small summary of what happened last chapter just in case u forgot: everyone took valeria out to ihop because she's been stressing out about quince planning, and, for a surprise, the waiter that came to the table ended up being valeria's father, valeria goes off on him and by the end of the chapter Schneider surprises the girls with the adoption papers he signed and now Valeria and Sofia are officially Schneider's children.

Valeria stood inside her closet, searching through the sea of clothes. She soon saw a green hoodie that she then realized was one of Alex's. She paired it with a pair of black jeans, a cropped white tank top, and green converse. As she was looking at the outfit in the mirror she heard the sound of her bedroom door opening. Her eyes shifted in the direction of the door and Alex came into her view.

The corners of her lips curved up into a smile and a blush glossed across her face. "I was looking for that hoodie yesterday," Alex mentioned, pointing at the hoodie that Valeria stole.

"There's no way in hell I'm giving it back," Valeria said with her smile becoming brighter. Alex walked up to her, wrapping his arms around the back of her neck, and pulled her closer to his body.

"It looks better on you anyway." He whispers before placing his lips on hers. They didn't pull away until they heard the door to her bedroom swung open and Schneider stood there with his arms crossed. Alex quickly jumped away from her and stood there awkwardly.

"Can you please knock?" Valeria smiled lightly as Schneider threw his hands up in surrender.

"Nikki is here to drive you and your friends to the museum." Schneider informed them. Valeria rolled her eyes hoping that her father didn't do what she thinks he did.

"You didn't talk to her, right? Because every time you come into contact with her you end up sleeping with her and I don't want to be scarred again." Valeria scolded him and Alex chuckled.

"Wow, your own daughter is parenting you." Alex said, smiling. As those words were said  Schneider snapped his head towards Alex, and his smile dropped.

"Stay in the apartment." Valeria demanded. "Fine." Schneider sighed and left her room. Seconds later, Alex grabbed his girlfriend's hand and they walked outside to the car.

The group arrives at the museum and Valeria is currently walking around with Jade and Celeste looking at some of the exhibits. Suddenly the girls hear yelling and running. They look behind them and see Alex, Hugo, and Finn running to them. "You guys are so loud, shut up, we're in public." Jade whisper yells.

"You're no fun." Finn huffs.

"You assholes are gonna get us kicked out. So, if you don't shut up I'll chop your dicks off and feed them to my dog." Celeste gets up in their faces and Valeria laughs.

The boys walk away and Valeria rolls her eyes at them. "They're so obnoxious. Remind me why we're friends with them." Valeria scoffs.

"Well one of them is your boyfriend so you kind of have to deal with him and his weird ass friends." Jade says.

"Look at them." Celeste nods her head over in their direction. Jade and Valeria look over at them and all you see is Alex touching the boob of a statue and Hugo taking a picture of it. Valeria just shakes her head and continues walking around with her friends.

"Hey, babe can you come here?" Valeria hears Alex ask from behind her. She turns around and walks over to where Alex is standing. He smiles and pulls her closer to him.

"What?" Valeria asks as her dimples poke through her cheeks.

"You look really pretty today." Alex says putting a piece of her hair behind her ear and he gets closer to her.

"Alex, what are you doing? And whatever you're trying to do can wait till we go home." Valeria gets a little nervous. Valeria didn't want to do too much PDA in front of their friend group because she didn't want to make them too uncomfortable.

"I'm not doing anything..." Alex trails off before placing a hand on Valeria's right boob. Valeria's eyes widen and she grabs his wrist, but, before she could pull his hand completely off she hears a click. She snaps her head in the direction of the sound and sees Finn holding up Alex's phone.

"What the fuck, Finn. Delete it, now." Valeria runs over to him.

"Hell no." Finn chuckles and Valeria jumps on his back in an attempt to choke him but Alex is quick to pull her off. Valeria pushes him away from her and Alex tells her he'll delete it. Valeria although is still very angry and walks out of the museum.

Nikki pulls up to Valeria and Alex's apartment building, as soon as the car stopped Valeria rushed out of the car, she didn't say bye to Nikki or Finn and she didn't wait for Alex. Alex runs after her trying to catch up. He sees Valeria getting into the elevator and runs full speed to it. Valeria rolls her eyes as soon as Alex gets into the elevator and completely ignores him till they get to the correct floor.

The two walk over to the Alvarez's apartment and Alex uses his key to open the door. "Well, we had a wonderful time at the museum, exposing ourselves to art." Alex says and he walks in with Valeria behind him. "Such bullshit." Valeria thinks to herself. Schneider looks up at Alex with anger scribbled all over his face and Valeria takes notice of it.

"I'm gonna kill you, kid." Schneider charges at Alex but Matt and Penelope hold him back. Alex's eyes widen and fear takes over him. "What did I do?" Alex says with a slightly shaky voice. Those words make Valeria even more upset.

