Chapter ⌘ Three

ATTENTION! You're going to be super confused so if you don't want to be, read the author's note at the end of this chapter and then come back up!

before

"I can't do this meg! I'm not ready for this." Adrien stutter out. Running his fingers through his messy hair to what it felt like the hundredth time. His thoughts were running wild, the pain and guilt burn him like fierce fire.

"Adrien you're not thinking about this straight! You're scared, confused and upset. Don't make rash decisions when you are-" Megan paused to think for a word, but instead she waved her hands and traced invisibly his figure, "like this."

Adrien look at her desperate, he knew his best friend was right. But the fear glass over his moral reasoning and forced him to think moronically. Not thinking about the consequences at all.

"I could give it up for adoption," he whispered almost inaudible.

"It? It! We're talking about a human being, it's not some gum rapper that you can throw it and let the wind deal with it." Megan argued a bit bitterly.

"What should I do then?"He was desperate for answers but deep inside he knew his mind was already settled with the idea. Nothing that Megan could say would change his mind.

"Sleep on it. We'll talk tomorrow okay love?" She said softly, resting her hand on his shoulder. Looking at his green troubled eyes before pulling away her hand and exiting the blonde's apartment.

after

"Don't, Don't, Don't," her voice echoed.
"How can you sleep you heartless jackass? Your son is out there without anyone or anything. You talk so much bullshit about your father but you're just like him. Why do you think Manon is slipping away from your hands?"

Adrien jerked awake, breathing heavily, sweating seas. "Get out of my head!" He gasped, grabbing his hair and pulling the roots out of frustration.

"Adrien! Honey, what's wrong?" Marinette jumped awake, extending her arm to turn on the lamp on the nightstand. She turn to her husband that by now was crawled up in a sweaty, shaking ball. She softly rubbed his shoulder, watching him with concern.

"It's not true! It's not true!" He cried, clutching the sheets and pulling them. Hot tears rolling down his cheeks, his breathing was ragged; the voice in his head torturing him. He couldn't even hear his worried-yelling wife. "I didn't meant it! I'm sorry! Forgive please.."

Marinette continued to act hysterical. Not knowing what to do, as Adrien kept crying and saying nonsense. Distressed, she hugged him, and he hugged her back.

Slowly her warmth sink into to him, her lady powers affecting him like she always did. The voice fell into deaf ears and soon after he calmed down and fell asleep.

Marinette was worried out of her mind, she couldn't get the image of last night out of her head. She flipped the pancake but dazed out as she blankly looked at butter bubbling around the pancake.

Of course, Adrien in the morning told her not to worry. Told her that it was a nightmare and nothing else, apologized for scaring her, kissed her lips and then pecked her forehead to then shower as nothing had happened.

"Um, mum? The pancake won't flip himself." A raspy voice told her. She looked up startled to meet her youngest daughter's green eyes.

"Oh, yeah, right." She muttered, flipping the
—to her surprise— gold brown pancake.

Emma sat on the barstool that was facing Marinette and the stove. She watched how her mother's movements were rigid, how her eyes were never focused and how easily she daze out.

Maybe that has to do something with dad crying last night

"Mum, are you and dad okay?" Emma asked in a hushed to tone, attempting to not sound like an innocent 5 years old but to Marinette that's how exactly she sounded like. And it broke her heart. She just wanted to gather in her arms and protect her from all hurt.

"Oh, baby, c'mere." Marinette cooed as Emma came bobbing into her mother's arms. She hugged her tenderly and softly fondle Emma's blonde hair. "Your dad and I, will always be okay. He's going through something I still can't figure out. But I'll tell you as soon as I find out." She whispered, pulling away and kissing her daughter's forehead.

"Gee, some much drama everywhere!" Manon came into the kitchen with a bored look on her face. Taking the plate of bacon, kissing her mother's cheek and walking out the front door.

"Did she just took the plate full of bacon?"'
"Yep."
"Are you gonna make more?"
"Nop."
"So how-"
"If you hurry, you may catch her."

And just like that Emma, threw her backpack over her shoulder and bolted out the door.  Marinette chuckled to herself, taking the pancakes out of the pan and slicing it up.
Pouring some honey over it and a tip of whipped cream. Her stomach growled in anticipation.

A pair of strong arms circled her waist and pushed her back to a warm chest. "Ah, look at m'lady! Always thinking about me." He tease taking the plate from her hands. Immediately she screeched and literally bit his arm.

Which he yelp and toss her the plate back. "Jesus! Woman, no wonder we have a half- cat daughter!"

"It's simple honey, don't touch my food."

Adrien chuckled, looking at his lady with adoration. As she stuffed her face with pancake. A buzzing took his attention away from his wife, he looked over his phone and saw a name he wish he hadn't.

Megan

Oh, Hello babe!
How are ya?

Okayyyyyyyy

Well, I don't know if you saw the message I posted on my board. But if you didn't, I can only get hold of my account once in a while, the reasons are personal...

Anyway! Let's get to the good stuff! So, I was losing all interest in this story, maybe you notice? And I just didn't know where the hell was I going with this (like of most my stories :")) but then I got this organizing app
and an idea and it is all coming good.

(Ps: Bro, you need to try that app. It's called Bear, yep Bear! And it's awesome! I have organized every single of my stories and I have everything planned.)

Also, I realized what I was doing wrong. For example, I'm centered on Manon when the story is about Adrien and Marinette. See? That was my problem, I was so stuck because I was paying attention to the wrong character. Now, don't get me wrong, there will be some Manon drama, I promise.

What you need to know!

Nobody thought about what happened in those 5 years when Adrien was in America? Well now you'reeeeee going to find out! What did our cinnamon roll do those 5 years? Just giving you the beginning of the storm :)

Notes:
>Megan is his best friend from America.
> When there's a "before" it means a back in those five years and "after" its present time.
> And yes the prologue and the two first chapters are irrelevant to what comes next.

And you will find out more as the chapters pass along. To why, how, what and who.

That's all! If you followed my advice go back up, and start reading. If you didn't well... I'm sad :(

Au revoir!
~Nicki 🖤
