Sleepover

Rosanna's POV:

I looked over at the clock, it was getting late so I figured I should get going.

"Well, this has been really fun you guys, but I should probably leave now, it's getting late."

The response was overwhelming.

"NOOO, you can't leave yet!  We're having too much fun!"  Everyone had such sad looks on their face's, but I had to resist the puppy eyes.  Must resist...

"What do you propose I do, then?  I need to go job hunting and look for an apartment, the sooner the better, and I can't do that if I don't go back to the hotel and get some sleep!"

Everyone looked crestfallen, but then Liam's face lit up.  Oh no.

"What if you were to go back to your hotel, get some stuff, and then come back here and we can have a sleepover here in Louis's flat?  That would solve the problem, wouldn't it?  And then maybe the girls can go flat hunting with you tomorrow while we're at interviews?  Would you agree to that?"

Everyone was looking at me with such hopeful looks in their eyes, I couldn't say no.

"Alright, I'll go get some stuff and I'll be back in a few."

One Hour Later

We just finished setting up the living room for our sleepover.  Everyone had a designated area to sleep in, but I had a sneaking suspicion that those areas would end up being violated fairly quickly.  Just being around them for less than half a day made it readily apparent that they had very little concept of personal space, everyone was constantly up in each other's personal space bubbles.

I had changed into my favorite pajamas with a sports bra underneath, there was no way I was going bra-less while sleeping with a bunch of guys, no matter their relationship status or their moral high-ground.  It wasn't happening.  My hair was down, as per usual when I slept.

Louis raised an eyebrow at my choice of pj's.  I looked down at my Star Wars shirt and shorts, wondering what he thought so odd.

"What are you looking at, Stripes?"  I challenged him playfully.  He grinned ruefully.

"You got me there, I suppose I can't judge after the whole stripes thing."  He shook his head and plopped down on his sleeping bag, which happened to be right next to mine.  When had that happened?  It was across the room before.  Wait.  I had seen Niall moving it earlier when nobody was supposed to be looking.  I mentally shook my head at his antics whilst everyone else trailed in.  None of the boys were wearing shirts, and while Liam and Niall were both wearing sweatpants, Harry and Louis were both just in their boxers.  it didn't bother me, though.  Growing up with an older brother cures you of being uncomfortable with boys in boxers very quickly.

Liam turned out the lights, and I fell asleep almost immediately, exhausted from the long day.  If only I was able to sleep through the night.

Rosanna's Dream

I was back home in the house I grew up in, in Ohio.  I lived in it by myself and then with my boyfriend once my mom moved out to a different house, the memories here were too much for her but I liked having the constant reminders.  I walked down the hallway, looking at the pictures on the walls, from back when we were happy, before we were scattered.

A thud came from behind me, I whipped around and there he was.  My ex-boyfriend, Joshua, his green eyes gleaming from the darkness.  They were so much like Harry's but they were harder, darker, angrier.

"I see you finally came back, huh b****?"  He asked me, voice just as pompous and overbearing as ever.

"Yes...?"  I said it more like a question and mentally kicked myself.  Yes he punished me when I was to bold but it was always worse when I was hesitant.  He smirked evilly, walking towards me with that slow swagger that I had found so attractive once upon a time.  I tried to move, to run, but I was frozen where I stood.  He stopped just in front of me, arms crossed and still smirking.  And then he began.

Hitting me.  Over and over again, until I was just numb, there wasn't any pain anymore, but I couldn't seem to stop screaming...

I sat bolt upright, a soft scream dying in my throat as I calmed down from the horror of it all.  Why did it have to come back to me, here, of all places?  I was covered in cold sweat, physically shaking, throat dry, a few stray tears making their way down my face.  I leaned against the couch, legs pulled up to my chest, rocking back and forth panting, trying to get rid of the memories that came flooding back through the barriers that I had so carefully constructed only to have them broken by Louis screaming earlier.  I was still shaking, trembling in fear and pain and anger, trying to focus on anything except my dream.  What was Louis mumbling about, something about flowers?  Joshua bought me flowers once...NO!

