Chapter 47

"D'you suppose we'll go on tour?"

"Hm?"

"The show. D'you suppose it'll go on tour?"

Virgil shrugged and fiddled with one of the buttons on his jacket. "I mean, I guess? If we sell enough tickets here, which I think we are, we could. London's pretty expensive and not many people can come here. So... maybe? Why?"

Roman shrugged. "I was just wondering. Just cause some shows do well and then disappear forever and I don't really want that to happen to Van Leer Rose."

"Why?"

Roman shrugged and looked at the floor. "Again, I think you already know the answer to that." He muttered.

"Huh?"

"Uh, nothing."

Virgil looked like he wasn't done with the subject but a little bell rang in the corridor.

"Show time." Virgil said half-heartedly.

"You'll do great, you've been great in all the other shows."

"That doesn't really stop me worrying that something's going to go wrong."

"Yeah, yeah, it really doesn't." Roman ran a hand through his hair.

"Careful of your mic." Virgil said, reaching out as if he was going to fix the mic. He opened his mouth a little in surprise and his hand shot into one of the pockets in his jacket. "Break a leg, Princey."

"Yeah, um, you too."

Roman blinked a little at the sudden light of the spotlight before looking at Virgil.

"Why're you here, Green?"

"I, uh, I... Didn't know it was illegal to walk around my own neighbourhood."

"It's not but you're walking on private property there. I'm pretty sure even here that's illegal."

Roman took a step to the side. "What's that meant to mean?"

"I think you know what it's meant to mean, Green. Or are you even more of an idiot than I thought you'd be?"

"Excuse me?"

Virgil looked at him, shaking his fringe out of his eyes and grabbing another box.

"Are... Are you packing up?"

"Uh-huh."

"But you just got here."

"So what? My dad's finished his job and we're moving back to Florida next week."

"You've only been here for three weeks."

"Yeah and?" Virgil asked, threading defensiveness and hidden anger into his voice with an ease that never ceased to surprise Roman. "Dad thought this job would take three months, not weeks. So we moved here. Lucky we only rented this stupid house." He laughed. "Your face, Green. If I didn't know better, I'd say you're upset to see me go."

Roman laughed. "Sad to see you go? Please, I'll be glad when you're gone."

"So will I." Virgil stormed off stage and Roman sighed.

"Well good. Cause I don't care." He muttered before storming back off stage.

Virgil knocked on Roman's dressing room door.

"Princey? You camera ready?"

"Huh? Um, yeah, why?"

"Cause Mina's locking up soon and she said that she's not coming all the way up here to, and I quote, get your gay ass out of the building. So I have to."

"Oh, right." There were a few seconds before the door unlocked and opened.

"Tada."

Virgil rolled his eyes. "Come on, Princey. Mina's gonna have both our heads if you don't move and I'm not facing the crowd outside without a distraction again."

"Okay, okay, I'm coming. If you can keep your head on, I'll grab my phone and then we can go."

Virgil sighed over-dramatically.

"Drama queen."

Virgil laughed. "Says you."

"Okay, fine. Maybe that was a bit of a hypocritical remark."

"A bit?"

Roman shook his head but didn't say anything more on the subject. "You know, I've been thinking."

"A dangerous pass-time."

"I know." Roman laughed at the Disney quote. "But Disney quotes aside, the fans of this show seemed to want my autograph more than yours."

"You were in a film. You're more well-known. The only really well-known thing I've been in was JD in Heathers."

"That's, um, the play about those murder-suicides. The unsolved ones."

"Yeah. Dad didn't wanna come to that, weirdly enough."

"Hm. Maybe it's a touchy subject or something. But anyway, why would they want my autograph more than yours if I'm not the main character."

"Jesus, this again?"

"Uh-huh."

"For the last time, Princey, Elliot March is the main character. It even says on the script."

Roman laughed. "Whatever you wanna believe, Sunshine."

"It says on the script!"

I didn't hate this chapter as much as the last one. So... yay. And don't worry, you'll get your romantic Prinxiety soon.
Bye,
Blaize
