Chapter 23 - You Wish
"Lily, go away. I'm sleeping."
Lily groaned and shook me again. "You need to wake up. We have to go to the Hogsmede-"
"Well I'm not so eager to go home so... Let me sleep."
"Ugh." Then suddenly I was pushed off the bed. I screamed and groaned. I opened my eyes and glared at her. Alice and Marlene laughed slightly.
"Ow! Lily!"
"Come on. Let's go." It was the last day of school and I had finally been able to catch up on sleep, until someone pushed me out of bed.
"Nicest girl my arse." I muttered and got up. I walked to the bathroom to have a shower.
After I was done I changed into black shorts, a white singlet and a red and white plaid unbuttoned shirt to cover my scars and bruises. I grabbed my trunk, which I packed the night before and walked downstairs.
I pulled my trunk along with much difficulty. Then, suddenly, something crawled on my back. It moved toward my neck and I shivered.
It moved towards my head and I screamed.
Then someone else screamed.
And another scream filled the air.
"Merlin..." Someone muttered.
I turned around furiously. "What the Blood hell- Oh it's you four!! Why am I not surprised?!" James and Sirius crossed their arms. Remus rolled his eyes. Peter shrugged and smiled innocently.
"Why did you scream?" James asked, rubbing his ear. I glared at him.
"Because I thought there was a spider on my back!!"
"Yeah... that was Sirius."
Sirius gasped dramatically. "No it wasn't! It was James!"
"Sirius,"
"James." I crossed my arms and glared at them.
"Sirius!"
"James!"
"Sirius!"
"James!"
"Sirius!"
"It was James." Remus stated and rolled his eyes.
"MOONY!!!"
I glared at James and crossed my arms. "Why did you scream?!"
James frowned. "I didn't scream. That was also Sirius-"
"Hey!" Sirius yelled. "Okay, I did scream, but only because Prongs scream-"
"I didn't scream!"
"Yes you did." Peter said, frowning.
James scoffed and shook his head. "No. I didn't."
"Yes you did-"
"Okay!" Remus stepped forward. "James had the spider on your back-"
"There was an actual spider?" I asked with wide eyes.
"No, it was his hand. Then you screamed, James screamed and Sirius screamed."
"Moony." James started. "I feel betrayed." Remus rolled his eyes.
"Oh and it was Sirius's idea as well."
"Remus!" Sirius gasped dramatically again. "What? Is today 'blame Sirius on everything' day."
"That should be a thing." I stated.
He glared and pointed at me. "You. Shut up."
"I don't want to." I grinned. "I need to write that down. What date is it today-"
"Are you serious?!" I smirked at him.
"No you are."
Sirius froze and blinked, suddenly realising what he said. James slowly started clapping.
"Y-you should-" Sirius stuttered, trying to think of something to say. "Go fall down the stairs or something..."
James's slow clap got louder.
I laughed. "Yeah sure I will." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my trunk. I started pulling it down the stairs again. Suddenly, I slipped on something and fell down. Luckily, someone grabbed my arm and pulled me back up.
"Thanks." I said to Remus, who let go of my arm.
"Anytime." He replied. James and Sirius started laughing.
"Oh look! You were actually going to fall down the stairs!" Sirius said, laughing. I glared at him.
"I hate you." I said, walking carefully down the stairs.
"No you don't. You love me really."
I scoffed. "You wish." I walked off.
"You love me!! Isabel Fall loves me!!"
I walked into the Common Room and everyone turned to me. My eyes widened .
"SIRIUS BLACK TAKE THAT BACK NOW!!!!" I shouted.
"Never!!" Sirius ran past me and out of the Common Room.
"What does Marlene see in him...?" I mumbled and looked at everyone. "Okay! You know how Sirius is!! He lies!! Okay?! Good! Bloody hell..."
I waited with Lily, Alice and Marlene, who thankfully didn't hear Sirius's announcement. The train pulled up and we boarded the train.
"You're coming with us." Marlene grabbed Lily's hand.
"But I'm a Prefect and-" Lily started.
"Come on! Remus sat with the other Marauders last time!"
"So that's where he was..."
"Yeah! So come sit with us!"
"But-"
"You're not going to be able to convince her." Alice stated, making Marlene smile innocently.
"Ugh. Marlene just-"
"Come on!" Marlene shouted. "Please please please!!"
"No!"
"Please please please please please please please please please please please please please-"
"Fine! I will!"
"YES FINALLY!!"
Marlene grinned and dragged Lily onto the train and to an empty compartment.
"That worked..." Alice muttered. I laughed.
"Yep." We walked into the compartment and sat down across from them.
The train started moving and I grabbed my glasses from my bag. I stopped suddenly, my eyes widening. I dropped my glasses and pulled everything out of my bag, which only was my wand and a bar of chocolate.
"Remus would be proud..." Lily stated, picking up the chocolate bar.
"No no no." I said, searching around.
"What?"
"Do any of you have a book?!" I asked anxiously.
"No..."
"Nope." Alice said. "Why?"
"I forgot my book!!" I yelled. "Do you think there's a way I could get it!!"
"Isabel, the trunks are like away, you can't go to your trunk." Marlene said. I groaned and sighed.
"I'll be back. I'm going to go look for a book." I stood up and walked out of the compartment.
