Mallory King has a problem.

Soren Carter just walked into her firm, holding hands with Noelle Parker.

She wants to say she's surprised that they lasted, but honestly, she's not. 

Ten years later, and they still look just as in love as they were on the last day of college.

She shakes her head in disbelief, flinching when Noelle turns in her direction.

The brunette pauses, tugging Soren's arm to bring him to a stop as her eyes widen slightly.

Mallory fights the urge to duck behind a desk, and never come out.

Her eyes burn slightly.

She's surprised at how much the name affects her.

To Soren, she was always 'Mal', or 'M', not 'Mallory'.

Of course, she's pretty sure she lost that nickname the second she attempted to make him choose between her, and the love of his life.

Forcing herself to stand tall, she glances over at the boy who had once been her everything, and the girl who took it all away.

No, she thinks, Soren Carter was never her anything.

Looking over at them, she can tell it's love. 

And Mallory King? She can't stand in the way of that anymore.

So, she nods her head in greeting, and smiles, locking eyes with Soren, in the hope that he can see everything she can't say.
