Rhetts pov

"Here we are!" I helped link out of the car as we pulled up to the restaurant. We climbed up the glass stairs and walked inside where we were blasted with a warm atmosphere. A young woman came walking over to the both of us and grinned widely.

"Hi! Welcome to Antonios. How may I help you?" She flicked down at her clipboard.

"I have a reservation for McLaughlin?" She scanned her board before beckoning us. Link stared in wonder at the fancy chandelier hanging inches away from our faces. She pulled us over to the edge of the building, right next the large windows so you could see the entire city.

"Wow man is place is super fancy. I feel so out of place. Maybe I should leave..." I shook my head.

"Nah it's fine don't worry about it. You deserve a nice meal. Um could we have a bottle of champagne please?" The woman disappeared leaving us all alone together.

"I just wanna thank you Rhett...for this past week and half. My life has been turned upside down but still you stick with me and help me. You bring me in, buy me stuff and you have been super kind to me. But why?" He stared at me with his bright eyes.

"All my life I've been alone in that massive house, my parents barely home and I never had many friends. But with you it's different. You're one of the sweetest people I ever met and you don't judge me just because I lots of money." The waitress returned with a bottle and took our orders before leaving. I poured each of us a glass before I held it up. Link followed my actions.

"To our new friendship." And we clinked glasses. As we were drinking I suddenly noticed a specific figure appear at the door. I choked on my drink completely catching link by surprise.

"Rhett what's wrong? You're blushing!" I covered my face with my hand.

"Link my ex just walked in."

Links pov

"What where?" Out of nowhere a really tall, muscular man appeared with dark ebony coloured appeared behind Rhett.

"Rhett is that you?" Rhett cringed and stood up, hugging the man.

"Kay how are you? I haven't seen you in a long time!" The mans eyes swivelled towards me.

"I'm ok man. Who's your friend here?" He stared at me, making me feel uncomfortable.

"Ugh Kay this is Link. Link...meet Kay..." I stood up and extended my hand. He took it grudgingly and shook it.

"Link will you excuse me I'll be right back..." Rhett disappeared, leaving me all alone with the strange man.

"I saw you on Rhetts youtube channel. You were pretty great." I smiled at him.

"But listen I need to tell you something about him. Don't trust on him for anything. He only focuses around his work and when it comes to love it's hopeless with him. I mean we dated for three years and he left me cause we 'weren't working out'." I felt the anger starting to rise inside me as he insulted Rhett.

"So don't get you hopes up about him. Although it's not like he would ever date you. Not in a million years. I mean...you're just some lowlife, unemployed nob..." he didn't even get to finish his sentence before my fist connected with his jaw, making him fall to the ground. Everyone in the room turned and faced me. He scraped himself off of the floor, wiping away the blood from his lip.

"You wanna play it like that?" He ran towards me and tackled me to the ground so that he was on top of me. He started punching me, knocking the glasses off my face. I felt the blood drip from the side of my face. I pushed him off so luckily I managed to sit atop him. I hit as hard as I could, leaving cuts and red marks. I felt a strong pair of arms drag me away from him and held me back.

"Link woah stop man! Stop! Calm down!" I looked over and saw two waiters picking up Kay off the floor. Rhett pulled me outside and put me in the car. We drive home in absolute silence. It wasn't until we got into his house he finally let it all go.

"What the hell man? I go to the restroom for two minutes and I come back to find you fighting my ex? What has gotten into you?" I felt the tears brimming in my eyes.

"He insulted me Rhett. He called me a loser..." Rhetts angry eyes softened. "And he insulted you. And I wasn't gonna take it..." he walked over to me and wrapped both arms around me.

"I'm sorry. I should've known you didn't lash out like that unless you had a reason." He titled my head to the side and examined where he had punched and slapped me. He made me sit on the bar stool and cleaned my wounds.

"I'm sorry man. It won't happen again..." he sighed deeply and shook his head.

"It's ok. I forgive you." We sat in awkward silence for a few minutes.

"Rhett?" He looked over at me.

"Why didn't you tell me you were gay?" He sighed heavily.

"I'm bisexual Link. And I tell that to very few people. The only people who knows re my parents and Stevie. And now you. I didn't tell you cause I thought it would create friction between our friendship. I thought you wouldn't accept me." Now it was my turn to hug him.

"I will always accept you man! You're my best friend in the whole world!"

Hey giys! Sorry I've not updated recently but it has been the holidays for the past two week and I've just been super busy! I will try and get back to are fulmar updating schedule but I can't make any promises.

Also I'm so proud of Rhett and links buddy system and reaching their 1000th episode! So proud of my boys! I will update more chapters in the future!
