One Demon at a Time: Chap 28

Rapunzel's POV

Fear pricked in all my nerves putting me on alert. "Rapunzel." She said sweetly. "Haven't you missed your mother?" I shook my head not able to find the words to speak. "I told you the world could be cruel. I didn't want to reunite this way." "Stay away from me." I said my voice shaking with every word.

"Will you sing for be darling?" She asked. "I will never sing for you." "Sweetheart you know how I hate the mumbling." she said. "I Will Never Sing For You! Did I mumble that time mother?" I spit out.

"You are going to sing for me one way or another. You can do it willingly or I'm going to have to force you." Two bulky guys came up behind her and smirked evilly at me. "Tell me princess, Hows Flynn doing?" One of them asked. Oh no, Eugene. Wait! Eugene!

'Eugene?' I called out to him. 'Rapunzel!!?? Are you alright?' 'You have to come save me Eugene.' I cried. 'But you're standing right in front of me.' I gasped. 'That's not me.'

Elsa's POV

I was afraid of what would happen when Jack woke up. Was he still going to be himself or was he going to be like Pitch and His father. I held onto his hand tightly before Eugene touched my shoulder. "We have to talk." he said to me. I nodded and followed him to the other side of the room. "What is it?" I asked.

"Rapunzel just talked to me." "What did she say?" "That's the thing, that one didn't. Rapunzel was taken by the dark lord. That isn't her." My eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean that's not her?" "Well we have been able to talk to each other in our heads. Punzie told me she's with Pitch. Therefore that thing right there, is not her."

"Rapunzel?" I asked. It turned around and smiled at us. "What's up?" It asked. I was about to confront her when a loud gasp was heard from the couch. I snapped my attention to the red eyed Jack that stared directly at me. "Elsa." he whispered. He jumped over the couch and made his way towards me but I flinched back making him stop.

His face contorted into confusion and he looked at one of the mirrored walls to see his reflection. He stepped closer and held his hand up to his eyes. "Elsa, let me explain." he said whipping towards me. Eugene stepped in front of me to shield me away from him. In truth I was afraid of the dark Jack. He was evil and cruel.

"Get out of my way Eugene." Jack demanded with venom dripping from his voice. "What happened to your eyes?" I asked from behind Eugene's back. "Let me see your face and I'll explain." he said quietly. I inhaled and stepped around Eugene to stare into his red eyes. "The only way I was going to win was if I turned dark. I have more power now. Power to beat him."

"Destined for greatness or destined for darkness." I whispered. He took a step towards me and I tensed feeling fear crawl across my skin. He seemed to sense my distress and stepped back. "I'm not going to hurt you, I would never hurt you." he said looking at me with soft eyes. "Like the day you threatened to kill Eugene." I shot at him seeing hurt fill his red eyes.

"Elsa I-" I held my hand up fighting back tears. "Don't okay." I wrapped my arms myself and walked over to Merida who was watching Jack ready to attack if he tried anything. I turned to face him when the fake Rapunzel walked towards him. Jack it's not Rapunzel, Pitch took her. I told him making his head snap to me. He looked back to the blonde thing in front of him and he grabbed her neck making it gasp for air.

"Jack what are you doing?" It chocked out making him squeeze harder. I knew it wasn't her but I was horrified at the sight of Jack's hand wrapped around its throat. I turned away hearing the sickening crack of her neck. I held back a gag as I slowly turned to face a smiling Jack. Why was he smiling? He looked at me and his smile faded when he saw my disgust and shocked expression. "Elsa, I-I don't know what came over me." I shook my head and let a tear slip down my cheek.

He ran to me in lightening speed and wiped the tear with his thumb. "I'm sorry. Please, I did this for a reason, we can beat him now." "GET AWAY FROM ME!" I yelled shooting my hands towards him. He flung across the room smashing the mirror when his back connected with it. The shards fell to the floor with him. Ice began to form at my feet, I was losing control. Breathe Elsa Breathe. Anna touched my arm making me flinch back instantly.

Jack pushed himself up his eyes bright red with anger. "You will not treat me like that B!&@$!" He ran to me grabbing my throat. "JACK! STOP!" I heard someone yell as my airway got cut off. I gasped as I clawed at his hand. My vision became dark around the edges before he released me. I sucked in as much air as I could get into my lungs as I collapsed to my knees clutching my throat. "Elsa? I'm so sorry." Anna helped me to my feet to see Jack's shocked face before he ran out slamming the door shut. "Jack!" I tried to yell but my voice was hoarse and barely made any noise at all.

"We have to go after him." I said barely recognizing my own voice. "He's not himself anymore. The darkness will corrupt him like it did before." said Merida playing with her bow string. "We are going to have to fight him on our own." Eugene said. "But we need to get Punzie first." Said Kristoff rubbing Anna's back. "But the question is, where is she?"

Jack's POV

I ran out of the school and into the snow filled with so much rage and anger. I clutched my staff tightly and flew into the sky. Why was I so angry? Why did I hurt Elsa? It was like I blacked out and when I woke up I was staring at my hand wrapped around her throat.

