It's been a few weeks since bumping into Hero at Primark and I have been avoiding him wherever and whenever I see him. He doesn't work at the café anymore but he still comes for the food.

and today was one of those days. 

"Hey Jo!"

"Hi Hero... what would you want today."

"A cheese and bacon melt please, and i want red onions in that too."

"Sure! Anything else?"

"Just tap water with else, extra sauce in the melt and maybe a date with you?"

"WHAT!" I choke out, well that was unexpected.

"you heard me." he chuckles, winking.

"hero, you know i cant....." i tell him as i give the order back to the kitchen

"why though? we can go as friends. no romance." he says behind me, following my every steps

"i'll think about it..... ive thought about it and its a no."

"Josephine, please. Just as friends."

"Fine, pick me up after work."

"Thank you." He says, before taking his cheese melt and taking a massive gulp of the water and leaving.

i get back from home, changing into a casual top and trousers. 

"where are you going?" Tasha say?

"Out." I answer back with one word.

"I can see that.. but where?"

if i tell her im meeting with hero then she would get angry with me and i would feel like im betraying her.

"Im not sure where." I say truthfully might i add because hero didnt tell me where we are going. 

"Okay..." Tasha says looking unsure. "But with WHO!"

"My work colleauges." I say.

"YOUR ACTING SUS!" She exclaims, chuckling.

"It with a guy ok. i just dont want to talk about it--"

"is it with hero? because i know he works there--" She cuts me off.

"No its not! You told me to stay away from him." I assure her. "If i talk about i, i feel like i'll end up having feelings for him so im not talking about him."

"Oh..." She says, nodding. "Okay, but tell me how the date goes."

"Its not a date."

"Whatever, i have a date, so i probably wont come back." She winks.

"Excuse me? You were just pestering me about my night and you forget to tel me you have a flipping date! Where, who and WHAT!!"

"Their name is Jesse and we have actually been seeing each other for.... a while."

"How long is a while." I turn around frowning my eye brows. 

"6 months." Tasha scrunches her face.

"WHAT THE HELL. IVE BEEN HERE FOR LESS THAN 3 MONTHS AND YOU DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO TELL ME."

"You didnt bother to tell me about your date!" she argues back

"because its a one off, you've been dating this guy for half a year!" I shout back, putting my shoes and shoving my things in my side bag.

She just laughs it off and i make that my cue to leave the house. where i see hero already waiting and parked outside.

"You alright Jo?" Hero welcomes me in his car.

"No." I say putting my seat belt on. 

I think this is a big mistake.
