one drive to the hospital later

Rhetts POV

"I really hope he's ok!" I paced back and forth throughout the corridor. I was waiting outside Links hospital room.

"Rhett honey he will be fine! Please don't worry!" I sat down next to Sue, my head in my hands. I sighed deeply. Suddenly a policeman came walking down the corridor.

"Mrs Capps? Can we please talk to you about what happened?" she looked at me in worry. I nodded and indicated. She walked away with the policeman, leaving me completely alone in the corridor. I leant my head back against the cold wall, my head pounding against my skull. I sat there for a good few minutes before the door to the hospital room opened. I stood up straight, eager to see any sign of Link. A nurse came out with a smile on her face.

"Mr Mclaughlin? Your boyfriend will be fine. He has suffered no internal bleeding, no broken bones." I sighed in relief at the news.

"He has suffered several bruises along the torso and the back area and gashes along his arms and stomach which we have had to give him stitches. He needs to be very careful in his movement for the next couple of weeks. We are gonna keep him under observation tonight then he can be released tomorrow. You can go see now if you want." she patted me on the back and walked off. I pushed open the door to see him lying in his bed, his face stretching into a smile when he saw me.

"Hey man..." his voice was sore and croaky. He moved over carefully and patted the space next to him. I walked over and sat gingerly next to him. I kissed him on the head as he leant on my shoulder.

"Thank you for saving me Link. You dragged your dad off of me! And I'm just so happy you are ok!" he laughed quietly.

"I know. I thought I was done for. I'm glad I got away lucky. What happened to him anyways?" he sighed.

"I knocked him unconscious and the last time I saw him he was being dragged into the back of a police car. Your mom is being questioned just now but he is not getting anywhere near you again! I promise you that!" I wrapped my arm around him. He snuggled down even more, yawning loudly.

"Why don't we go to sleep and we can talk in the morning?" he nodded and closed his eyes. As soon as I heard his soft snuffles I closed my own eyes and rested against him.

next day (at Rhetts home)

Links pov

"Rhett? Rhett!" I shouted from the bath. I heard the pounding of footsteps and Rhett appeared in the doorway, out of breath.

"What happened? You ok?" he glanced at me all up and down. I smiled.

"Can you please get my back? Please?" he smiled and sat down behind me. He grabbed hold of the sponge and rubbed it over my back carefully. He stopped after a few minutes, just glaring down at me.

"Am I hurting you at all?" I shook my head. After a few more minutes of helping me he disappeared. I craned my neck to see where he had went. He came back with a few fluffy white towels.

"Gimme your arm..." I blushed at the fact he was helping me out of the bathtub. And I was completely nude. But he seemed unfazed. He carefully patted down my arms and my torso being careful of the bruises and the stitches. He left me again and returned with a pair of his sweatpants and a really large jumper. After a lot of careful moving I was ready.

"Wanna watch a movie? I made popcorn!" I smiled and nodded. We headed downstairs and we sat on the couch, my head in his lap.

"Hey do the mythical beasts know what happened?" I looked up to him.

"Well while we were sleeping in the hospital bed your mom took a photo of us and posted it on facebook. One of the mythical beasts saw it and soon my twitter was flooded. I said nothing serious happened and that we will be off for the next week and half while you recover." I nodded and smiled. He leant down and planted a soft, beardy kiss on my lips.

"Love you Link." I smiled back.

"Love you too."