"I saw your finsta." Penelope states holding up a phone in her hand. "What? But Scott told me bro-workers before-" Alex begins to speak before being cut off by Penelope. "Nope!"

"Look, it's not a big deal. Everyone has one of those." Alex says with his famous smirk plastered on his face. "Does everyone post pictures of themselves running around like a goose honking everything in sight?" Penelope questions. Valeria felt a slight pain in her heart. Alex lied to her and said he wouldn't post it and he didn't even delete the picture when she told him to.

"What?" Alex asks in confusion. "Honking boobs!" Penelope exclaims. "Alex, Alex, Alex, I mean... tweaking tatas. Fondling fun bags. Grabbing gazungas." Matt rambles causing Sofia to punch him in the arm. "You make this relationship abusive." Matt groans while looking at his girlfriend. "I don't give two shits." Sofia smiles which makes her sister smile as well.

"Look, it's just dumb stuff that makes my friends laugh, and gets me 320 likes." Alex says while getting a nasty look from Schneider. "Why is he acting like this is a joke?" Valeria whispers to Sofia. Sofia takes her sister into her grip and strokes her hair, trying to calm her down.

"It's not cute, Alex. Especially how you treated Valeria." Penelope said causing Alex to look at Valeria whose head was buried in her sister's neck. "She is right, Papito. I have taught you better manners than that." Lydia says getting out of her chair.

"Actually, I taught you better manners than that." Penelope argues. "Because I taught you better manners than that." Lydia snaps back, pointing at Penelope. "Pero in this case I feel responsible. When Alex wanted to ask Valeria out I told him 'Don't take no for an answer.' 'Wear her down.' But then she did it for him." Lydia explains and everyone looks at her shocked.

"Mami, you literally told Alex no means yes?" Penelope asks. "Oh, no, no. What I said was, 'every no is a yes in disguise.'" Lydia replies.

"Oh my god." Elena exclaims in frustration. "Abuelita, you are an enabler of toxic masculinity." Elena stands up from her seat.

"Oh, please, I do not enable toxic men. I clean Papito's room twice a day." Lydia says.

"Maybe if he wasn't babied all the time he could realize why what he did was wrong." Sofia scoffs, darting her eyes at Alex.

"Toxic masculinity is how society has encouraged men to define their maleness as being aggressive, unemotional, sex-obsessed." Elena explains.

"You're just describing a man." Lydia responds. "That's true but that doesn't mean it isn't wrong." Valeria speaks quietly from her sister's side. Syd reaches over and puts their hand over Valeria's to comfort her.

"Maybe in your day but times changed. Men need to be careful about how they talk to women, or else they'll get in trouble." Penelope says.

"Oh, poor men! 'now I can't yell from a passing car that I think a woman has sweet tatas.'" Elena says with sarcasm.

"I know, it's a shame." Lydia shakes her head. "What?" Matt asks a little shocked. "In my day, when I walked down the street, I would hear a symphony of compliments." Lydia says with a slight smile.

"You were being harassed." Elena informs her. "Oh, yes. Much more than all the other women." Lydia says sounding proud.

"Mami, maybe you're comfortable with that type of attention but not everyone is." Penelope lectured.

"You know what then they are crazy. Women want to be wooed. Like your Tia mimi. Well, when she met your Tio Rico, she did not like him because he was a... feito. But Rico was not stopped by his unfortunate face. You see, had a beautiful farm. And one night, he broke into Mimi's room and blindfolded her... and they went for a 'drive'." Lydia rants and everyone looks at her with wide eyes.

"Do I wanna hear the rest of this story?" Elena asks in discomfort.

"And the next thing Mimi knew, she was afraid and barefoot, standing in the middle of a sugarcane field." Lydia continues.

"Oh, my god." Elena exclaims. "I know, bare feet. Pfft! Entonces, Rico took off her blindfold, and she swooned. Because it was dark and it was working for him. And then Rico says, 'this can all be yours. Mimi. Will you be mine?' And ticky-tocky, they've been married ever since. That is romance." Lydia finishes her story.

"That is the plot of Taken 2." Penelope argues. "He could have done that, you know, without kidnapping her." Matt sighs.

"And 'ticky-tocky' seems to smooth over some really horrifying things." Elena says. Schneider sighs before finally releasing his anger and standing up.

"Okay, Alex, here's the thing about women." Schneider begins to speak. "Oh, god."Penelope rolls her eyes.

"Women are beautiful. The curve of their neck, the way that they move, everything." Schneider states. "Preach!" Syd pitches in.

"That's why I'm an ally. No means no. Yes means yes." Schneider adds.

"But it's more complicated than that, Schneider. It can't just be a yes. It has to be an enthusiastic yes." Elena explained. "A hell yes!" Syd jumps up.

"Oh, I've never gotten one of those." Schneider puts his hands on his hips.

