Clarice couldn't believe her eyes, her blood, her only family, was dying right in front of her. She began to let out uncontrollable sobs. She gained enough strength to call for help. "SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!" She screamed frantically. She continued to sob. Her eyes felt heavy and puffy. Suddenly she felt people surrounding her. Almost every Newsie from the Manhattan Lodging House had heard her screams; they were that loud.

She felt someone trying to pry her off her other half. "No I need to stay with him, he's all I got left, Let me go!" She struggled trying to fight the boy's embrace. 

"Clar! we gotta get him inside, you need to get your head together and cooperate." Blink who was trying his best to get her to listen to him as he pried her off of Racetrack. 

"No! I can't live without him, Blink do you understand that?!" She practically shouted. He took Clarice in his arms and gently stroked her hair planting a kiss on the top of her head. "Shh." He shushed her quietly as she sobbed uncontrollably into his chest.

Mush and Jack gingerly picked the poor boy up carrying him up to his bunk. Once they got there, Clarice went back to clutching onto her almost dead sibling. She knew it was his time, but she wasn't prepared for it. What was she gonna do?

"Non posso vivere senza di te, Tony, you hear me?" She pleaded hoping he'd respond. The poor boy nodded his head. Of course the others couldn't understand what she was saying.

"What did she say?" Crutchy asked. The rest shook their heads.

"She can't live without him." Kid Blink whispered, a tear or two slipping out of his eye.

"Sempre." She whispered quietly.

"Sempre." Race gained enough strength to answer back. Clarice gave a weak smile giggling as she planted a kiss on his forehead as he laid there almost lifeless.
