Chapter two

Gryffindor my ass

Lily wasn't feeling particularly like a Gryffindor the next morning. Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling - she was currently trying to convince herself that last night was a dream. That James Potter didn't snog the life out of her in their shared common room.

She sighed and closed her eyes, but all she could see was brown eyes staring at her hungrily - and all she could smell was the embers of the fire and the smell of his Muggle cologne.

Groaning, she covered her face with a pillow. She didn't need this. She was cowering in her dorm because of JAMES POTTER.

Lily tried to remind herself that this was the same James potter that collected his pubes in a baggie and spent the whole month sprinkling them onto Sirius's food when he wasn't looking.

Lily rolled her eyes, getting up and sitting on the side of the bed, she could hear James clanking about in their shared kitchenette area, he was never one for being subtle.

taking a deep breath, she opened the door - ready to grace a panicky, awkward and flustered James Potter.

She made her way to their sofa, lying will her legs stretched out and grabbing her advanced potions book, looking for a potion that will cure crippling awkwardness.

she didn't even notice James's presence until he was tapping her bare leg.

"Ginger, move your legs," James said, patting her legs so he could sit.

she looked up, and relief spread over her - he held two mugs. Lily's Spiderman Muggle mug and James's harpies quidditch mug.

he made her tea.

"Brunette, there's another sofa" she teased, pointing to the smaller couch. James just scoffed and she moved her legs and handed her the Spiderman mug.

she smiled in thanks, before making the bold decision to place her legs back in his lap.

To her bliss, he rolled his eyes in mock annoyance but he started stroking them tenderly, so tenderly Lily could have cried on the spot.

"I don't get it," James said, making Lily automatically freeze, reacting her fight or flight mode.

"Don't get what?" she said, maintaining calmness

"If he's supposed 'spider-man' why doesn't he have eight limbs?"

"cause he isn't a spider, he just has... spidery tendencies" Lily retorted.

"But it's just not biologically accurate!"

"Jamie neither is shooting webs out of his fingers" Lily laughs, not even realising she called him by a nickname.

Surprisingly unwavering, James leant back
"If he's in America as you say"

"He's in New York yes"

"Then is there a British Spiderman? like what if we are under threat?! what about US LILY"

"Why don't you give it ago, I'm sure you'd be great at the swinging bit"

"Your right, I'd be bloody fantastic, plus the suit would look spectacular on me!"

She rolled her eyes but silently agreed, he would look brilliant in a Spiderman suit.

They sat in blissful silence for around ten minutes, with Lily pretending to read her book and James trying to be sly with staring at her.

Lily looked up, her eyes meeting James's - the lust ridden ones she was met with last night were replaced by adorable puppy dog ones.

"James.. i-"

Lily was interrupted by a violent knocking at the door, with Sirius's yelps.

"JAMESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS PRONGSSSSSSSSSSS JAMESSSSSSS JAMESON JIMMYYYYYYY JIMMMM"

James opened his mouth to say something but closed it, offering Lily a silent apology as she moved her legs off of his lap so he could answer the door.

"Padfoot this better be fucking brilliant-"

James said, opening the door and stepping outside, not allowing Sirius to come in. Lily was grateful as she certainly didn't want Sirius to see her just in shorts and a Disney Bambi T-Shirt (something her mother purchased after learning her daughter's Patronus was a doe)

Lily took the opportunity to shower and she made a vow to speak to James about, the kiss.

Lily was taken aback by James's reaction. He was so normal. Lily knew she desperately needed to speak to Remus. She was about to burst any minute.

Remus apparently was itching to talk to Lily as well. Lily was on her way to breakfast, walking alone after James had seemingly disappeared with his no.2.

Lily tried to hide her disappointment by overcompensating and bringing a book to breakfast. Before she could even make it to the great hall, she was torn from the corridor.

"What the fuck?" Lily said, before looking up to see the fretful face of Remus Lupin, who looked even paler than usual.

"oh sorry Rem, but why the fuck did you snatch me like some kidnapper?!" Lily said, looking around the corridor to find that they were alone.

"sorry, Lils I just REALLY need to speak to you" Remus stammered, and Lily could feel how clammy his hands were on her shoulder.

"Me too! oh, Remus, you're never gonna believe what happened last night with Ja-"

"I had sex with Sirius"

Lily stopped in her tracks.
"YOU DID WHAT?"

"Shush! merlin do you want the whole wizarding world to know?!"

