It's okay

Friendly reminder that you don't have to take everything seriously. Todoroki's dumb for shit n giggles. College isn't all friends and football like in this fic. And their idiotic behavior is also just for shit n giggles.

The break wasn't all too phenomenal. They took care of the apartment, argued with the neighbours one or two times, Midoriya made all the food for them, Todoroki bought all the groceries.

Talking was also a thing, obviously. Todoroki told Midroiya about the "Bakusquad" and how he isn't really a part of it anymore, because he likes to spend more time with him than them.

Midoriya told him more about his childhood. Bullying, struggles, Uraraka and Iida.

Todoroki also said one or two things about his childhood. There wasn't much, he grew up rich with no problems, except his dad  he was an abusive asshole, and his mom who was just not there.

They also shared stories about what kind of dumb or crazy stuff happened to them before they met.

Todoroki speculated, once again, how Midoriya was so ripped. No seriously, this dude never works out. He said it himself, he doesn't. This was a universe wonder.

Midoriya mention their first encounter. Todoroki the second; he told him about how that felt like a fanfiction moment, when Midoriya knew that he was "the popular rich gay student".

"What are you going to do after College?" Midoriya asks.

They both decided to chill on the balcony. They lied down next to each other, feet up on the railing, gaze up to the sky.

"Well the original plan was to go after my dad's steps, but I don't think that's gonna happen anymore"

"Why?"

They both fidget their feet like either toddlers, or hopeless romantics.

"First of all, I hate my dad" they both chuckle for a second "And second of all, if I go after his steps, get the job this and that, I wouldn't be able to see you and that is the last thing that I'd want to happen. I don't want it to happen at all actually"

Midoriya smiles hearing the last sentence "I'm glad"

Todoroki could have everything. He was born into a rich family, which isn't a surprise by now. He grew up with no worries whatsoever. He could be a doctor after college, engineer, boss of an company, model if he wanted to. There is nothing he couldn't get with the money he had.

Yet he chooses to stay by Midoriyas side, and nothing makes the short boy happier than this fact.

"What about you?"

Midoriya groans and stretches his arms "Honestly, I didn't think that the last semester would come" he was thinking back to all the struggles he went through "At first I didn't even think I'd finish high school. Then while studying here, I thought something would come in between it. It just seems unreal"

They lie there for a while, saying nothing, listening to the neighbours talk. One women scream over to her husband to help her get the groceries out of the car. An old lady was scolding kids who were running away from the place after spray-paintng something on the wall. Two girls who came back from a date and we're planning the next one. And high schoolers coming back from school, talking about their big plans for the future.

"But talking from a healthy, not so sad, version" Midoriya continues "I think if I wasn't so fucked up back then, my dream would be to help others?" He looks over to Todoroki "Oh god that sounds so cliche" he covers his face with his hands for a second

Todoroki laughs slightly at his embarrassment but they soon calm down.

"It would be your dream? What about now?"

They both look up at the sky again "Now" he takes a moment to think and then rolls over to Todoroki face him "Well I'd like to travel for some time and I hope to have you by my side" he smiles at him with a big smile on his face

Todoroki also turns to Midoriya and takes his hand in his "I'd love to" and kisses the back of Midoriyas hand

"But without your families money, that would be boring" Midoriya adds

"It's like you and your mother are the same person" he says and remembers Inko telling him about her runaway with her friends.

Midoriya turn back, so he's lying on his back again but his hand still in Todoroki's "And after we come back we will open some kind of shop and get an apartment right above it and get a cat or a dog"

Something like this was for both of them the first time. Seeing the other person in their future, expecting them to be there and sharing their plans.

And it didn't just feel like plans, it was a promise that would hopefully last.

"What kind of shop do you want to open?" Todoroki was still lying on his side and admiring his boyfriend.

"How about something really cliche? Then we'll be the cliche couple in the neighbourhood, matching a cliche shop. Oh how about a coffee shop?" He was spilling his words out to the sky "We solved a lot of things in our local coffee shop, we had our study date there, got our coffee everyday there, had conflicts there and solved them again" his face dropped all of a sudden a little and looked at Todoroki "Except you want to do something else?"

He was still smiling at him "No, sounds perfect"

"Really?"

"Yeah if I get to pick the name for our pet"

"Nuh uh that's not fair!"

"It's alright, we still have time" they both got silent again but Todoroki broke it with a thought he just had "So we basically went through college for nothing?"

"Well aside from meeting you, probably yes"

Once they got silent again, the problem outside could be heard. A dude whistling an unfamiliar tune while walking from his car to the building. Kids crying on the playground. Someone vacuuming in the apartment above them. Dogs barking at each other. The rustling of keys. Muffled music from another apartment. Someone watering flowers outside.

