Everything stopped. The pearl white clouds that covered the dark sky stood still. Everyone was frozen around me, only he was the one moving towards me.

His dark brown hair, his brown eyes that shone like all of the stars above us. His lips as soft as candy floss, making me crave his kisses. Everyone talks about 'feeling butterflies in your stomach'. I guess this is what that feels like.

It was a Tuesday. First two lesson of the day? English. Great, yet another two hours of me staring at him wishing he was mine. He sat right in front of me, perfect opportunity for me to admire him without being caught.. again.

There was just one small problem. The girl that sat next to him. We all knew that she liked him and part of me thought that he liked her too, I had no chance. She was smarter than me, prettier than me, skinnier than me, and wasn't a complete loser like I was. There was no way he'd like me, I probably didn't even cross his mind.

The teacher kept talking to the class, asking us question upon question before heading into a room and bringing back a box of books. Great, we had to read again, how fucking boring. "How about you read young man?" the teacher asked while looking right at him, part of me getting excited to hear his voice again. And when he started to read his voice gave me chills. The way his lips moved while saying each and every word just making my desire to kiss him stronger.

"Snap out of it Ana! He'll never like you!" These thoughts kept repeating in my mind, my pathetic attempt at not getting my hopes up. Did it work? Of course not. I was still the little stupid girl that wished he liked me back, even though the chances of that being true were too slim.

I'd give anything to know what he was thinking every time we saw each other. Did he like me? Think I was pretty? Did he even acknowledge my existence? My curiosity just kept growing and growing, and the fact that he wasn't giving me any signals was starting to frustrate me. Guess I'd just have to continue being the girl in the shadows, forever hoping he'd magically just approach me and tell me that he likes me. You know what they say, hope dies last right?