'You're going to be the one to kill her.' Pitch's words echoed in my head. Was this what he meant? Was I going to kill her? I felt like I was going to throw up. I landed barefoot in the snow and placed a hand over my stomach before I threw up.

I need to stay as far away as possible. I can't hurt her. "Well look what we have here!" I looked up and my body filled with rage as I looked into his Yellow eyes. "Where's Rapunzel?" I demanded. He rolled his eyes. "Jack if you bring her back is not gonna make Elsa love you again. Face it, she hates you." I shook my head while I grabbed fistfuls of my hair. "She's better alone then with me." "Is that so?" He said with a laugh.

"What did you do?" I asked him trying not to rip his head off. "More importantly, what did you do?" He chuckled and I lost my cool. I swung my staff at him making ice shoot out in his direction. He laughed "I see that you're filled with anger!" He laughed before throwing his darkness towards me. I jumped over it swinging my sword at him again but he blocked it.

A huge sculpture was left in its place. It was jagged and stood a few feet taller then me. "See what we can do Jack! This is what we can do! Help me rule, rule with me." "No I will not become someone like you!" I shouted back. "You want to be alone then, done." Rapunzel appeared behind him after he snapped his fingers. I tried to run towards her but he held his hand out. "Nah ah ah. The staff Jack." I looked into Punzies scared face and something in me snapped.

I held my staff out to him before he forcefully took it. He laughed before he snapped it over his knee. I yelled in agony as pain shot through my entire body. I grabbed at my chest falling to my knees. But then it turned into a dull ache before I began to feel impossibly tired. "You are so naive Jack! When you turn your body attaches itself to something of precious value." He laughed caressing Punzies cheek.

She had tears falling down her face and she kept screaming something at me but I couldn't understand because of the gag in her mouth. "I'm sorry." I mouthed to her. Before I felt his darkness against my body as it flew me back into a wall of ice. My body felt weightless as I plummeted down the ice walls hearing Punzies screams against the cloth.

My body ached all over as I landed on the ground. I couldn't breathe but I was too tired to care. "Stay out of my way." the sound of something falling down the crevice filled my ears until it landed on top of me. I curled myself in and let the exhaustion take over.

"Don't give up Jack. Your friends need you." "I'm too tried." I told Manny. "That doesn't mean you give up. This war isn't going to win itself." "They hate me, because of what I did." "And you need to show them why they shouldn't hate you." I pushed myself up and looked towards my broken staff. Using all the energy I had left I grabbed the two piece and sighed. "Is what he said about the life source true?" "Yes your being attached itself to that staff. Your power stores itself in two objects because you would most likely lose your mind if it was all stored inside of you. Like it is right now, your body will slowly begin to shut down."

I put the two ends back together and concentrated wholeheartedly on its wooden surface. "Come on!" I yelled. Suddenly blue ice shot from my hands and crawled towards the broken edges mending them together slowly. It glowed a bright blue before I could feel myself get my strength back. It was like I had slept for a thousand years. I shot towards the sky and went directly back to the school. I would show them that I shouldn't be hated. I saved them.

Elsa's POV

"It's too dangerous for you to leave." I said trying to convince them to stay. Merida and Hiccup were leaving to go find help at their homelands. I'm not saying we didn't need the help but Pitch is dangerous. "Elsa we will be fine. It's worth the risk to get Berk and Merida's family on our side. We need all the help we can get." Hiccup said. "He's right Elsa. We need to do this if we want any chance at winning." Merida said wrapping her arms tightly around Hiccup. "Not to mention the strength and will that the clans will bring." she pointed out.

"Just be careful." Eugene said wrapping an arm around me. "Lets go back inside." Anna said. I let Eugene lead me back inside the school. "Elsa they will be fine, we need everyone we can get on our side." Eugene said leading me to the couch. I sat down and felt like my arm caught on fire. "Aahhh!" I screamed falling onto the floor.

"Elsa?! What's wrong?!" Eugene asked kneeling down in front of me. "Jack..." I managed to get out. "He's in trouble." The door the burst open and Jack came trailing inside. "Actually you're the ones who are going to be in trouble." He said with a smirk. "I saved all of your asses and this is how you thank me? Tell me I'm evil! You are alive because of what I did!" He yelled pointing his staff at us.

"Where's Hiccup? Merida?" He demanded. "They went to get help." Eugene told him holding up his hands. "We need to get Rapunzel back." I looked more closely to see the red in his eyes were glowing more radiant. "You're the only one who can help us. You've been there before." He smirked. "So you do need my help." He chuckled raising his hand in the air.

"I have been there, but I don't remember getting there. But I do remember what it looked like... or rather what I saw." he said. "I remember people in cages, Kristoff's parents were there." Kristoff stepped away from Anna with a confused look on his face. "What?" He asked. "I've been getting letters from them for weeks." Jack shook his head. "I don't think they're from them." Kristoff sat back down completely lost in thought. I could see the emotions swirl behind his eyes to find out his parents weren't safe. "But there was a million different cages all hanging from the ceiling, it was made of stone and there was this globe of the world that had lights on it." Jack began pacing around the room obviously trying to think. But we needed to hurry, Punzie could be in serious danger.