It was moments like these, that you wouldn't want to end. You'd be fine, if the world would just stop or even end at this moment.

It wasn't like they accomplished everything they wanted already. Aside from the plans they just made, there were little things that they'd want to finish, accomplish. Goals that maybe would never be reached.

"Where do you want to travel first?"

"Europe. Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, England. But I think everywhere would be fine as long as you're there"

"I promise"

Midoriya smiles while still looking up"I love you"

Midoriya was the first one to make Todoroki so soft, so caring for someone, lose his interest for popularity and money. Maybe not the first one to make happy, but for sure experience love like this.

Todoroki heart skipped a beat "I love you too" he said while smiling at him

So eventually Inko and Toshinori came back. Midoriya and Todorokis break ended and they had classes again.

It wasn't easier, it probably even never was. But they got through it.

Iida came back from whatever hole he disappeared. Eventually told Uraraka that he liked her. Them staring something new.

Uraraka had lots of time for herself. After Iida came back, she had it eases with him on her side.

There were still hearts to heal and love to grow, but they will get there.

Bakugou, Kirishima and Kaminari still went out. They became official. Kaminari was over Shinsou and happy with the other two. Just like the other two were happy with him.

Hagakure and Mina also started to get closer. Momo and Jirou, being the only functional gays around, helped them at the beginning to sort their feelings out.

Shigaraki was still doing some illegal underground stuff. Dabi was still clinging to him. Who would've thought that Shigaraki would try it again with him. It wasn't going smooth at the beginning, but after some talks and opening up about trauma, it got better.

Aizawa as tired as ever. But despite that, he helped a lot of students on deciding on what to do after college. He has been doing that for years. He talks and works with students for years, at some point he will know little bit enough about them to help.

Students sending their job applications to companies, maybe opening their own shop, being self-employed. Work with friends, family. Taking someone's business over.

Friends splitting. Friends moving in together. Getting to know new people. Meeting old friends.

Inko and Toshinori were helping to get Midoriyas stiff out of the dorm.

Todoroki took all his important and personal stuff out of his dad house. Finally leaving that place similar to hell. Cutting all contact with his dad, but apologizing to his siblings. Not one child in that family wanted to live and keep on living in that abusive place. They all moved on, just like their brother once a long time ago.

Midoriya and Todoroki didn't waste much time. They got part-time jobs after finishing their last semester. Saved up all the money while living in Midoriyas old bedroom.

Inko and Toshinori didn't mind. But the two idiots still felt like a nuisance while staying there.

But while working, saving up the money and not making any effort and look for their own apartment, they planned their trip to different countries. Maybe they'll get a camper van before staring their trip.

They didn't spend a lot of time in Inkos home. They didn't want to intrude too much of their privacy. They aren't kids anymore, they know that adults also want some alone time.

It's not like they're only gone during the day, they spend nights out too. Not necessarily at clubs, bars or whatever. Sometimes it's just really long walks, or visiting friends.

It's also not like they just worked, slept and ate all the time. They already made small trips. Not to a different country, but a different city, at some point to the ocean even. Also not just once, they had their favorite places to go to.

And as much as they sound like an old couple, they still did irrational stiff at times, maybe something cliche.

Running away from the police after trespassing or doing something illegal. Smoking weed sometimes with friends, sometimes strangers, sometimes alone.

Going to the arcade, playing games from the good old early 2000s.

Going thrifting with the whole squad, if you still can call it like that. The girls putting on silly and fancy stuff, pretending like it's a show. The boys putting on baggy clothes, pretending to be rappers from the 80s.

Getting matching tattoos and just the ones they like.

The money coming and going.

But at some point, they quit their jobs, got the camping van, got all their stuff necessary for the trip and disappeared.

Inko and Toshinori didn't worry. They new about the plans and the two weren't kids for a long time already.

Friends found out some time later.

There were complications every now and then, but nothing that could stop them.

The visited new places, saw new things, met new people, got new experiences.

Festivals, bars, bookshops, souvenir shops,  theaters, street artists, street competitions, street games, coffee shops, travelers, castles, statues, mountains, oceans, beaches, new food, new sports, new experiences, new tastes, new places, new feelings, nights out, running away from police, concerts big and small, different languages, romantic and goofy dances, wild and soft sex, protecting each other, get in trouble, swimming in the ocean, doing the silly tourist activities, learning new tradition, sleeping the whole day, getting drunk with stranger and alone, getting high with strangers and alone. Everything.

There were days where they'd be busy all day, but there were also days where they didn't do anything at all.

They did and saw new things. They felt great, free maybe. Always complete as long as the other was besides them.

