Chapter 15

The following morning a very desperate Jane goes into her office, locking the door when he gets in.

"Jane?"

He cups her face and kisses her hard before letting her go.

"You're wrong Teresa. I need you to save me, I can't save myself."

"But-"

"Please!"

His desperate plea silences her.

"You are the world to me and I know I don't deserve you but I love you!"

He kisses her again but more softly.

"Don't leave me. Please don't leave me."

She gently pushes him away.

"You treated me like I was second best."

"That won't happen anymore."

"What?"

Jane gives her a sad smile.

"I did it Teresa. He's gone now."

Lisbon's eyes get wide and she has to look away, trying her best not to cry and process this. Has her friend turned into a killer?

"Where is he?"

Her voice is barely audible and for a moment there's just silence.

"In your house. I was worried and I thought you were there, I saw him killing a woman just like you so I shot him. I've left everything just the way it is though."

There's a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

"So it was self-defense?"

He places a light kiss on her forehead.

"Yes. Can we get back to our previous topic?"

She stands up and gets close to him, her lips just a breath away from his.

"Actions speak louder then words."

Lisbon closes the gap and kisses him fervently, he returns the favor with more passion and holds her closer; his hand in her soft hair and the other wrapped around her tiny waist. She opens and lets his tongue in, the both of them exploring each other.

They break away to breathe before he starts to kiss her softly.

"Thank you for everything you've done for me."

Lisbon kisses him back.

"You're welcome."
