Jack's POV

"Jack Frost."

My head shot up from the table and I focused my eyes to the front of the room. How did my name get into the Goblet of Fire? Haunting images of what happened the first year my name was picked flooded in my mind. The rules are that you have to be a least 16 years of age to enter into the competition, I was 14 when my name got picked. Some stupid older boys put my name into it thinking that it would be funny. Unfortunately for me it got picked and I was thrown into the games. I shook my head. I felt dizzy as the entire room tilted. This can't be happening.

Eugene snapped his fingers in front of my face. "Jack?" I averted my eyes to Eugene. "I can't go in... I can't...." I placed my head into my shaking hands and looked at the table. Eugene put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry there is no way they would let two people from the same school go into the games. You'll be fine." I sure damn hope so. The headmistress cleared her throat. I slowly looked towards her and noticed how nervous she was. "Um... Well this has never happened before in the entire history of the games.... But there is a rule that everyone that is picked must play." she looked towards me "Jack you have to compete." I swallowed as sweat gathered on my forehead and in the palms of my hands.

Shocking images of the games haunted my thoughts once again. Nausea hit me and I grabbed the table for support. My breathing quickened. I'm having a panic attack. My vision blurred and I wanted to throw up. "Jack? Are you okay?" I fell out of my seat and onto the floor. I heard a few people snicker. I can't breathe.

Suddenly a figure with blond hair appeared in front of my face. "Jack breathe, your having a panic attack. Focus on something else, Anything else. Focus on my voice or my face or feelings, thoughts..." Nothing is working, I wanted to say but I couldn't. Then her blurred figure moved closer and she kissed me on the lips. I held my breath.

My vision returned and the nauseating feeling went away. She pulled back and looked at me with her green eyes. "W-why Did you d-do that?" I asked. She blushed "I read something once that said that you can end a panic attack by holding your breath... So when I kissed you you held your breath." I did? "I did?" she nodded and looked into my eyes. "You did." I looked behind her to see Eugene staring down at us. Is he mad at me? His face was like stone, I couldn't read him. I then noticed that everything was quiet in the room. Everyone was watching Punzie and I. My name! I started to panic again but Punzie placed her hand on my arm. "You'll be fine Jack. You can do it." I looked at her. I can't change it... I might as well accept it. Punzie stood up and held out a hand to help me. I took it and she helped me to my feet. I took in a breath and exhaled before walking towards the front of the room.

I could feel everyone's eyes on the back of my head. I wanted to run out of the room and hide. The headmistress and I made eye contact when I walked by her to stand beside Merida. I was taking her thunder and I knew she wasn't happy about it. I scanned the crowd with my eyes until I landed on Elsa. She wouldn't look at me. I looked at the ground and let the terrible thoughts flow through my head.

"Could all the competitors please follow me." I turned and followed the headmistress into the common room. I sat down alone against a wall. This can't be happening. The doors opened slightly and Pitch walked in with the games advisor. Maybe I could talk him into letting me go. They walked straight over to where I was sitting. "Jack did you put your name into the goblet of fire?" I shook my head. "I swear I didn't! I would never put my name in after what happened last time." The game keeper raised an eyebrow "Last time? But aren't you 16 now?" I nodded "I went into the games when I was 14 because if some stupid people... Are you sure I have to play the games?" He nodded "Your name was chosen and it's against the rules not to let you compete." I put my head in my hands. I can't go in again. Elsa? There was no reply.

Earlier today I told Elsa to stay away from me. I couldn't take the nightmares anymore. I told her to stay away from me so I could actually get some sleep for once. Eugene said to me that Elsa had something to say to me but I told him not to tell me. I have to keep my distance to save her.

