Worst day ever
"I look stupid." I call over the bathroom door.
I can practically hear Freya rolling her eyes. "Just come out, I'm sure you look fine."
I sigh and step out.
Freya instantly bursts out laughing. "On second thoughts, you look terrible."
I glare at her. "Gee thanks, love you too."
"And don't you forget it." She says with a smirk.
I roll my eyes and look at myself in the mirror.
Currently I am wearing Freya's emergancy gym shorts. Meaning, never worn, never washed, and way too big since she got given them by her older brother. Pair them off with my favourite grey shirt and you get a hobo.
Lucky me.
Freya's strawberry blonde hair is currently hanging in waves down her back, looking stark against her black jumper with the white letters:
My little black sweat
printed on the front in bold writing. She wears this with navy skinny jeans and black biker boots.
Standing up against her is like honey boo boo's mama against a super model.
Why do all of my friends have to look like models?! Then there's me, dirt stain Tegan!
I haven't seen Brecken since the incident. Not that I thought I would considering he's in the year above. I had maths after Spanish which was just great since I forgot my homework and have to go to catch up this lunch. It's not like me to forget to do my homework, especially math since my teacher is a demon I swear.
I blame Kieran for being such a pain and having his annoying friends around until ungodly hours. Yes, I'll blame him.
"I don't want to go out there." I say, finally turning away from the mirror. To make matters worse, I decided to take off my beanie, revealing my bird nest hair. The gods really aren't in my favour today.
Freya rolls her eyes. "Stop being so dramatic."
"I'm taking drama for GCSE, I'm allowed to be." I mumble, crossing my arms over my chest. I had been livid to discover the dirt marks in my leggings wouldn't come out. They were my favourite pair as well! Oh well, who needs leggings when you have sexy man shorts?
Sigh.
Freya pushes me out of the door, mumbling under her breath how she isn't in the mood for this today.
That makes two of us babe!
It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I was expecting dropped jaws and stares, maybe some music for effect. But only few payed attention.
Oh right, I forgot I'm basically invisible in this school. Whose Tegan again?
Freya and I walk to our next lesson which just happens to be English. Good, at least I can hide at the back of the room like usual and sneak a book under the table.
My dreams of finishing the next chapter of the novel I am currently reading evaporate when I see the big sign of the door making not just me, but all my classmates crowded in the hallway groan.
EXAM
"Year elevens," Miss Parsins says walking down the hall. "You have a practise test on everything we have learnt so far this term. I expect the use of technical terms in your work and quotes from the novel. The exam will last just over an hour, going into your fourth lesson slightly."
Seriously?! My next lesson is drama, the only one I actually look forwards to.
I follow after Freya as the students in my class begin filling in, only to be stopped by the long stretched out arm belonging to Miss Parsin. "Not you, Tegan. You will be taking your exam in the library."
"What? Why?" I demand. Freya stops in the doorway, her eyebrows rose to her hairline. I nod for her to go on.
"I've noticed you have been lacking in your work lately." Miss Parsins says. "Don't give me that look, these things don't go unnoticed, Tegan. I know you have the potential and don't want to move you down to set two. I have arranged that you have some help from some students in the year above who have taken English as an a-level. They will be waiting for you in the library."
I scowl down at the floor. It's true, I have been slacking lately. I don't know, I used to love English, but something changed and I just don't care for it much anymore. I must admit, I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner.
"Okay." I grumble, beginning to make my way across to the other side of school.
"Oh and Tegan," Miss Parsins calls and I turn. "Don't scowl, it makes you look constipated."
I scoff. Did she really just say that?! I turn back around and march off angrily.
Worst. Day. Ever