"We will show you." Elena gets up with Syd.

"Mom, can I please go to my room now?" Alex asks annoyed. "No, honey. I think it's important that you watch this." Penelope points at the couple in front of them. "Really?" Alex scoffs.

"Syd, may I please place my hand on your shoulder?" Elena asks in a forced tone. "Yes." Syd responds and Elena places her hand on their shoulder. "May I place my hand on your waist?" Syd asks in the same tone. "Yes!" Elena replies with enthusiasm.

"Oh, boy, I can feel the heats."Lydia says, fanning herself. "May I lovingly caress the slope of your cheek because it feels like home?" Syd continues.

"Oh, come on. Is this really what the kids do?" Penelope chuckles. "Yes!" Elena and Syd say in unison. "No one's ever done that." Alex says almost cutting them off.

"Be real, this is how your first kiss went?" Penelope questions. "Oh, no, not at all this one just went for it." Syd smiles while gesturing to Elena.

"So you didn't know if you had their consent." Alex taunts. "We were just demonstrating the ideal." Elena tries to save herself. "I remember she pulled that Doctor Who scarf around my neck." Syd goes on.

"Okay, Syd." Elena says hoping they'll stop. "Kinda choked me actually." Syd added. "Okay." Elena says through a fake smile. "The cops had to break us up." Syd says before Elena takes their shoulder and sits them down.

"I gotta admit, I'm getting kinda confused." Alex reveals. "Oh, my god, me too. What if someone says, 'I am not sleeping with you tonight.' And then... an hour later they're like, 'eh, fine.' What's that?" Schneider asks stressed.

"Unsurprising." Penelope replies.

"How many women have said, 'eh, fine'? Syd looks at him weirdly. "Yeah, I got to make some calls." Schneider runs out of the apartment.

"Now I'm really confused." Alex says. "I know. It's confusing. I hate to admit it, but I feel sorry for men. This consent thing is tricky." Penelope pointed out.

"No. Women always blame themselves, and then the man never has to take responsibility. During rape prevention week at school, all the signs are aimed at women. 'Girls, don't dress provocatively. Girls, don't walk alone.' How about, 'Hey, guys, don't rape.' Elena rambles.

"Oh, my god, why are we talking about that? I took a couple pictures as a joke and Val thought it was funny." Alex says getting defensive. Now that is what made Valeria's blood boil.

"I didn't think it was funny. I told you NOT to post it, in fact, I TOLD YOU to delete it. AND LOOK WHAT YOU DID! Stop lying in front of everyone's face and I won't sit here and be ignored and feel awful because of you. Excuse my language but, WHAT THE FUCK is going on with you. You touched me unexpectedly and inappropriately in front of all of our friends. I was humiliated and the way you were laughing didn't help. You hurt me and you need to fucking realize it!" Valeria says yelling and crying. She runs into Elena's room and locks the door. The sound of Alex and Elena yelling fills her ears but, she tunes it out and drops to the floor, sobbing.

Alex now stands in front of Elena's bedroom door, with Valeria on the other side as she lays in the fetal position and her arms cuddle a pink throw pillow. The boy takes a deep breath before knocking. "Um, hey. Can we talk, please?" No answer. Alex decided to try opening the door but it was locked. He realized how much he hurt her and would do anything to fix it. "Val, please open the door. I'm so sorry. Please." Alex's voice cracks slightly as tears fill up his eyes.

Valeria contemplated on letting him in but she had to open the door eventually and talk to him. Her bare feet hit the cold hardwood floor and she flinches at the sudden feeling. She places her hand on the knob as soon as she reaches the door and slowly turns the lock the other way. When Alex starts to hear the slight jingling of the knob he's quick to open the door. He is now face to face with Valeria, with her eyes red and her cheeks, stained with a mixture of tears and mascara.

Alex begins to cry himself while looking at her. "I'm so sorry I'm an idiot." Alex brings her into his arms but Valeria doesn't talk or move.

"Are you gonna actually apologize because you saying sorry over and over won't make me forgive you." Valeria said, not making eye contact.

"I'm an asshole. I shouldn't have let Finn say that or take the picture but I just wanted to seem cool even though hurting the person you love isn't cool. And I now know you won't always agree to certain things and I should always make sure you're okay with it. And I'm also really sorry for lying and posting the picture and I understand if you don't want to be with me after this." Alex says in a low tone while looking down at his shoes.

"Hey." Valeria places her fingers on his chin and lifts his head up. "I'm not gonna break up with you but I'm also not gonna fully forgive you until I know that you've changed." Valeria wipes the tears falling on his cheeks. She then pulls him in by his shirt and hugs him tightly.

"Can I kiss you?" Alex asks. Valeria starts to laugh and Alex looks at her confused. "What?"

"You're learning." Valeria smiles before kissing him.
