Elijah's POV

"I have adapted to my audience, and I have let myself get involved. And it is great lust that encompasses me. And I am yet again indulging it, whereas I let my heart wither away. And then when I thought that I would forever only dream of her, she stands in front of me like a ghost that had arisen out of nowhere. Her chesnut eyes greet me with a familiar warmth that smile at me making me feel breathless. My heart burns with life again and I try so desperately to keep all my rising emotions at bay, as they command me to do just one thing and that is that to wrap my arms around her and never let her go. She says my name and smiles a little now and I can here her heart struggling to keep its composure. It always jumps with an unusual anticipation and I know it is conflicted and yet it speaks to me a song of dreams. I utter Elena!"

Elena's POV

"I can hear him talking to that vampire woman. I don't know why, but I feel hurt by the attention he gives her. I know that he can hear me and I try not to show it. Sure, like I didn't show it when he kissed me and he called me Katerina..... and there he stands now in his impecable suit, looking as he looks.I cannot but gulp at the sight of him. All I can think all of a sudden is the kiss. His lips on mine. And the way he said I missed you. And I know it was meant for her, but I wanted it to be me. I want to hear that he missed me. All my emotions are jumping and I don't care. Let them. He looks at me as he always does, like I am not real. I know he can see right through me. And I say his name,-Elijah!- because this is the only thing I manage to say and I wait for him to now say my name. And he does. And it is like always. I feel the chills stream down my spine."

After the initial moment of surprised passed, Elijah uttered softly-

"Elena, what brings you here?"

Elena then looked at Gia, who was watching closely at both of them. She had heard of the doppelganger and her dealings with the Originals. What she didn't know was what impact she had over them, especially Elijah.

"Yes. My manners. Excuse me. This is Gia. Gia- Elena."

"Charmed."- Gia said- " I better leave you two alone."- the vampire said and left in a flash.

Elena now glanced at the beer bottles on the table and then at Elijah.

He waited patiently for her to answer the question.

"Everything to do with you somehow always has to do with me and the other way around. Bonnie had a vision in which a powerful witch comes and bleeds me to death to be able to suck all the dark magic from a girl. Crazy! Or not? Bonnie said it all got diverted with Klaus having a child?!"

Elijah was quiet for a second.

"Crazy?! Everything that involves us is crazy enough to make complete sense."- Elijah said.

Elena sighed- "Then it is the truth?!"

"I don't know what the truth is, but there is a great threat looming in the shape of an aunt, Esther's sister, who threatents to take Hope as there was an agreement between Esther and her that she would claim every first born of any Mikaelson bloodline."

"I don't see why I have to do with any of it?!"- Elena said.

"This is why you are here?!"

"Not only for myself. I don't want to see a little girl suffer."- Elena then said- "Bonnie said that she had a message from Ayana that these imbalance of power will be costly."

"Does she know how to stop Dahlia?!"- Elijah asked.

"She is working on it!"- Elena said.

"You have come to warn me!"- Elijah then said with a shine in his smile.

Elena noded slightly.

"Thank you."- he said.

"Right."- Elena then said wanting to turn and leave.

"Elena?!"- he said stopping her.

"Yes?"- she said waiting.

"Where will you be staying?"- he then asked.

"I don't know yet. A hotel, I guess."- Elena answered.

She then walked out of his apartment.

Gia looked at her walk out of the building. It was clear to her there was more between Elena and Elijah than the threath of an ancient witch coming their way.