Sure I did look for a book, in every single compartment. I got many odd looks from many people, who all said "We don't have any." I sighed and walked to the next compartment, deeply regretting it after.
"Hey Fall!! Long time no-"
"Do you have a book?!" I asked staring at Remus and ignoring the other three Marauders.
James sighed with annoyance. "Good to see you too."
"I wish I could say the same thing. Remus, do you have a book?!"
"Um-" But Remus was interrupted by James.
"Hey! You're mean."
I groaned and glared at him. "Thank you."
"That wasn't meant to be a complement."
"I know." We glared at each other then I looked at Remus again. "Give me a book before I die."
"So don't give her the book Moony." Peter stated, grinning at me.
"Hey nice one Wormtail!" Sirius gave Peter a high-five and I glared at both of them.
They both stopped grinning and sat down then in unison they said. "Give her the book."
I smirked at them and looked at Remus, who was staring at Peter and Sirius like they were some aliens from another planet.
"Please I'm dying I need a book." I begged again.
"I'm using my book now..." Remus stated, holding his book up.
"Please Remus! I'll do anything I swear!"
"Like?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
"I don't know! I'll think of something! Just give me the book before I go insane!!"
Suddenly James coughed loudly. "Like you're not insane-" He coughed again. "Enough." I shot him a furious glare. "Sorry, I think I'm getting sick."
I rolled my eyes and started rummaging through my bag. "Please Remus! I- I'll give you this chocolate bar!" I held up my chocolate and his eyes lit up.
"Wait so you didn't have a book but you had chocolate?" Peter questioned, confused.
"Remus, what have you done to her?" Sirius asked.
"Come on, book for the chocolate!" Remus looked at his book then back at the chocolate bar with a hungry expression. "You know you want it! This delicious chocolate bar..."
"Okay!" Remus said and handed me the book. I grinned.
"Thank you so much!" I exclaimed and attacked him with a hug. He seemed surprised at first, before slowly hugging me back.
"You welcome." I broke the hug and looked at the cover of the book.
"What's it about?" I asked, flipping the book over.
"Oh it's a muggle book about-"
"Do we get hugs too?" Sirius asked loudly.
"No." I said, making him, James and Peter gasp dramatically.
"What?!"
"Why?! What makes Remus so special?!"
"I thought you loved me!!"
"Never did." I mumbled and opened Remus's book, before sitting down beside him. Remus chuckled and grinned at the other three.
"Shut up Remus." Peter said and crossed his arms.
"I didn't say anything." He replied. They rolled their eyes.
"Now that I have my book, I'm going to go." I said and stood up.
"What? Why?!" Sirius asked.
"Because I have better people to hang out with."
"That's not fair! Come sit with us Fall." James stated, pointing to where I was sitting.
"Why are you going to miss me?" I asked innocently and pouted.
"Get out. You can go." James stood up and started to push me out of the door. "Get out. Get out."
"Are you saying you will?"
"No! You know what just go! We don't want you here! Get out!" Once I was out the compartment, he shut the door furiously, making me grin.
"You know the Marauders always joke about me loving them! Which obviously isn't true!" I said loudly, catching James's attention. "Sometimes I think it's the other way round!"
"Sirius why have you influenced her to say stuff like that which obviously is a lie!" I heard James say.
"I did nothing!" Sirius protested. I laughed and walked off.
I walked to the compartment with the girls and walked inside. But now, Frank Longbottom joined them, he was sitting next to Alice, holding her hand.
"Hi Frank!" I greeted.
"Hey Isabel. How are you?"
"I'm good. What are you doing here?"
"He just asked Alice to be his girlfriend!" Marlene squealed. I gasped and Alice and Frank blushed.
"So that's why you're holding hands! Oh my gosh! Took you long enough! I've only known you for a year and I have no idea how it must've felt like for Lily and Marlene-"
"Yeah well, they just stopped grinning like idiots." Alice stated. "Anyway, who's book did you get? And what took you so long?"
"I have a book. It's Remus's-"
"Enough said, you don't need to explain anymore." Lily said. I smirked and sat down beside her, finally having time to read.
The train came to a halt and we walked out of the compartment. I sighed deeply, somehow remembering the house I had to call home.
"Write letters to us will you?" Marlene said.
"I will." I sighed.
"Maybe you father won't do anything anymore, considering you have a brother now." Alice stated.
"I highly doubt it."
"Keep in touch though-"
"Hey Fall!" I turned around and saw the Marauders swaggering towards me. "You okay? You look tense." James stated. Lily slowly moved away from him.
"I'm fine... just anxious that's all."
"It'll be fine." Sirius said and looked around. "Is your hot cousin here?"
"Sirius!!"
"What? It was an honest question..." The others laughed as I groaned and rolled my eyes.
"No she's not here!"
"Aww what a shame."
"That better be sarcasm." Sirius frowned.
"Why would it be-" I glared and raised an eyebrow at him. "It was sarcasm. It was definitely sarcasm."
"Good. Oh Remus! Here's your book." I handed Remus his book.
"Thanks. I would give you back the chocolate but that's gone... so." Remus said slowly. I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"I'm not surprised." I looked around and I spotted my mother. Standing beside her was a young boy around eight or nine, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Is that him?" James questioned, looking directly at my mother and brother. I sighed sadly.
"Oh that poor child..."