"sorry Rem, but what in the everloving fuck?!"

"Come on, we're going back to my dorm, this can't be talked about here." Lily said, grabbing his arm and marching them back to their dorm.

"FUCK" Sirius yelped, the sting of James's slap burning the whole right side of his face.

"You GIT!" James said, raising his hand to slap the other side

"Prongs-" Sirius started but it was too late, James was swinging for him. Luckily he ducked and dodged his friend's lethal slap

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU COULD-" James screamed, swinging again and again for Sirius, who was scrambling about.

"HOW DARE YOU USE MOONY" James screamed, grabbing Sirius's hair

"Prongs not the hair-"
James gave the locks an aggressive tug

"Moony is NOT one of your idiotic one-night stands, you don't get to use him for SEX," James said, tugging again on Sirius's dark locks.

"Prongs- FUCK ouch I'm- not, it's not-" Sirius began

"You swore to me you wouldn't use him, you took a marauders OATHE," James said, yanking again.

"James- JAMES LET GO!"

"Not until you promise to never do it again!"

"prongs, I can't promise that-"

YANK

"FUCK I can't because"

PULL

"WOULD U STOP PRONGS IM TRYNA TELL YOU THAT I LOVE HIM, I LOVE MOONY!"

James squealed, letting go of Sirius, sending him crashing to the floor

"You're in LOVE WITH HIM?" James said, resembling Sirius in the puppy-like manner of his movements

"YES PRONGS! NOW ENOUGH WITH THE ABUSE!"

James furrowed his eyebrows, crossing his arms and inspecting the dishevelled heir.

"you're not saying you love him to get out an of a beating are you?"

Sirius laughed, rolling his eyes

"Prongs, I smelled him"

"Um..? congrats?" James said, raising his eyebrow at his brother

"Not, In general, you pie! in the Amortentia" Sirius groaned, rubbing his head to comfort the pain

James blushed
"Y-yeah I knew that"

"Who did you smell?"

James smiled, thinking of how he smelled Lily's hair, the familiar vanilla shampoo that was in the potion.

"Your mum"

"Okay but was it.. good?" lily grinned, taking a sip of her coffee, the familiar spiderman on the front making her smile and think of James.

Remus nodded fast and flushed
"REALLY good, like... best sex of my life good" Remus confirmed, mimicking Lily and taking a sip out of his mug, (A gag gift fromJames which had Wolverine on the front)

"What happened after? Like did you cuddle or..?" Lily prompted, dying to hear every last detail.

"I mean... yes? and no... he held my hand" Remus scratched his neck nervously.

"He did what?! why would he- what is he? a child crossing the road?"

Remus scoffed but smiled, seeing Lily's bright smile

"I'm so happy for you rem" Lily said, smiling thinking about how happy Remus could be.

"I mean, I dunno - it's Sirius I'm not trying to put all my hope in it but.. I think I love him lils"

Lily put down her mug and clapped her hands gleefully, throwing her arms around her best friend.

"Are you jealous Evans?"

Lily blushed but rolled her eyes, remembering her idiotic crush on Remus in fourth year - trying to ask him out and giving him valentine's gifts.

She had managed to coax him out to hogsmeade where on the date, Remus blurted that he was bisexual, and therefore Lily should stay away.

"I'm still not over you Remmy!" lily teased
"you really broke my soul"

"that's bullshit Evans, you know gingers have no souls"

Lily swatted him playfully, but her attention was drawn to the door, where a rather gleeful James potter stepped through.

Lily watched him in anticipation, she knew he had been talking to Sirius about it. She was ready to completely and utterly kill him if he was anything less than accepting.

James stopped and looked at Remus on the sofa, tearing up he leapt over and onto Remus's lap, smothering him with cheek kisses and hugs

"MY MOONY MY BEAUTIFUL BROTHER IN LAW" he exclaimed, kissing the tip of remus's nose.

"oh Jesus" Lily let out, making no attempt to rescue Remus

"jealous lils?" James teased, catching lily's eyes. Lily leaned forward and grinned

"Very"

James just smiled and leaned forward and kissed the tip of HER nose, causing a almost painful blush to heat up her face. She was certain she was the same colour as her hair.

Remus just sat, looking at the two, before James got up out of his lap and headed over to the kitchenette.

Lily looked up, meeting her friends eyes for the first time. Remus leant forward and whispered

"MUCH. to discuss..."

Lily shrugged
"If you want an appointment contact my manager."