"I-I can't go back!" I shouted standing up. The game Keeper took a step back. "There is no bloody way I'm going back in there! You can't make me!" I raised my hand and was about to shoot ice at the Keeper but Merida stepped in front if me. "Jack don't do this." I lowered my hand. "Get out of the way!" I raised my hand again and gritted my teeth together. Merida didn't move. She moved closer and put her hand in mine. "Jack this isn't ye. Ye know what happened to the boys in yer first year. Ye don't need a repeat." I lowered my hand and looked into her blue eyes. I scanned the room. "I can't go back. Is there anyway I can get out if this?" Pitch shook his head. "You have to compete Jack." I looked back at Merida "Jack ye can do this." she said with a small grin on her face. I nodded and let go of her hand.

"I guess I have no choice." My hands shook at my sides as I walked out if the room with Merida. She has to be mad at me but she wasn't showing it. I need a break. There were only a few people in the Great Hall because everyone was dismissed but our friends were all waiting at the Ravenclaw table. Punzie looked up and watched us walk over. I sat down next to Merida avoiding Elsa's eyes. Why hadn't she responded to me? Punzie touched my arm. "Jack are you okay?" I nodded "Can we do something today? I need a break from all this mess." She nodded and stood from the table. "Let's go get some butter beer!" I smiled.

We walked into the tavern and everyone ordered a butter beer. Elsa hadn't said an entire word the entire time and wouldn't make eye contact with me. She just stared into her still full beer glass hoping it would give her answers to her problems. She had never had butter beer because it was her first year here so she was very hesitant about tasting it.

"Elsa take a sip ye'll love it!" said Merida who finished her third glass. Elsa rolled her eyes and took a sip. Her eyes widened "Oh my gosh that's good!" she smiled and took another sip. I couldn't help but smile as she did. Her smile is amazing. I blushed and took a sip from my second glass. Rapunzel was right I already am feeling better. I miss spending time with everyone like this. Ever since Merida's brilliant idea to go into the forbidden forest we haven't spent much time together.

Before I stopped myself I spoke my thoughts "I miss spending time with you guys." Eugene snorted. "I miss you too buddy!" he said patting my back. "Gosh guys go get a room! We don't need your bromance at the table!" said Anna laughing. I couldn't help but laugh. I chugged the remainder of my second butter beer and ordered a third.

After rounds and rounds of glasses everyone was finally finished. We were all a little tipsy and laughing at random things as we walked through the streets back towards the school. "That was the best idea ever!" said Kristoff with his arm draped over Anna's shoulders. Everyone agreed. Elsa walked up beside me and grabbed my hand. I didn't mind, it felt good to hold her hand. I'm sorry I didn't answer you. she said into my mind. It's okay. I'm sorry for what I said this morning. I just was completely sick with all the nightmares. I thought it would be better to hurt you so you would stay away from me. She shook her head. The man was in my room last night, I injured him. I thought if I hurt you I could keep you safe. I didn't mean what I said either. My heart beat a little faster in my chest. I stopped walking a turned my head and looked into her eyes. "We are stronger together and you saw what being apart does to us. We need each other." She nodded before kissing my cheek. I blushed as it began to snow overtop of us. Everyone stopped and turned to face us.

Snow gathered on the ground. I let go of Elsa's hand and grabbed a handful. I threw it at Eugene and it hit him in the chest. "OH IT'S ON!" Eugene grabbed a handful and made a snowball. He threw it and I didn't react fast enough. The snowball hit me in the face. I shook it off and grinned at him. I made my own snowballs when Elsa wasn't looking and started to free throw them. Everyone joined in. I got hit left and right. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. I threw one at Elsa and it hit her in the back of the head. "No you didn't!" "Oh yes I did!" she threw one at me but I dodged it making her miss. She charged towards me and jumped on top of me making me fall into the snow. I laughed and so did she. She looked into my eyes while laying on me. "You missed." I whispered. She then shoved her hand in my face. It was full of snow. She jumped off of me "I didn't miss that time!" I laughed laying there for a few moments. I stood up and noticed that everyone was gone. Elsa was looking around franticly.

"Where did everyone go?" she asked turned around to face me. I brushed the snow off my pants and walked up to stand beside her. "I don't know." I replied. Where did everyone go? "Maybe they went back to the school." said Elsa. I nodded.