"Actually she's fine." our head shot towards the door to see Hans walk in with a few others behind him. "Anna, I'm sorry I have to do this. You could of joined us." Anna spit at him making Hans chuckle deeply. "Where's Rapunzel?" Eugene demanded only making Hans evilly chuckle again. They all pulled out their wands and pointed them at us.

"Jack, don't you want to finish your time in the maze?" With the wave of their wands it was like we were transported to a dark bushy place. Was this the final task? I looked around to see the only way out was to go deeper. I ran my gloved hand over the greenery only to have it shoot out roots. They wrapped themselves around my wrist and my calf. I fell over and screamed as the bush pulled me towards it. I clawed at the dirt trying my best to get free. Ripping off my glove I turned towards the bush and shot my hands forward. It was angry by my movements but it let me go now frozen.

I stood up and backed away making sure I didn't touch the other wall. Breathe Elsa, you can do this. The wall shook itself off and I watched frozen as my ice fell to the ground slowly melting. There was suddenly a large gust of wind with a loud gargling sound. All my instincts told me to run, so that's what I did.

Looking behind me I could see the tall bush walls begin to close themselves shut. I turned the soonest left and continued down the path only to run into something hard. I looked up to see Kristoff looking as if he had seen a ghost. "Elsa? Is that you?" I nodded looking over my shoulder to see that walls hadn't followed me. "Lets get going. Don't touch the walls." I told him flatly. "They close I know." he said as we started walking. "That's not the only thing they do." I stated.

Kristoff walked in front of me as we made our way down the narrow paths. I had an irritating itch, like we were being watched. I check over my shoulder to see a black figure move. I sucked in a breathe and started to walk faster only to run into a completely stopped Kristoff. "Why are we stopping?" I asked hearing my voice shake.

I wrapped my arms around themselves and looked over his shoulder to see Hans holding his wand at Kristoff's face. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do this. You stole Anna away from me. A chance to have power." Kristoff was making hand motions behind his back. Is he telling me to leave? I can't leave him. "A chance to have power?" He asked his voice full of confidence.

"Elsa and Anna's parents are royal's. But I'm guessing you didn't know that. Elsa was next in line for the throne, to rule the muggle and wizard world. Why do you think we killed them?" My heart broke into two as the words came out of his mouth but I was still greatly confused. I was a Princess? I'm royalty? I shook my head and began to walk away. I need to find Jack.

I turned the closest path only to have an angry bush waiting for me. It began to close behind me as my feet pounded on the ground. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears as the bush closed behind me, faster then it had the first time. I kept running, the bush following me. Is it herding me towards something? I stopped abruptly and turned around holding my hands out. I shut my eyes tightly and felt the bush come in contact with my hands. The whooshing sound stopped and I peaked open my eyes to see what I had done.

The entire bush was ice and it seemed to continue spreading. My ice crawled its way across the ground and the bush walls freezing everything it touched. What have I done? My heart was still beating fast as I wrapped my arms around myself. I needed to stop the bush but I didn't need to freeze the entire country! Control it Elsa. I tried to stop it from spreading but my ice continued to spread rapidly, like wildfire.

"Elsa!" I turned around to see Jack making his way towards me. When he was close enough he took my shocked body into his arms. "You did this?" He asked. I nodded pushing myself closer to him. He seemed shocked by my movement but didn't hesitate to pull me as close as he could. I was in love with him, I couldn't deny it any longer. It didn't matter if he was dark or not, I would still be in love with him, the real Jack. I pulled away just enough to press my lips to his. He didn't even hesitate to kiss me back.

"I love you." I whispered to him after I pulled away. His eyes widened in utter shock. "But y-you-" I held my finger up and pressed it to his lips. "I am in love with you Jack Frost." A smile spread across his lips as he kissed me again. "I love you too. I think I have for a while." He laughed pressing his lips to mine. "I'm sorry." he said quietly. "For what?" I asked confused. "For turning dark, killing people... I'm not good enough for you. I never have been." I squeezed his face between my hands but I quickly removed them remembering I don't have my gloves on. "Don't say that. You are good enough for me. I don't care, you're the only person I want." A blush made its way onto his face before he smiled.

A sudden snap caught both of our attention. "We have to get out of here. Have you seen the others?" He asked. "I saw Kristoff but we ran into Hans, Kristoff helped me get away." I told him quietly feeling the guilt of leaving him behind, who knows what Hans could do to him. "Can't we just fly over the walls?" I asked him. "No, I already tried. There must be a spell or something keeping us in. The only way out is through the maze." (maze runner quote <3)

He took my hand in his and began to pull me along. The whole place was like a winter wonderland because of me. Ice and snow covered the ground and the green of the bushes could no longer be seen through the white of the frost. I tried to unfreeze it but I couldn't control it. I was getting frustrated, I needed to be able to control it.

