I sighed as I examined the list of new products that were scheduled to be released this coming week.

I didn't understand much of this, except for the fact that one of them still needed to be tested again before it could be put on the market.

However, my dad insisted it would be good practice for me, so that when I took over the company...

I glanced up as I heard footsteps coming my way, and I frowned when I saw it was one of the tech boys.

Specifically, AJ.

AJ was one of our best techs, especially considering how young he was. In fact, he and I were the same age: 21.

As a result, he tried to flirt with me every time we saw each other, despite my telling him several times that I wasn't interested in him.

"Anthony," I said, using his first name deliberately to keep things professional, "do you have the results my father asked for?"

AJ frowned slightly, but he replied "Of course. The new computer works perfectly. It's been tested several times."

"Good," I said, then turned to go find my father.

As I did, however, I heard AJ say "Robyn, wait a moment."

I scowled, but turned back around, my arms folded.

"If this is another comment about how nice my eyes look or that I have a great body," I said calmly, "I don't want to hear it. And it's "Miss DeThanatos" to you, Anthony. We may be the same age, but I am still your superior, and I will be treated with respect."

With that, I turned and walked away, still fuming.
As I did, I heard AJ call out "Come on, Robyn! Why won't you at least go on a date with me? Is that such a tough thing to ask?"

I stopped where I was, turned to face him, and said "Because you aren't my type, Anthony Jenkins, and you never will be. It would be stupid to pretend otherwise, and it would only hurt us both."

And before he could say anything else, I was gone.