One city they visited for a day maybe even a couple of hours. One city they stayed in for a week or two. Maybe they left and came back at some point.

Met new people but never stayed in contact.

They spend nights in the city, mountains, someone else's apartment, awake, at the beach, illegal places.

But just like everything starts, it ends at some point. After more than a couple of years they came back.

It's like nothing changed at home, everyone just got a little older. Catching up with friend and family also happened at some point.

Inko and Toshinori helped them to get a stable life there. Helped searching for jobs, apartments, whatnot. It wasn't really necessary but an act of care.

Part-time jobs were a thing again. They lived in their camping van at first. After getting enough money got a cheap apartment and got used to live a simple life.

Them full-time jobs became a thing for them, until they had again enough money.

They got a little shop and moved to the apartment right above it.

They got a cat at some point and they got to the topic of the name for her. Strangely enough they didn't forget the conversation from so many years ago about who gets to choose the name.

"I'll chose!"

"What no, I want to name her!"

"We both can just decide on one name!"

"Okay!"

"Okay!"

"Fine!"

"Yes!"

Silence.

"Noodle?"

"It suits her. Noodle it is"

They opened a cafe, just like they once planned.

They had their downs. They didn't have a perfect life. They fought too. Sometimes there were big fights, sometimes it was just something small.

At some point they had little problems with money, but it was alright after some time.

They also got to go to weddings of their friends. After all those years they still had a strong connection.

They all met every once in a while, at a bar, club, or even Midoriyas and Todoroki's cliche cafe.

When you block out every negative thing they went through, their life maybe actually considered cliche.

But that's what they always do, right? Block out the bad things so it will seem as perfect as possible. Even so, they all forget the bad things until they get in a bad situation and they need something to compare the bad moment to.

"Can you close the shop today? I need to get something done" Todoroki asked while getting ready with Midoriya for the day

"Sure. What are you gonna do?"

"It's a secret" he smiles

Midoriya groans "You've been so distant the past week" he comes from behind and hugs him "What're you hiding Shoto?"

Todoroki turns around and hugs him back "You'll find out today once you close the cafe, I promise"

Midoriya nods and they got back to getting ready.

While Todoroki went down to prepare everything before opening, Midoriya fed Noodle and after also came down.

They worked as usual, the other workers came in when their shift started, usual costumers came in to get their usual order.

The cafe wasn't small, it was quite big and also well known, so it was enough to make a living out of it.

At some point Todoroki was gone.

Hours went by, costumers came and left. And in the evening Midoriya and another worker closed the cafe. They said their usual goodbyes and he went up home.

Before he could even take off his shoes, Todoroki was standing there in somewhat fancy, but not too much, clothes and open arms "Eh welcome home?"

"Okay what is going on?" He took of his shoes and followed Todoroki in the weird are between kitchen and living room, there wasn't a door to separate the two rooms.

"I made us fancy dinner" he pointed at the dinner table

Midoriya smiles "Mhm remember when you wanted to cook spaghetti without water, back then in College?" He sat down and Todoroki on the other end of the table

"Okay let's not bring up my embarrassing days" he laughs

They ate fancy dinner and drank expensive wine. There was quietly playing music in the background. And candles lit on the table.

"I know we agreed that something like marriage and rings aren't necessary" he started. It was true, they already know that they love and trust each other, marriage and kids is something they don't want "And honestly I still agree with that" he takes out a small blue box "But I thought a little cliche thing would be nice" he stands up and walks over to Midoriya and gets down on one knee "Izuku unknown you're mine to the end of days and I'm yours to the end of our days, but I wanted something for others to see. That you're already someones"

He opened the small box and two identical rings were there. Nothing too fancy, they both were simple people.

Two identical silver rings.

"I thought I was supposed to be the cliche one in the relationship" Midoriya laughs

"Do you accept It?" Todoroki asks nervously

"Of course" he holds out his left hand and Todoroki puts the ring on his ring finger, Midoriya does the same for Todoroki.

"I love you Izuku"

"I love you too Shoto" he smiles at him and kisses him softly on the lips. Noodle shows up and meows at them. Midoriya takes her in his arms "And I also love you Noodles"

They don't know what else to expect from life. They have everything they need. Everything is perfect.

Sure up and downs are always there, but it's all good in the end.

How it ended for the both of them? Well obviously they were happy.

That's what people say at the end of stories. They don't always mention how they get old and die together. But dead isn't all that happy so this is maybe why it's not always mentioned.

Even so, saying what happens to them after this is not much relevant.

It's pretty much clear that everything is okay. A good balance between "not always perfect" and "good".

It is okay. Perfectly okay.

The End