~

The sun began to rise as we tried to find our way out. We hadn't run into any of the others and I was getting nervous about Anna being all alone. But then we saw it. The end.

Jack smiled down at me before we both ran towards the glowing blue light. "This was supposed to be the third task." I stated looking at the blue glowing trophy. He nodded looking it over. "I think it's a portkey." I raised my eyebrow at him. "Its like a transporter, its designed to go to the beginning after the task is over. But there's no telling where it will go now."

"Get away from that." we both turned around to see Hans with a beat up face. Blood gushed from his broken nose and his eyes were badly bruised. Jack pushed me behind him and held his staff out. "Oh Jack, we could of been a great team." Hans said before spitting out some blood. "Who created the swinter? Winter in the summer not something you see often." He chuckled.

"Your sister Elsa, was a very easy kill. Didn't even fight back." My heart sank before rage bubbled in my veins. I stepped into view and he smirked. "Does that hurt your feelings? Oh boohoo." I shot my hand towards him hitting his wand with my ice. He dropped his wand and Jack's quick reflects caught it before it fell. Jack handed me the wand considering it was now mine.

He backed away slowly with his hands up. "Please don't." He pleaded. "It's too late for that." I told him. I didn't use his wand as I stuck his heart with my ice. "There's only one way to unfreeze a frozen heart." I told him. "It's too bad there's no one here that loves you." I grabbed Jacks hand and grabbed the cup.

It was like the whole world swirled together and it felt like my body wasn't even attached to me. We fell to the ground with a thud and the sudden wave of nausea hit me like a tidal pool. My stomach lurched but I held down my bile. "You okay?" Jack asked me. I gave him a quick nodded before we finally took in our surroundings.

"Eugene?!" Jack yelled running over to the body near the left. I rushed over too to see Eugene was pretty beaten up. "Hans tried to rough me up. He thought I was done and the bush took me in and brought me back here. I feel like I've gotten run over by a truck." Jack laughed. "Well you certainly look like it." Eugene laughed and grunted as he sat up.

"Have you seen Kristoff? Anna?" I asked but he shook his head only to increase my dread and despair. I sat down on one of the stands and placed my head in my hands. Tears formed in my eyes at the thought of my sister being dead. Snowflakes began to fall from above as tears fell down my cheeks. "I can't believe she's dead." I sobbed. "Who's dead?" My head snapped up to see Kristoff and Anna walking out of the maze.

I ran towards them and embraced Anna tightly. "I-I thought you were dead." She wrapped her arms around me a sighed. "I'm pretty tough to kill, you should know that." I laughed before looking up at Kristoff. I mouthed thank you to him before he gave a slight nod. He saved me and my sister, I owe him a lot. "We need to get to Punzie." Eugene said standing to his feet. "Jack you are the only one who has been there, you have to be the one to find her." He pleaded. I've never seen him so vulnerable.

Jack nodded. "I'm going to try." He slapped Eugene's back making him grunt in pain. "She can't be far. He wouldn't leave his hostages so far away from him." Eugene commented. "Do you think they're somewhere in the school? Like below it? I've heard about the rumor but I didn't think it was real." Kristoff suggested. Jack nodded again and began pacing.

"It makes sense. He was in the school the whole time and from what I've heard it's hard to access the below ground levels. We barely got into the basement when we wanted to throw our party." Jack said mostly to himself. "Okay, I'll check it out. Its too dangerous if you guys come with me." "Are you kidding?!" I asked grabbing his arm. "You aren't going in there alone."

"Do you think you are alive because you can fight? You're alive because of what I did to save you. I'm not going to put you in danger like that. I won't. Not now, not ever." I looked directly into his red eyes and saw the little flecks of blue that still remained. "You can't protect me all the time." I whispered. "We're connected, a team, partners. You need me and you know it." He smashed his lips to mine after the words came out of my mouth.

It was rougher and rushed unlike the last one. "I love you." he whispered when he pulled back. "We'll do this. As a team."

~

All of us ran into the school and found the door that led to the basement. It was locked shut with a charm but with Jack, and a touch of his staff the door was open and we climbed down the narrow and steep steps.

Eugene was the last to enter as he closed the door behind him. "Luminous." Anna whispered making her wand give us some light as we descended upon the stone stairs. "This is where we were going to have our party." Jack whispered as we made our way into a darkened room. "They're has to be an entrance into the next levels." He then said pulling out his own wand.

Taking out Hans wand I illuminated it looking around the walls for a secret door. "Hey guys I found something." Anna said pointing to a strange symbol engraved into the wall. Jack ran his fingers over the symbol. "Do you think-" Kristoff was cut of with the sound of stone grinding together. The wall revealed a new set of stairs behind it, torches lighting themselves one by one.

"I think that answers your question." Eugene commented with a laugh. "Ladies first?" He added after. I rolled my eyes and started down the next set of stairs with my heart pounding in my ears. We were silent, only hearing the sounds of our feet against the stone. The torches began to flicker and the one closest to us went out. I looked over my shoulder to see the ones that we had past began to extinguish. "Get moving." Jack whispered, I didn't need to be told twice.

