PART 5: angel. touch.

It was unusual for Mal to be asked to present her little gallery in a magazine. However, Uma and she thought the publicity would be great for their small business to bloom.

Mal met with a reporter one of the afternoons making the interview go as smoothly and informatively as possible. Uma and Mal had made sure to highlight the best marking way to promote their life's work. After the interview, the man told them that they will come another day to take pictures of the gallery and would love to throw one or two of Mal's professional pictures since she was the founder and creator of the place.

Mal wasn't fond of his idea and was on her way to declining such photos when Uma stepped up and agreed with the interviewer that the idea was great and she should go for it.

So that is how she found herself in Evie's living room one Saturday afternoon.

Evie was preparing them a cup of coffee while they talked about their week. Ben was happily following Evie whenever she went to the kitchen and back. That is when the topic of Mal pictures came up. She has been so frustrated. She hadn't made any professional photoshoots since high school and she doubted that anyone would like to see those.

Evie sat next to Mal on the couch after the shorter girl explained the frustrating situation. The dark-haired woman's eyes suddenly filled up with excitement and Mal knew she had just come up with a great idea.

"How about this," the taller woman started with a devilish smirk. "You come over to my studio tomorrow and we take some great shots of you? I have a friend who will be thrilled to help out," she continued.

Mal felt uneasy over the suggestion.

"I don't know... I don't want to take up your free time and on top of that someone else's. It's Sunday tomorrow."

"M, please. It will be my pleasure to help you with that!" Evie returned. Mal was familiar with how much Evie enjoyed her job. She has spent hours listening to the dark-haired woman passionately talking about it. Evie made fashion sound like the most fascinating thing in the universe. But Mal was sure that if she talked about anything else it would sound just so unique as well.

After Evie's suggestion, Mal wasn't sure how she persuade her to agree, but she was relieved that she won't continue stressing over the damn pictures.

The next morning, Mal was greeted by very excited Evie, who could barely contain her eagerness to start their little project. They decided to walk to Evie's studio since it wasn't that far. They grabbed some coffee on the way, which Mal didn't believe Evie needed since the woman was already energetic enough.

When they arrived at Evie's studio, which was located in a giant skyscraper, they were met with another woman who was setting up her camera and lights around a white-ish background.

"Lonnie, good morning!" greeted Evie with a bright smile.

"Hi," the other girl returned and went to hug her friend. Then her eyes fell on Mal and she could see the excitement radiating off of her as well. "Oh wow, is that the model?" Lonnie said in awe. Mal laughed, feeling uncomfortable at the remark, which gave enough time for Lonnie to realize how the compliment sounded. "Uh, I didn't mean it in a bad way! I mean you are really pretty so.."

Mal could see how flustered the girl got and decided to laugh it out.

"I'm Mal, pleasure to meet you," she smiled at Lonnie who walked closer to greet her as well.

"Sorry about that, I am excited to work with you!" the Chinese girl smiled shyly, fixing some cables around her. "I don't usually have such an opportunity and this is a big deal for me."

"How come?" Mal asked, debating if she should help her or not.

"I am no professional photographer yet. I am on my last year currently, but Evie likes the way I capture people and I will be starting work here very soon." Lonnie explained.

Mal didn't notice that Evie has disappeared during the small talk she had with Lonnie. So when Evie called her from the end of the room she was a little surprised.

"Mal, come. Let me take your measures!" the dark-haired woman happily called her. Mal started walking in the direction where Evie was; she found it quite challenging to keep up with the taller brunette.

The blond walked into a room filled with clothes and different materials which were lying around a large desk. There were a few sewing machines and chairs. One of the corners of the room was covered with a curtain, working as a fitting room, Mal thought. There was a small podium that Evie stood next to unrolling a blue tape measure.

"Mal, come, stand here, please," Evie pointed to the small podium next to her and Mal put her bag on the big desk along the way. She climbed on the podium and waited for further instructions.

Evie did not say anything when she turned to her and started checking up her body with a thoughtful expression on her face. Occasionally the taller woman would bite her lip and Mal would feel her cheeks burning a little, feeling self-conscious about her body. The blond started getting tensed about the whole staring situation that she hadn't registered Evie's words. She hold her breath when Evie walked toward her and started pushing her jacket off her shoulders.

"What are you doing?" Mal breathed out feeling the back of her neck going on fire. She felt even more embarrassed about how her voice sounded.

Evie chuckled at the question and continued her work on taking Mal's jacket off. Mal's body went stiff when she felt the other girl's hands brushing on her arms upon taking the jacket off of her; not to mention how close Evie was.

"I asked you to take your jacket off, but you were out of this world and we don't have all the time in the universe to do this," Evie spoke after throwing the jacket on the table.

"O-oh," Mal stuttered, her body still tensed while her mind was having an internal crisis.

"Mal, relax. I am just gonna take your measures so I know what will fit you. Did you think I would let you take shots wearing this for a magazine?" Evie laughed.

"There is no need for you to dress me up," Mal finally composed herself.

"Well, I do not want you embarrassing yourself," the dark-haired returned. "Plus, I would love seeing my clothes on you," she added, "And the magazine of course." Evie quickly turned around hiding how flustered she got from her remark.

"What do you prefer?" Evie asked after faking a cough. "Dress or a suit?"

