sirius winked at Marlene and you could tell she was trying so hard not to blush. Remus opened a chocolate bar and smiled at me. And Peter looked like the normal person and walked normally with them. We sighed and followed them to the Gryffindor Table, before sitting where we normally sit. The Marauders sat in their usual spots or maybe it's just another, 'Marauder Spot'.

I poured the milk in my cereal and started eating. "So are you guys looking forward to the Christmas holidays?" Marlene asked. Lily and Alice nodded and I stared at my food.

"A bit. I just hope Petunia..." Lily didn't finish her sentence, but it was obvious what she meant: her complicated-and-not-so-good relationship with her sister. Alice rubbed her back. Lily sighed. "Well I can't change her. Anyway, Izzy are you looking forward to Christmas?" I chocked on my food slightly and coughed. "Isabel?"

"What? Yes I'm fine." I coughed again and swallowed. "Wait no! No I'm not really looking forward to the Christmas holidays." They frowned.

"Why not?" I sighed.

"I don't really want to see my father." I admitted.

"Why not?" Marlene questioned.

"I don't have the best relationship with him..." I started to fiddle with my sleeves and gloves, which I had no idea I was still wearing. They looked at me with worry.

"What does he do? We can go upstairs and talk about it." Alice said softly. I nodded and stood up.

"Hey Fall!" James yelled when we passed him. I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

"Yes?" I replied.

"Do you play Quidditch?" Sirius spat out the Pumpkin Juice in his mouth and looked at James in shock. I frowned.

"Her? Why her?" He questioned James.

"She might be good at something for once."

"Excuse me?" I crossed my arms. "And no, I don't play Quidditch." This time it was Remus who spat out the Pumpkin Juice in his mouth.

"You don't play Quidditch?" He asked with wide eyes.

"Not really. I love Quidditch but I don't play it. What's so surprising about that?"

"Well you look like someone that could play Quidditch."

"Thanks... Do you guys play?"

"Yes." James grinned. I rolled my eyes.

"Of course you do. What's next? You're Quidditch Captain and you're asking me if I play 'cause you're looking for people that want to try-out?" His jaw drop and he stayed silent for a while.

"Are you skilled in Legilimency?"

"No! And by the way I am good at things!" James crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh really? Like what?"

"Like coming up with good insults for people like you." Lily stated.

"No to mention she's done all the potion work when you haven't." Marlene added.

"And she's good at Pranking too." Alice said. "She's like-"

"If you're going to call me a female Marauder. Don't. I'm not one of those things." I pointed at the four and they glared at me.

"So stop wasting our time. We have things to discuss." Lily said. "And no I'm not going out with you." James frowned as we walked off.

"Not yet!!" He yelled. Lily scoffed and rolled her eyes.

We walked to our dormitory and Alice locked the door. I sat down on my bed and sighed.

"What do you mean you don't want to see your father?" Marlene asked and sat beside me.

"Well...I don't wear jumpers and gloves for no reason." I stated and slowly took my gloves off.

"We thought you were just... cold." Lily said. I managed a smile.

"I wish that was the reason. But I have cuts, scars and bruises..." Their eyes widened as I rolled up my sleeves, showing the bruises on my arms.

"Isabel... does your father... abuse you...?" I looked up at Lily and nodded grimly.

"That's why I don't want to go back. But I have t-to. I don't have anywhere else to go." I started crying softly. Marlene rubbed my back.

"How long-"

"A year... ever since my sister's death. H-he blames me for it..." I put my head in my hands. "But he brought the bloody car, which led to that bloody night which led to her-" I was crying freely now.

"Hey it's okay..." Marlene pulled me into a hug gently. She rubbed my back. "If it gets worse... you can come stay at our house... okay?" I looked at her.

"T-thank you." I smiled slightly and wiped my eyes.

"I'm so sorry..." Lily said, looking at me with sympathy. I nodded and sighed.

"Is that an owl?" Alice said suddenly. She pointed to the window and we saw a black owl, pecking on the glass with a letter in its claws.

"That's my family owl." I said and got up. I walked over to the window. "Please say I can stay. Please say I can stay." I begged silently and opened the window. Our family owl, Tempest, dropped the letter in my hands and flew inside. I opened the letter and started reading:

Dear Isabel,

How come we have not received a letter from you since the start if term?

"I've been busy." I said. "With studies... and pranks."

"You've been busy with pranks more then studies." Lily added.