Reaching the bottoms steps the room below us burst into lively flames. "It's a chess board." Kristoff whispered looking at the checkered tiles and giant statues. "Like wizards chess?" Eugene asked. "Look there's a door behind the king." Anna pointed out. "I think we have to play and beat the game." Kristoff said looking back at us. "There's empty spaces. Jack fill in the knight space, Anna be the bishop, Eugene pick a spaces and Elsa Pick a space." Kristoff said climbing on the back of the horse. Truthfully I've never played chess so I chose to stay off the board.

"Okay, Pawn to D7." I watched as our black figure moved to the space Kristoff told it. "You don't think this is going to be like real wizards chess do you?" Anna asked, I could hear the shake in her voice as the next pawn moved. And then just like that, the white pawn destroyed ours. I gasped as the pieces scattered around. I saw Kristoff noticeably swallow before he called out the next move.

After many pieces being destroyed only a few remained. The game was coming to a close call. If we lost we would never be able to free Rapunzel. "Okay I'm going to sacrifice myself so Jack can checkmate the king." "No!" Anna yelled out. They both made eye contact and I could see the tears glisten in Anna's eyes as they stared at each other. Their love was true, I'm glad she could have that.

I looked at Jack to see he was already staring at me. His red eyes watching me intently. I mouthed "It's going to be okay." making him nod. Jack always acted fearless but I could see the worry on his face. Kristoff called out his move and his piece moved slowly with him on it. The white King turned towards him and began to move. "No!" Anna called out again as the kind picked up its sword and swung towards Kristoff. His piece exploded into tiny pieces making him fall to the ground unconscious.

Jack looked at me once before he moved to the place Kristoff told him. "Check Mate." he said loudly before he took his staff and froze the king before he mashed it into pieces. I ran over to him and embraced him tightly before looking over at Anna weeping. Kristoff was still breathing but he looked more beat up then he did before. "Eugene, Anna, get him out of here. We'll have to go on without you." "No way, I'm coming with you. She's my girlfriend." I nodded. "Take him, I'll help Anna." I said to him but he grabbed my arm. "We're doing this a team."

"He's right Elsa. Go, come back for us." Anna said quietly. "You need to save them." I pulled her into a hug before I followed the boys through the door. "Be careful." I said to her before the door shut behind us. We were now in a darker stone room that was chilly and smelled like death and dust. "Is this where you were?" Eugene asked Jack. He nodded once and pointed towards the ceiling. Millions of rusty metal cages swung from the ceiling containing creatures and people I've never seen before. "She could be anywhere." Eugene commented. "Ask her what's the closest to her." He shook his head. "She's not answering."

Jack flew up in the air and began checking all the cages. Eugene looked around the ground levels for anything that could help us. I guess I was on watch duty. Then I began to hear Punzies song. "Flower gleam on glow let your powers shine...." But it wasn't being sung by Punzie, but by someone else. Jack! I yelled to him. Within seconds he was back at my side.

"What is it?" He asked looking around frantically. "Listen." I told him. His eyes widened when he heard her song. Eugene came running back to us and heard the song as well. With wide eyes he began to follow his ears to see Punzie tied to the wall by her hands. Her feet were bound and it looked extremely uncomfortable. There was a lady beneath her that was brushing her golden hair humming the tune. Punzies face was badly beaten, her clothes ripped and she was barely breathing. Jack creeped up behind the woman and hooked her around the neck with his staff. She gagged and tried grabbing at Jack without much success.

Eugene ran over to Rapunzel and began to try and free her. Time seemed to slow down as a knife was thrown from the woman. "Eugene!" I yelled out making him turn to face me. The knife wedged itself into his skin before he fell to his knees clutching it. Jack seemed shocked by the action that he lost the hold on the woman and she came charging towards me with a crazy look in her eyes. On instinct I held my hands up and I let my fear take over. Ice shot from my hands and froze the woman into a statue but I was losing control as my ice began to spread. "Elsa, relax." Jack said to me putting a hand in my shoulder. "I just killed someone." I choked out. "I killed Hans, her, who knows who else I will!" I yelled. my ice began to spread more quickly as I pressed my fingers to my temples. "EUGENE!" I heard Punzie yell grabbing my attention. I stared in shock as Punzie's hair turned chestnut brown. Eugene was holding the Emerald knife in his hands.

"What have you done?" Punzie asked. "She wanted you for your powers, I wasn't going to let that happen." Eugene fell on the floor, the knife falling from his limp hand. Jack went over and helped Punzie down from from the wall as my ice spread across the walls. It climbed to the ceiling and I followed it all the way to the cages. They began to get cold and the metal see to just fall apart. I heard cheers around the room as people jumped out. "You freed us." Said an older man with a smile on his face. "Is there anything we can do for you?"

"Actually there is." I heard Jack say behind me. The man gasped "Your eyes." Jack chuckled. "I know, I needed the strength to beat him. But we can't do it with out you, all of you. Will you stand with us?!" He called out. The crowd burst into cheers as I ran back to Rapunzel. She was laying on his chest as tears fell from her eyes. She looked at his face moving a strand of hair away. A single tear fell from her eye and hit his cheek. "I'm sorry." she whispered to him. Suddenly a huge burst of light came from his wound and shot around the room. My jaw hung open as she stared wide eyed at what she hand done. She healed him, without her hair.