"ATTACK!" Everyone jumped out from where they were hiding a threw tons and tons of snowballs at us. Elsa was on the ground laughing her head off making more snowballs and throwing them back. I couldn't help but laugh too. I made a snowball and blew on it. Hiccup saw what I did. "You wouldn't." he said. I narrowed my eyes and fired hitting him square in the chest. He fell to the ground and I leaned over laughing my head off. Kristoff charged and knocked me over. I shoved snow in his face but he wouldn't budge. "Hurry!" he yelled everyone came over and started to bury me in the snow until my head was the only thing showing. They packed me in tight so I couldn't move. "Arrgg!" I grunted trying to struggle out while laughing. "Admit it yer defeated!" Merida yelled. I saw Elsa behind them with loads of snowballs. We made I contact and she nodded.

"Never!" I yelled as Elsa open fire at them. Her aim was incredible! She got everyone long enough to give me time to struggle out. I broke through the packy snow and made more snowballs. I blew on all of mine and fired them at the others. First I hit Merida right in the head, she face planted in the snow laughing. I threw my next one at Rapunzel which ended up hitting Hiccup but Hiccup fell on Punzie so two in one. Eugene tried to dodge mine but failed miserably and Kristoff was hit by Elsa's snowball to the head. Anna asked if he was okay which was her mistake because Elsa and I took the opportunity and hit her from both directions.

"We won!" I shouted raising my hands in the air. Then a snowball hit my chest making me fall onto my back. Elsa walked and but a foot on my chest. "Actually I won!" she said laughing. I grabbed her leg and pulled it out from underneath her making her fall onto her back. I laughed and so did she as she leaned up on her elbows. "I think it's a tie." I said and she rolled her eyes. "Just accept it Jack, I beat your butt. How does it feel to be beaten by a girl?" "Never!" I threw a handful of snow in her face. She wiped it away and smiled her most beautiful smile.

"Come on love birds! We are going back to the school before we freeze to death!" yelled Eugene. I stood up and helped Elsa up. We ran to catch up with everyone. That was fun. I said to her thoughts. Yes it really was. She responded. I grabbed her hand and we walked behind everyone else. I glanced back to where the snow was but it had all melted like it never existed. I didn't do that. I shook my head to clear my thoughts.

"Where are we going?" Punzie asked me. I shrugged my shoulders. "Anywhere that doesn't involve school." I replied. She laughed. "I know where we can go!" Punzie got in front of us and started to lead the group to where ever we were going.

After a few moments of walking with the leaves crunching underneath our feet the whomping willow came into view. What's she up to? We kept walking closer and closer and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up but I remembered the girls secret fort underneath the whomping willow. It's the perfect place to hide and not get caught by teachers. Punzie walked to the trunk and opened the door. Kristoff and Anna looked nervously into the opening. I think they're the only ones who haven't been to the secret fort. Even Elsa has! Punzie turned back and smiled before jumping through the hole. I let go of Elsa's hand and jumped in. I slid down the slide and landed on my feet at the bottom.

Punzie was already sitting on the couch. I smiled and sat down beside her waiting for everyone else to come down the slide. The room hadn't changed much. It was a different color and the furniture had been moved around, a couple things added but otherwise the same. I leaned over and whispered. "Thank you for earlier." Her eyes widened and she blushed pure red. "The funny thing is I've wanted to kiss you since third year." I looked into her eyes. "Why-" she cut me off. "I just had to get it off my chest. I'm glad I could help you." I nodded. I hadn't noticed but Hiccup and Merida had joined us. Eugene and Elsa came in next. "Kristoff and Anna bailed." Said Eugene sitting on the arm rest next to Punzie.

Elsa sat on the floor beside Hiccup and crossed her legs underneath her. I looked back at Punzie. "So what are we doing?" asked Merida crossing her legs. Punzie smiled and raised her hand. Inside her grip was a glass bottle. "How about we play spin the bottle." Eugene laughed "No freaking way!" He said raising his hands. I laughed and grabbed the bottle out of her hand. "We are not playing this." I threw the bottle across the room as Punzie pouted. How did that not break? She crossed her arms "What do you want to do then?" I shrugged my shoulders "Anything but that." She rolled her eyes. "What about truth it dare?" "Oh heck no!" Eugene groaned and slouched into the couch between Punzie and I. She rolled her eyes "Some one else come up with suggestions then!" I laughed at her. "Why don't we just relax and hang out with each other." Hiccup suggested. "Fine." said Rapunzel.

