PROLOGUE

Keisha Persaud and Sergio Perez had been friends for years.

The man was always the one to help her with absolutely anything and everything, since all he wanted to do was make her happy. He helped her raise her son, he helped her pay her bills, he helped her to find a man good enough for her.

However, he had always harbored feelings for her and even though he knew that they could never be together, it didn't stop him from doing his very best to help her find somebody who would make her as happy as she could be.

He never expected to find her on his doorstep the night before a race, in tears and begging for him to love her.

He knew that he should have been resting, but his friend was in a state of tears and sobs so he couldn't not find out what had caused her to be like this.

It turned out, that the guy he had found for her, was certainly not good enough for her and it broke him to see how upset she was over it.

His heart yearned for her, aching to take her in to his arms and vow to be the man to love her endlessly, but he wasn't sure that he could do it.

He didn't want to mess it up.

It didn't matter, because at the look of fear on his face, Keisha was finally able to piece it all together as to why he stuck around.