A huge smile appeared on her face as Eugene opened his eyes. "Have I ever told you I prefer brunettes?" She laughed before she pressed her lips to his. A hand was then placed on my shoulder. I looked over to see Jack with a smile on his face. "They'll fight with us." the ground began to shake as we heard battle drums from above. "Its starting. We have to go."

~

Running out the castle doors terrified me as an army of nightmares and other creates stood surrounding the entire castle. I could see the men and woman that chose to stand with the dark lord. We were badly out numbered with no weapons. Pitch then spoke from the crowd his voice loud enough for us to hear.

"You need to see the odds! You cannot win, join me and none of this has to happen!" I grabbed Jack's hand and squeezed it tightly. This is it. The time we die. My marked arm began to burn as I looked at Jack. "Do you feel that?" I asked him. He nodded giving my hand a gentle squeeze. "This is it. The time he will be killed."

My heart sank looking out towards the crowd of warriors. They looked deadly, ready for a kill. A lump in my throat formed as Pitch rose into the air riding his deadly black magic. "We can't beat him." I whispered looking towards his army. "Elsa. I need you to do something." I looked up at him confused before he spoke. "We need to put an ice blockade around the school." I shook my head. "I can't, I can't control it." "Please Elsa. It's the only way we can slow them down."

Tears now began to stain my cheeks. I was going to fail everyone, their blood on my hands. I breathing quickened and my pulse tripled as I began to freak out. What am I going to do? How can I save them? The snow above us began to intensify as I paced. My feet touching the ice I created a few hours ago. It was hard to see as I turned to face the army of black. I screamed at the top of my lungs and the snow wave pulsed from my direction.

It took a few moments for the white to clear before I could see the army begin to freeze. I looked at Jack to see a smile on his face. How could he be smiling at what I did? His red eyes met mine and his smile faded. "Elsa, you-" his voice was cut off by the sudden battle cry from the army around us. I can do this, concentrate.

I slammed my foot down on the jagged ground and watched as an ice wall climbed to the sky. We could see people on the other side begin to break down the wall, but the ones who touched it with their bare skin froze on the spot. "You are amazing." Jack said coming up behind me. "I feel like I'm doing something horrible." He nodded against my shoulder. "This is what war is like. We can't do this without you." I nodded, I needed to be strong, For them and for myself.

"You really think this is going to keep us out?" Pitch asked standing in front of us behind the ice wall. He chuckled before he stepped back. With one push of his hand his dark magic came rushing forward and collided with the glassy ice. It's smoky like substance travelled along the entire wall and just like that, it crumbled and cracked into tiny pieces. "Get ready!" Jack called out. The dark lord rose into the air again with a laugh as his army began to run towards us. They will either have to go over the thin iced river or across the bridge to get to us. "I love you." I whispered to Jack. "I lo-"

Suddenly a loud roaring sound came from the sky. "Hiccup." I whispered in relief. Many of the soldiers looked up recognizing the distinct sound a Nightfury made. It was fast and bright as explosions began to rain from the sky. Bodies thrown in the air, set on fire, it was horrible making me turn away. When I turned back I could see Pitch laughing. Why is he so amused?

Wait his army was smaller then I expected. There's more, there has to be. He's trying to tire us out. "Jack, he's distracting us. This isn't his really army." Jack's eyebrows furrowed as he took in the army. His eyes widened and looked at the sky. "Hiccup is doing exactly what he wants." He commented. I shook my head. "He's doing that on purpose." He looked at me confused before I told him through our link. "Hiccup went to get help. We have an entire army ready to fight for our cause marching this way. He's trying to get Pitch to bring out his army."

He smirked in amusement. "Looks like your army is wavering!" Jack called out before shooting towards the sky. "You really think so?" Pitch asked with a chuckle. "That's where you are wrong." He raised his hands in the air and a giant black wave fell across the icy ground. A huge crack shook the earth, before men came out from the crack. They were dressed completely in black, their eyes yellow and red showing that they had joined the dark side. Men began to pour out from the tree line and out of the school, the lake and the sky. There was over 700 000 people charging towards us. I smirked, now it's time.

Dragons came pouring from the sky catching themselves on fire with brilliant flames before the crashed into the army of men and creatures. Spiders began to crawl from the woods and began capturing the dragons as they fell. I better start helping.

Jack's POV

I watched as the flaming dragons fell from the sky. I had to admit, I was impressed. I looked down at the ground to see Elsa fighting with her ice. She was so graceful, and beautiful. I turned back towards Pitch who retreated to the sky. His black magic raining down like tentacles. It choked people, melted their skin, just awful things.

One of the tentacle like dust shot towards me, I simply touched it with my staff causing it to freeze before I shattered it. Pitch's attention turned to me. "Missed me?" I asked sarcastically.
The ground shook below me making me look down. Elsa was trapped under someone. I was about to leave but a tight rope wrapped around my neck.