Hours went by and we all told stories and talked about whatever we wanted. Elsa seemed to be having a good time which made me happy. Then there was a loud thump above our heads. Bits of dirt fell from the ceiling as another loud thump sound through the room. Everyone was silent as the thumps repeated. "Someone's here." Punzie whispered. "We can go through the emergency exit." Said Merida standing up. She walked up to a painting and opened it like a door. She motioned her hand and everyone stood up and walked through. Elsa was in front of me holding my hand again. If we get caught we're screwed. The tunnel darkened as Merida closed the painting behind her. I couldn't see anything. I was following Elsa who was following someone else.

After a few moments the light returned and we all exited through another painting in the school. "Okay that was awesome!" I said after exiting the tunnel. We all laughed as we walked down the corridor. We all walked to the great hall to see that everyone was gathering for dinner. We wasted a lot of time having fun with each other. Being back in the school made me think about what happened in the games.

-Flashback-

I stood before the cup. I won! I reached out my hand a took ahold of it. The cup had teleported me to a graveyard. This isn't where I'm supposed to be. I looked around for the cup that had flown out of my hands when I landed. Where did it go? I started to wonder around the gravestones looking for the item that had flown out of my hand when I heard a noise.

"Looking for this?" I turned around to see a man with rat-like features holding the cup. "Give me that!" I yelled walking towards him trying to grab it. "Why would I give it to you when you have something I need." I glared at the rat man. "What do you want?" I asked. The rat-like man chuckled a sicken sound. "Your blood." The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I backed away as rat man walked forward. He chuckled his sicken sound once more as I tripped over a gravestone. I shuffled backwards on my butt until I was grabbed by a pair of arms.

I was lifted into the hair by a stone hard grip. I looked up to see that a grim reaper statue held me in it's arms. It took it's large weapon and placed it across my throat. I couldn't move let alone breathe. The rat man threw the cup to the right side of him, making it disappear out of my view. He pulled a long shiny knife from this sleeve as we walked over to where I was being held.

He stopped inches from my face. "A few drops is all I need." The man flicked the knife across my wrist. Blood poured from the cut he had made. The man backed away and walked towards a cauldron that seemed to appear out of nowhere. He dropped in 3 drops of my blood chanting strange words I couldn't make out. He then held the knife high above his head before bringing it down hard. I watched as his hand fell into the pot. I held back bile as the rat man continued.

Suddenly the cauldron bubbled making the rat man step back. It started shifting and forming creating... A man. A figure had appeared. The man was naked until the rat-like man cloaked him. When the newly made man was able to stand it limped over to where I was standing. He was much taller then he was 2 minutes ago. He had the hood of the cloak covering his face so all I could see was yellow glowing eyes. "We meet again Jack Frost." How does he know my name? "It's simple really. We are connected now Jack. Your blood brought me back to life." Who is this man? "Hahaha you'll know soon enough and so will the girl." What girl? "You'll know." My fingers finally got ahold on my wand. I flicked it making the statue let go. I fell to the ground dropping my wand.

I ran my hands frankly across the ground. I finally found it in the corner of my eye. I leaped towards it but the man had pushed me to the ground with his foot. "Don't you even think about it." I tried to struggle against him but it was no use. The man stumbled back suddenly holding his now frozen foot. Man my powers do come into use sometimes. I stood up and rushed towards my wand gripping in in my hand. I pointed it towards the man. "You think you can stop me Jack?" He laughed and pulled out his own wand. He threw a few curses at me but I dodged them making him destroy a few gravestones. Rubble and rock flew everywhere as I sprinted towards the cup. I had no idea where it was but I knew it was over in this direction somewhere.