"I'm going to ignore that."

Well that is beside the point of this letter. Zoe will be coming over to stay on the Christmas holidays,

My eyes widened and I smiled happily. "YES!!"

"What?" Marlene questioned.

"My cousin, Zoe is going to stay with us on the Christmas holidays! She's like one of my best friends and we used to do everything together, like twins... That was until we moved here... and my father doesn't beat me up when she's around!" I blurted out.

"That's great! That's great, right?"

But she is only staying for two weeks.

"NO!!!!"

"What?" Lily questioned this time.

"She's only staying for two weeks!! The holidays are how long? A month?"

"Oh...."

Hope you don't mind. We will see you soon and we hope we receive a letter from you sometime.

~Mum

"Well at least your cousin is staying. Right?" Alice stated.

"True true." I sighed. "Should we go back downstairs now?"

"Alright." Lily said and we all stood up. I put my gloves back on and we walked back downstairs.

"Hey Isabel, do you realise that since it's almost Christmas Holidays, the Pranking War between you and the Marauders are ending soon." Marlene stated.

"Oh yeah! Dammit, I need to get a move on...." I mumbled.

"Ms Fall!" I turned around and saw Professor McGonagall.

"Yes Professor?" I questioned, slightly confused.

"You must already know about the Quidditch Tournament we have here?"

"So there's actually a competition with Quidditch?" I looked at the girls and they nodded. "Cool!"

"Everyone gets really competitive." Alice whispered in my ear.

"Ahh okay."

"The four houses have their own teams and captains then they play against each other for the Quidditch Cup. Which will be presented at the end of the year." McGonagall continued. "However I am very disappointed in the Gryffindor Captain-"

"Which is James?"

"Well yes. I assume Mr Potter is holding tryouts today. But that is beside the point, I was wondering if you were interested in being commentator." I grinned.

"Commentator? For the games?"

"Yes."

"I would love to!!" I exclaimed. "And I'll try to make it as interesting as possible!! I'll also try not to insult anyone, especially the um... Gryffindor Captain."

"Whatever is going on between you and Mr Potter, I hope will not be demonstrated at the Quidditch Games."

"Like kissing?" Lily said jokingly. I gagged and covered my mouth because I felt puking.

"EW NO NO NO LILY HE'S YOURS." I yelled, almost jumping up and down. "And Professor I'm sure they're will be no insulting. I can't make any promises though."

"Very well. I expect to see you next week in the stands where all the teachers sit." McGonagall walked off and I grinned.

"You're commentator!" Marlene exclaimed.

"Oh this is going to be fun." I stated. "And really Lily? No!"

"Oh well." Lily shrugged,

"He's all yours by the way. You don't have to worry about anyone standing on the way." I grinned as her jaw dropped.

"What's that meant to mean?"

"Gee I don't know. I'm going to go now." I ran off.