"Can't save everyone lover boy." he whispered in my ear. "ELSA!" I yelled. Pitch jumped back in surprise as I turned to face him. I left frost where I had touched him. I chuckled "Might want to get a coat." before I shot off towards Elsa. The ground shook again as the sound of snapping trees boomed through the battle field catching many people's attention. I landed on the ground next to Elsa and ripped the guy off of her with one hand. He landed on the ground frozen, crumbling into pieces.

"Thank you." she whispered. The ground shook again making her fall back down. We both looked to the trees to see a giant dragon appear. Hiccup landed beside us and looked at the dragon in awe and horror. "It's an alpha dragon Jack." I nodded looking at the giant creature. "It needs a challenger." I commented. Hiccup smirked. "It's a good thing we have one." As if on cue a loud roar sounded from the sky. A giant dragon appeared from the clouds and made the ground shake as it touched the earth. "How did you find another Alpha dragon?" I asked with my mouth still hanging open.

"It's amazing what you can find." I raised an eyebrow at his words and looked up to see where he was pointing. "Who's that?" I asked him. He chuckled. "My mother." I was about to say something but he was already off. "Elsa are you alright?" I asked. She nodded looking at her bloody hand in horror. She then held her other hand over it making ice crawl across her wound. "That should hold." She commented pushing her sleeves up.

"Be careful." I warned looking back up towards the sky. "You too." I was about to take off when she grabbed my sleeve. "You aren't going to be able to do this on your own." I looked into her blue eyes only to see that sadness in them. "I have an idea... And it's only going to work if we do it together."

~

"Are you sure this is going to work?" I asked as we reached the tallest part on the castle. "We're connected for a reason Jack. They only way to beat him is if we all do it together." She said looking down towards the battlefield. "Everyone got the message right?" I nodded holding my staff tightly. "They are waiting for our signal. To kill the snake we need to cut of its head." "Really?" "What?!" I asked making her shake her head.

"Never mind. We have to wait until the moon is at its highest." "How? Your snow storm is blocking our view." "Give me a minute." she snapped trying to focus. "Well that minute better turn into seconds. Everyone is in position." I said getting signals from the others. "There!" I looked up to see that Elsa had successfully parted a piece of the sky. "Why are we waiting for the moon?" I asked. "Because your powers will be the strongest." I raised my eyebrows and looked up. "But if mine are, so are his." I said pointing towards Pitch's dark cloud.

"I think that's why he waited to attack us until tonight. He tried to get rid of you knowing you would be as strong as him. But you have something he doesn't." She looked at me with her ice blue eyes. "Friends." We both looked up. "How long?" I asked. "Two minutes ish. You'll feel it." She grabbed my hand a squeezed it. "Its almost time." she whispered. "If we don't make-" "Hey don't talk like that!" I cut her off. She sighed. "If it happens, I want you to know that I love you." I clenched my jaw at her words. "Don't think like that. I can't lose you too." I whispered pulling away from her. "It's time."

"Okay ready? One, two, three." I felt a sudden surge of energy run through my veins. Elsa gave the signal and the other joined hands. "Jack?" I laughed. "Whoo! Let's do this!" I grabbed her hand and she laughed. "Wow!" I laughed "I know right, I feel amazing!" I squeezed her hand and smiled. "Lets kick some booty! NOW!" Everyone aimed their wands at Pitch's dark cloud.

He looked directly at us confused before we all started firing. Elsa and I held back our attack and watched as the sand around turned a golden color. I could see the fear pasted on his face. "ENOUGH!" His black dust exploded knocking everyone over. "Elsa!" I yelled as she lost her balance as fell off the tower. Time slowed down as I looked into her eyes. I jumped after her only to see she was falling too fast. "NO!" I yelled. Frozen tears came out of the corners of her eyes as she mouthed 'I love you.' Her eyes closed as she collided with the ground.

"NO!" I landed on the ground next to her tears pouring down my cheeks. I pulled her into my arms and moved her hair from her face. "Elsa please wake up... Elsa please don't leave me... No..." Blood starts to pour from her nose telling me she was dead. "Jack!" Hiccup landed Toothless somewhere nearby. Anna screamed looking at her sister in my arms. Eugene began to pry me away from her. "No!" I screamed pushing him away. I couldn't register what people were saying to me, I didn't care that we were in the middle of a war. None of it matter, only she did.

I stood up carrying her in my arms. "Don't touch me." I snapped at Hiccup who put his hand on my shoulder. I flew back into the tower with Elsa in my arms. I laid her on the couch inside, placing her arms on her stomach. "I'm sorry." I whispered kissing her forehead. "I couldn't save you... How can I save anyone else?" I choked out wiping my cheeks.