The blue glowing cup came into view behind a prickly bush and I jumped towards it grabbing the handle, plenty of thorns stabbing my skin. It teleported me back to the school where people's cheers filled my ears.

"Jack?" I snapped out of my flashback and was now looking at Punzie. "Hmm?" she rolled her eyes "Off in dreamland again? I asked you if you were going to eat anything." I looked at her "I'm not really that hungry." Punzies expression filled with concern. "Are you sure your okay? You looked paler then usual." I nodded rubbing a hand through my hair. "Just a little stressed that's all. I think I just need some sleep." She nodded as I stood from the table I don't even remember sitting in. I walked out of the great hall and towards the Slytherin house when I heard music from the music room.

I turned the knob opening the door slowly. Elsa was sitting at the Piano playing a song I recognized from the first time I heard it. She wasn't singing this time she was only humming. "Hi Jack." How did she know? She stopped playing and turned to face me. "Can't eat either?" I nodded "I'm still a little freaked out about the whole Goblet of Fire challenge." She looked into her lap. "What happened the year you went into the games?" I felt a knot form in my throat. I tried to swallow it away but it didn't work.

I sat down in a chair nearby a faced her. "Terrible things. I saw the man from our dreams resurrect, no big deal." I rubbed the back of my neck. "You mean you saw the man come back to life?!" I nodded "Which means he can be killed!" She continued. Now that I think about it she's right. If we kill him he'll go away! "You're right. But how? We don't even know who he is." Her eyes lost the hope filled light and she crumbled like a deck of cards. "But we still get to be detectives and solve the mystery of who the man really is." The deck of cards slowly stacked themselves again as the hope returned inside her. "This is going to take a lot of time though, a lot of time we might not have." I nodded. "Well right now we need to focus on school." I said interlocking my hands in my lap. She nodded before turning back towards the piano keys.

She started to play that melody again. I stood up from my chair and sat down beside her. I watched her delicate fingers play the keys in her song. After watching them a couple of times I repeated it in a lower key. She looked at me and smiled "You pay Piano?" "I did a long time ago. North taught me." "North taught you? I don't see him as a piano player." I laughed "Neither did I. His fingers are like sausages, I don't know how he only hits one key." She laughed. We sat in silence playing the melody over and over until it was dark.

The moon was the only source of light in the room. It made her skin glow making her unbelievably beautiful. I lost focus and messed up the key making her stop. "Sorry-" I said trying to cover up that I was staring at her. "Why do you always look at me like that?" she asked. I rubbed the back of my neck a chuckled nervously. "I um... I think your beautiful." She blushed and looked down at the keys. "Why?" I swallowed before speaking. "Your ice blue eyes, the way they sparkle when your happy or excited. I love your smile, It's incredible. It makes my heart skip a beat when you smile." She blushed harder but she was smiling "I love your laugh and how smart you are. I have only know you a couple months but I feel like I've known you forever. You are also curvy and tall... Your just so damn beautiful Elsa." She looked at me making the moonlight reflect on her fair skin. She was still blushing a light pink.

I started to lean in and so did she. This is going to happen! Then a laugh filled the room. I scanned the room but all I saw was darkness. "How gullible are you Jack? You are just so stubborn aren't you? I tried to warn you." I looked back at Elsa but she was dead. "No!"

I sat up in bed sweating like a pig on a roast. I took in a huge gulp of air and raised my hand to my head. That was only a dream? It felt so real. I laid my head on my pillow once again and closed my eyes. I don't even remember getting into bed. It felt so real. I thought I actually told her the things I wanted to from the very beginning. I turned to my side and let sleep take me once again.

Hope you liked the chapter! I know it was kinda boring so sorry. Also sorry for any grammar and spelling... Pictures are finally working! Took me forever to figure out why it wasn't! Grr! Anyway I'm hoping to update soon but school is right around the corner so I am going to be busy soon. But otherwise I will try to update as much as possible. I think the next chapter will be Merida training with Hiccup after she finds out what the first Goblet of fire task is! Stay tuned!