"What? Oi Izzy!!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today was the first game and I think no one knew that I was commentator except for Marlene, Alice, Lily and of course Professor McGonagall. We sat in the Great Hall eating breakfast. A few Gryffindors, including James, were in Quidditch Robes. Speaking of James, he wasn't eating and he looked to nervous to do anything.
"Come on Prongs you have to get your energy up." Peter stated. James shook his head.
"I'm not hungry." He answered.
"Yes you are. Just eat a bit." Sirius said.
"I'll give you some chocolate." Remus said.
"Wait really?" James started.
"Um... no..."
"Oh well..."
"James just eat something." Marlene said suddenly and we moved over to them. James looked at her.
"I'm not hungry." He said again. Marlene continued to look at him as if careful not to meet Sirius's eyes.
"Would the Gryffindor Team really want their captain to be hungry and non-energetic for the first game of the season?" James frowned.
"I'm still not hungry."
"Will anything convince you?" Lily asked.
"If you go on a date with me." James grinned. She rolled her eyes.
"Never mind."
"Eat something or I'll hex you." I said threateningly. He looked at me and frowned.
"Oh really?" James said. I took out my wand and pointed it at him.
"Eat something." He frowned even more and slowly took a bite out of the toast bread in his hand. I grinned.
"Do you know who the new commentator is?" Sirius asked suddenly.
"Nope!" I said quickly, trying not to laugh. The girls shook their heads, grinning. The Marauders looked at us and raised an eyebrow.
"Do you know something we don't?" James said.
"Oh yeah! I know that you're a stupid idiot." The girls laughed again. I looked at my watch. "Oh I have to go!" I stood up.
"Fall! I am not an idiot!!"
"Yes you are!!" I yelled and ran out of the Great Hall.
I walked to the Quidditch Pitch and to the teachers' stands, where McGonagall was waiting.
"Glad you could make it Ms Fall." She started. "Now, you'll have to sit here to access the microphone which is here." She pointed to the microphone and large speaker, which was at the front. "You will also have to keep up with the scores. Gryffindor and Slytherin are playing against each other today." I nodded and sat down in front of the microphone, scoreboard and the list of players in the two teams. I grabbed the microphone and tapped it. The noise echoed around the Pitch.
"Cool..." Students started walking in. Gryffindors and Slytherins were shooting glares at each other. A few Gryffindor sixth-years held a giant banner that said Gryffindor with a lion beside it. Nearly every Gryffindor was wearing Gryffindor merchandise. The same with the Slytherins. The Gryffindors sat on my right and the Slytherins on the left. Everyone cheered as the teams flew onto the Pitch. I could see James in front of the Gryffindor Team and a boy at looked a lot like Sirius on the Slytherin Team.
"Okay..." I sighed and grabbed the microphone, before yelling. "Hello everyone!! Welcome to the first Qudditch Match of the season!! SLYTHERIN VERSUS GRYFFINDOR!!!" Everyone cheered. "I'm Isabel Fall, if you didn't know me and I'll be your commentator-"
"Are you serious??" I heard Sirius yell. I looked at him and grinned.
"Of course I'm serious... Sirius." I cleared my throat. "Anyway, The Quaffle is released and the GAME BEGINS!! So... Gryffindor Captain, James Potter has the Quaffle. Now for all you fan girls out there - If he has any -  James is single and ready to mingle if your name is Lily Evans...."
"ISABEL!!" I heard Lily shout. James grinned at me as he flew to one of the hoops.
"The Slytherin Chasers are at his tail and honestly just throw the bloody Quaffle!! Or not... Potter passes it to Turner. I think that's Turner anyway. So Turner flies to one of the hoops and are you scoring?!? Look there's an open space there!! You can easily score!! Fine pass it to - wait who's that?" I looked down at the list of teams. "Curt Hayden! Okay cool so now can you score?!"
"YES HE THREW THE QUAFFLE!!! See Potter you need to see what he's doing and follow- NO YOU STUPID LITTLE SLYTHERIN SLIME BALL!!! WHY DID YOU BLOCK THE QUAFFLE YOU IDIOTIC, B-"
"Ms Fall!" McGonagall . I smiled sheepishly.
"Sorry Professor." I cleared my throat. "Oh look! Lockley hits that Bludger perfectly and hit that poor Slytherin Chaser." The Slytherins started booing. "Oh shut up!! Just admit it OUR TEAM IS BETTER THEN YOUR STINKY LITTLE-"
"Fall! Focus on the game!"
"Sorry Professor. Now Potter has the Quaffle! Now can you actually play - Why the BLOODY HELL DID YOU BUMP INTO THAT SLYTHERIN CHASER?!? LIKE WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU STUPID, ANNOYING, ARROGANT-"
"Ms Fall this is the last time!"
"GOOD YOU STILL HAVE THE QUAFFLE!! AND POTTER SCORES FOR GRYFFINDOR!! YES!!!" The Gryffindors cheered as I changed the score on the mini scoreboard. "See ladies and gentlemen, even arrogant, big-headed toe-rags can play Quidditch."
"The score is 20-10, GRYFFINDOR IS IN THE LEAD!!!" The Gryffindors cheered. "Now the bloody Slytherins need to get a move on. But maybe not cause you all suck. But they have the Quaffle! NO!! THE BLUDGER MISSED!! Flemming - you're Flemming right? - Well anyway, you need to aim better!" I looked down at the Pitch and saw two players dive down. "THE SNITCH HAS BEEN SPOTTED!! DALEY AND WAIT -" I looked down at the list again and saw the name Regulus Black. "DALEY AND REGULUS BLACK HAVE SPOTTED THE SNITCH!!!! And Sirius has a brother? Huh." I whispered then looked back at the game. "AND DALEY CATCHES THE SNITCH!!! GRYFFINDOR WINS!!! IN YOUR FACE YOU SLIMY IDIOTS!!! HA!! GRYFFINDORS WINS AND YOU DON'T!!!!"
"Ms Fall calm down!"