A hand reached out and touched my shoulder.  I slapped my hand to my mouth to keep from shrieking and jumped violently away from whoever it was, turning to look at them with bloodshot eyes.  It was Liam.  He looked down at me, concern written all over his face as he sat down next to me, not touching me, but being a physically close presence.  He leaned back against the couch, looking straight ahead, not saying anything.

Liam's POV:

I woke up to the sound of a thud.  I have become a light sleeper out of necessity, because whenever someone wasn't feeling well it was me they called for, so I had learned to wake up at the slightest concerning noise.  I looked around, trying to see through the darkness and find out who had made the noise when movement caught my eye.

Rosanna was silently thrashing, whimpering quietly in her sleep.  She kept hitting the couch, that was the thud I heard.  I watched her for a moment, but before I could go wake her up she woke up by herself, the quiet beginnings of a scream leaving her lips before she clamped them shut.  She was shaking horribly, panting in fear.  She curled up into a ball against the side of the couch, holding her legs and rocking back and forth, her face buried in her knees with her hair draped round it, hiding her head from view.

I quietly stood, making sure not to wake Jess, who was right next to me, and avoided the multiple sleeping bodies, stepping over Louis who was mumbling something about flowers in his sleep.  I bent over and tapped her on the shoulder.  Probably not my best idea, I should have said something instead of just touching her.

She jerked away from me, hand flying to her mouth as she looked up at me, complete and utter terror written all over her face and in her bloodshot eyes that were twice as big as normal; a few tear-stains on her cheeks.  She was still shaking badly, but I could see the recognition on her features so I sat down next to her, taking care not to touch her.  I remained silent, giving her time to compose herself, which worked as the shaking gradually slowed and stopped and her eyes lost the terror in them, although there was still pain in them.  How had I not noticed it before?  It was clearly there in her eyes, that undercurrent of pain that seemed to permeate them.  I examined her for a moment more before deciding to break the fragile silence.

"What were you dreaming about?"  I whispered, taking care not to be too loud and wake up anyone else.  She drew a deep, shuddering breath.

"Let's just say it was nothing good, okay?  You seem like a very nice, sweet guy and I think we will end up being very good friends, but for right now I met you less than twelve hours ago, and I just don't trust you guys that much yet.  Once I get to know you better, than maybe I will tell you.  But please, let it go for now, okay Liam?  You can tell the others if you want but I'm still not going to say what it was about."

She was very firm in her refusal, and I could understand what she was saying.  I was definitely discussing this with the lads later, though.

"Very well, I can respect that.  Can I give you a hug before I go back to sleep?"

"Of course you can!  I almost never turn down hugs, I love giving them and getting them."

So with that I wrapped her up in a gentle, brotherly hug, proceeding to then help her into her sleeping bag and then heading back to my own.  I checked the time on my watch.  2:33 am.  Good grief.  I cuddled back into my sleeping bag and automatically grabbed Jess, bringing her close to me and snuggling with her like I would a teddy bear, falling back to sleep almost immediately.

A/N:  Sorry I haven't updated this one in so long, it's been hectic and I have been working on my Thranduil story, You Must Have Faith (shameless plug).  I am going to be changing the ages of Rosanna and Louis to match that of the correct time period I have them in.  This is currently based between Zayn's last tour with them and the most recent one that I can't remember the name of, the one before their hiatus.  I hope you enjoy this update, I wrote the majority of this at around eleven o'clock at night, so if it's a little disjointed I apologize, let me know if there are any grammar mistakes that I missed, and let me know what you think of this chapter and what is going to happen next, I would love to have some input and any of your ideas that you would like to share I will take into consideration.  Next chapter will be more of Louis's POV.  Thank you for reading!