I walked over to the balcony and watched as Pitch fought. He was no longer in the sky but knocking people down with a large anchor-like weapon. I would kill him, for her. I jumped off the balcony and joined my friends. "Whats the plan?" I asked them. Anna gave me a sad looked before running into my arms. "I'm sorry. I knew you loved her." She whispered. I pulled away from her grip and gave her a cold look. "I will not be satisfied until that bastard is dead." Eugene nodded his head once before placing a kiss on a now brunette Rapunzel. "Its now or never. This bastard is dying today." I clenched my jaw and clutched my staff tightly.

"NOW!" We all ran into the battle field, joining sides with others against Pitch's dark ways. I whipped my staff around turning people into sparkling ice as I ran towards the middle of the fight. Pitch kept swinging hitting his own people. Blood coated the ground where he stood. He was laughing and smiling at the destruction he had caused. I didn't want to become a monster like him. Jumping over a few people using the wind I was finally face to face with Pitch. His face was splattered with blood that I knew wasn't his own.

"Ah Jack, sorry about your girlfriend. She was quite lovely." my grip tightened around my staff and my jaw clenched. "So are we just going to stand there or are we going to get down to business?" His yellow eyes shined with a darkness I had not seen before. My anger took over and I swung my staff towards him, but of course, he dodged knocking me to the ground. "Anger is clouding your judgement. So set on revenge... Its making you predictable." He said as I pushed myself up.

The sudden shake of the ground caught my attention. Eyes going wide at the sight of our Alpha dragons defeat. No, that dragon is our second biggest threat. "Hiccup get that Dragon under control!" Merida yelled as the dragons began to turn on us. "Toothless?" Hiccup questioned holding his hands out. Toothless got ready to fire but Hiccup was knocked out of the way but a large man. "Stoic?" I asked in disbelief. He smiled before the life left his body. Hiccup was broken staring at his father's lifeless body. Hiccups mother came rushing forward and laid her head on his chest. Someone touched my shoulder making me turn around. "North?" He smiled. "Somebody needs to keep you out of trouble."

"Hiccup you need to fix this dragon problem." North said looking towards the swarm gathering in the sky. "Where's Elsa?" He asked looking at me. My face fell and a sudden wave of sadness and anger washed over me. "She's dead." I spit out. "I couldn't save her." North looked pained by my answer. "I don't want to talk about it." he gave a stern nod before looking at the rest of the group. "We need a plan."

~

This is it. The time we kill that stupid son of a b!&@$. Standing in a circle with my closest friends... No, my family. Pitch's attention turned towards the circle we were forming around him. "Oh this is cute. Your trick didn't work last time." I smirked. "What makes you so sure it won't work this time?" He swallowed loudly spinning in a small circle. "What about your dragon pals?" He asked with a smug look on his face.

"Already working on that." as if on cue Toothless and Hiccup appeared with all the dragons behind him. "H-how?!" Pitch asked startled. "A dragons loyalty." Toothless fired at Pitch making him jump out of the way. "This is for my father you stupid bastard."

"NOW!" North yelled making everyone charge. This was it, the end. We would go down fighting, be remembered as soldiers. Pitch couldn't take on all of us at once, even with his army of nightmares approaching behind us. Battle cries sounded in my ears as we made our way towards him. Wands out, swords high, magic ready. "Ahhhhh!" Pitch screamed sending black mist around us. People began coughing but charged forward until the swords pierced through his skin. "This is for my family," I said hitting his face with my staff. He chuckled. "This is for my friends!" I cried out punching him leaving frost to crawl against his skin.

"And this is for her-" I was cut off my someone touching my shoulder. I turned around a stared into Elsa's ice blue eyes. "H-how?" She looked up towards the moon and smiled. "I believe it's my turn." she stepped around me and crouched down to Pitches kneeling level. His face was bruised, blood pouring out of his nose and his mouth. "This is for me." she straight out punch him. Before she grabbed my hand. "We need to freeze him together. Manny told me it's the only way." I nodded my head once before we both held up our hands. "This is for us."

Blue light came from our unjoined hands making Pitch scream. His nightmares began to fall apart, sinking into the earth like they never existed. When the light dimmed all of us looked at a statue of the dark lord. I didn't hesitate to swing my staff shattering what was left of him. I turned to Elsa and smiled. "I love you." she whispered softly. "I love you too." I answered pressing my forehead to hers.

"Listen love birds, I hate to break the mood but can we just get out of here." Eugene said holding Rapunzel close. "Couldn't of said it better myself." I said with a laugh. "Jack." Elsa and I looked up to the sky and smiled at the moon. "Both of you have done excellent work. You are now officially guardians." I shook my head. "I don't think this guardian business is really my thing." I said looking at Elsa. "Very well, a counter offer then?" Elsa nodded pushing herself closer to me. "Elsa and you will be given back your life. You will do with it as you please, under some conditions." "Go on." I told him. "When you die of natural causes you will continue your life as guardians." I smiled. "I think we can live with that." I said with a wink. "Haha very funny."

I turned back towards Elsa and smiled. "We need to have a romantic ending." I said with a goofy grin. She pushed herself up on her tippy toes and pressed her lips to mine. "Is that good enough for a romantic ending?" I nodded. "Absolutely." I said before pulling her closer and kissing her again.