Mal looked at the back of Evie's head. The weird tension built up, but this time Mal knew Evie was feeling it too.

"Suit, I think it will look more professional," she replied. Evie hummed in agreement and went back to Mal taking her measures.

After a few minutes, which Mal felt like an hour with Evie moving around her body and writing down her proportions, the process ended. The taller woman has a last look over her before turning to her notes humming.

"Alright, go behind the curtain and take your clothes off. I will bring up a few suits in a minute," Evie instructed pointing to the black cloth handing in the corner of the room.

"Sure thing,"

Mal walked behind the curtain to be welcomed with a nice little corner. There was a small chair and a mirror on both of the walls above which were connected lights. Mal started taking off her clothes and after a few minutes, she heard Evie's heels echoing around the room, indicating she is coming closer in her direction.

"Mal, may I come in?" Evie asked a few moments later on the other side of the curtain.

Mal suddenly felt tensed at the thought of Evie seeing her in her underwear but then brushed it. Evie is a professional and this is her job, she has done this with many models. She calmed herself in a few seconds and glanced at herself in the mirror.

"Yeah," the blond woman breathed out.

Evie pushed the curtain just so she could walk in, feeling almost like the room was full of people and there were just the two of them huddled in this corner.

"So, I have picked a few suits of my new ones. There are a few different colors but if you are looking for a professional, I would suggest you use either black or white. This is the first one," Evie explained and handed her a black suit. "I have a few other shapes out here but we can start with this one and decide on it later, yeah?"

Mal wasn't sure if she was imagining things, but Evie would look anywhere but her almost naked body. Why was she even thinking of this?

"I will be just outside here, let me know if you need any help," the brunette said before disappearing from where she had come. Mal couldn't help but smirk at the exchange.

The first suit didn't look right to Mal so after trying a few ones her eyes, and Evie's of course, settled on a white one. That one, however, didn't cover Mal's bra the way the others did.

The blazer was low cut and Mal's bra was on a full display.

"Eves, I like this one," she said to the woman on the other end of the curtain. A few seconds later, Evie emerged in the changing corner, her brown orbs momentarily dropping on Mal's covered chest.

"Uh, yeah," Evie gave her a look over slightly flushed. "Yeah, lose the bra," the brunette said and stepped out once again.

Mal bit her lip and did what she was told. After taking off her bra she fastens the buttons on the blazer. She looked at herself in the mirror debating if it wasn't too revealing. She called Evie in once more.

"See? Isn't this better?" the taller woman asked her, her brown eyes fixated on her chest for a few seconds.

"Isn't it too revealing?" Mal voiced her thoughts and turned to the mirror to try and cover more of her cleavage.

"No, it is both sexy and very official," Evie licked her red lips as if to moisturize them.

"Girls, I'm all set up. Are you ready?" Lonnie screamed from the other room getting both of the women out of the tranced they were fallen in.

"Yeah, be right there!" Evie screamed back and smiled at Mal. "You look fantastic! Let me quickly do your hair and make-up,"

Mal has instructed Evie to not make any fancy make-up or crazy hairstyle. Evie promised her that and energetically instructed her as she and Lonnie discussed poses and shots angles.

Mal didn't like to be touched or let anyone do her make-up, or mess with her hair [going to a hairdresser was a nightmare to her every time she had to go]. But when Evie brushed her fingers through her hair; when she caught her chin to keep her steady; when she almost fell and instead sat on her lap; when applied a little lip gloss with her finger - Mal was sure that the woman had an angel touch.

For half an hour, Mal fell into a trance. Her green eyes tried to memorize every inch of Evie's skin, dementor, emotions, the color of her eyes, and the way her lips moved. Everything.

She wasn't doing it on purpose, she said to herself. Evie was just there and it wasn't like she could look elsewhere. Plus the brunette was distracted and couldn't be caught in her shameless staring. It was the perfect opportunity-

Opportunity for what? Mal thought to herself, she frowned at her thoughts.

"M, I'm almost done, please do not make faces," Evie purred close to Mal's face. Eyeliner in hand.

"Wow.." Lonnie wowed next to her.

"I know!" Evie smiled proudly, standing up and looking at Mal with bright eyes.

"What?" the blond asked, their gazes fixated on her.

"You look..." Lonnie was at a loss of words and that concerned Mal a little.

"Like an angel," Evie finished with a proud smile and hands on her hips. Mal's cheeks flushed at the remark.

"Thanks to you," Mal returned Evie's compliment and she didn't know that Evie's smile could get any bigger.

"Let's get started now!" Evie clapped her hands after a few moments.

Lonnie and Evie guided Mal on how she should pose and told her to enjoy herself. Evie often would come next to her and fix her suit or hair, at times Mal thought that she was making excuses to touch her, but then her mind was most likely fooling her once again.

It was a great experience for the three of them. Lonnie even took some shots with Evie and Mal, even tho Evie protested that she wasn't dressed for the occasion. Evie would wrap a hand around Mal's waist and smile at the camera, sometimes Mal's gaze would linger on her wondering if she have ever done modeling herself. She decided that is a topic for another time.

After their photoshoot, Evie went to briefly check some shots with a bright smile on her face. Her brown orbs would often find green ones starting a war between them.

Mal always looked away first.

Evie's would always linger longer.
