Factss
First some notes:
The "order" of the songs is the order that they have in the albums, because I don't know the order they recorded them in
Then I will not count Garage Days Re-Revisited, Garage Inc., S&M, Beyond Magnetic and Lulu, unless I mention them specifically
1. The songs with the longest intros are For Whom The Bell Tolls and Some Kind of Monster. In the first one James starts to sing at 2:07 and in the second one at 2:08
BUT
✨ TECHNICALLY ✨
(because it's not an intro, it's basically the whole song)
They are stupid losers, compared to another song, in which the lyrics start at a time when FTWB has already tolled its bells and SKOM was losing its integrity in typical St. Anger fashion (oMiNoUs I aM iN uS)
This song is ✨To Live Is To Die✨
Because the lyrics start at 7:34
That's quite a record lmao
2. And it also has the record of the second shortest (straw) lyrics in a Metallica song
Because the first one is obviously Anesthesia, with four words
3. And speaking of Anesthesia, the guy that says "Bass solo, take one" and Marianne Faithfull in The Memory Remains are the only two people outside the band to have vocals recorded in a song.
I mean, at least lead
4. We love some Anesthesia don't we?
Because there will be other two facts about it
Firstly, together with Fuel (w Load and Reload), it's the only song that starts with vocals and not guitar, or bass or drums
5. And secondly, it's the only song without guitar
6. Until Blackened, Cliff had recorded more songs than Kirk and James (and well, Jason)
You guess which was the song he recorded, it was Anesthesia of course
For a while Kirk and James had the same number of songs, but then Kirk lost another one because of Nothing Else Matters
The total amounts to:
Lars: 106 (the only one that has recorded all of them) (gigachad)
James:105 (no Anesthesia)
Kirk: 104 (no Anesthesia and Nothing Else Matters)
Cliff: 26
Jason: 46 (49 if we count Minus Human, No Leaf Clover and I Disappear, almost fifty damn) (maybe we can count Fock You)
Rob: 23 (37 with Beyond Magnetic and Lulu)
Bob Rock: 11
Jason surpassed Cliff with Hero of the Day, his 27th song
Rob will surpass him on the 4th song on the next album
And he'll be low on the list
I'm not ready for this, guys
OR HE ALREADY DID
WITH THE FIRST SONG ON LULU
WHICH TITLE I DON'T KNOW
SO WE'LL IGNORE IT
7. Anesthesia is the shortest ins-
No
I mean, yes
But the fun fact is not about that
It is about Motorbreath, the shortest song at all
Because it's 3:08 minutes long (cries)
And that has never changed
The longest one for example changed (almost) every album, maybe every two, while the shortest one has always been Motorbreath
There has to be some kind of affection now
Because the second shortest one is Hardwired, that is only two seconds longer
That seems a bit suspicious
8. The longest one now is Suicide and Redemption, at fucking 9:59 minutes (YOU DRAGGED THAT LAST RIFF FOR LIKE A MINUTE TO REACH THE 10 MINUTES LIKE A YOUTUBER THAT WANTS MONEY BUT YOU FAILED FOR A F SECOND?)
The previous longest ones were:
The Four Horsemen, 7:13
The Call of Ktulu, 8:54
To Live Is To Die, 9:48 (two seconds longer than the title track)
The Outlaw Torn, 9:49 (though the full, uncut version is 10:48, even longer that SAR)
And well yes, Mercyful Fate is like 12 minutes long but it's a medley
9. Why do they like red so much?
Literally five out of ten covers are based on red or orange
Kill Em All, Master Of Puppets, Load, Reload (kind of) and St. Anger
Literally three in a row
The other are by themselves, because we have one blue, one beige, one black and two whites (I know HTSD has different colors, but it's mostly white, if that makes sense)
And if we add the other bois, we see white and blue rising, but not as much as red
Because Garage Days Re-Revisited and S&M go in bho because they don't have a distinct color
Garage Inc goes in blue with Ride the Lightning
Beyond Magnetic is black like the Black Album (not as much because that's literally the black one but yeah)
And Lulu is white like Death Magnetic and Hardwired To Self (simphony of)Destruct(ion)
Kill me
Now
10. Let's count! (Yey)
In which song does James say "forgive me" more times, Low Man's Lyric or The Unforgiven III?
Both
It's both eight times
I don't think it was done on purpose, but it's still cool
Ok, we're done
I wanted to do something about the yeahs and the titles, but you can find videos about that and it wouldn't be something I noticed
I'm crazy, but not that much
We can talk about the credits though
Next time, I'm too tired now lmao
P.S. I found a notebook I was supposed to use for school last year but ended up never doing that
I picked it up last week and inside of it there were these two drawings:
I SOMEHOW MANAGED TO DRAW KIRK'S FACE, YOU KNOW HOW HARD THAT IS FOR ME
WHY CAN'T I DO IT
aaaaAAAAh
Ah, the self reference
I think the idea was to draw Cliff with cats you know
To make it legendary
But it never happened
(How is Prociogatti in English? Catcoons?)
I tell you, I'm writing a sequel, but I don't think it'll be as legendary because it's not a dream
Bye
