"Mummy where are they now?" David asks for what I suppose to be the tenth time within the space of five minutes.

"Look David, if you ask me that question one more time ehn...ihem ga-eme gi(what I will do to you) you will wonder if I was the one that gave birth to you" Mum threatens calmly. I looked up at David's terrified face and let out a laugh. As if on cue we hear dad's car honking outside.

"Finally" the little boy yells running outside to open the gate. Mum had told us after we had dinner that dad was going to pick our cousins from the airport. We had dinner three hours ago and it was obvious how impatient the tiny one was getting. I followed suit running out to help bring in luggage and stuff.

The car was just entering the compound so I stood and waited for Dad to park well. Immediately the car was parked, I raced to the door and struggled to open it. When the door finally opened I was blessed with the sight of my beautiful cousins fast asleep. It must have been quite a journey.  Nonso looked so innocent with Naza's sweet locks scattered on his laps. His phone was just beside him and Naza's things were all over the place. From her shoes to her face cap to her tiny bracelets. How sweet. They looked really tired though. Hmm.
"Wake up!!" I yell close enough to their ears. Just as I expected, they jerk up screaming and looking as confused as ever. I burst out laughing my heart out. That was a fucking good one. I wish I got it on video. I turn around to see David and my dad laughing hysterically along with me.

"Sick people "Nonso mutters with obvious humor while he drags Naza, who is still busy rubbing sleep from her eyes, out. I help him carry her out marvelling at how soft she was."I missed you baby" I coo at her.
"I missed you too" she drawls and pecks me on my cheek. Aww she's so cute. I missed her cuteness.
"Shift abeg. Carry that bag when you're coming inside." The foolish goat,AKA, Nonso says pushing us out of the way and interrupting our moment.

"I'm not carrying that bag o. Better come and carry it yourself." I call out to his retreating figure. I know I came out with the intention of helping them carry stuff in but what's the fun without a little banter.

"Ehn wait for me there now" he says turning back only a little. He had David beside him following him like a puppy and gushing about only God knows what.

I carried Naza in and was able to enjoy a show of mum hugging and planting multiple kisses on Nonso's face and the never ending comments on how much he had grown within the past months. He looked so embarrassed.It was an interesting view.

No thanks to mum, I ended up carrying the bag and other bags in, much to Nonso's amusement.

Naza was already asleep my room. Her greedy brother managed to convince my mum that he have the entire guest room to himself.

"Amy" I hear mum call from the kitchen.

"Yes mummy" I answer as soon I see her. She's sitted with Dad who I guess just finished having his dinner.
"Go to Nonso's room, you'll see David there. Tell him to leave Nonso so he can prepare for school tomorrow."
"Oh ok . Is it Ivory Gates?"
"Before nko? Is it not Ivory Gates he was going to?"
"Oh ok I'll tell him"

Before Nonso relocated to Abuja, he attended Ivory Gates here in Lagos. He was really popular and was even good friends with Philips demdem. He left towards the end of last year and people kept asking me...
"Amaka what of your cousin"
"Amaka where did nonso go?"
Amaka this, Amaka that.
He's back now. They'd be very happy to see him.

Barging into the room I see David and nonso watching something on a tablet.

"Oya o David go to your room. Mummy said you should leave him so he'll get ready for school tomorrow."

"Which school? I thought all schools were resuming next week?" Nonso asks genuinely confused.

"Next week? You've forgotten that your school has were (madness)abi?" I ask  him chuckling.

He just groans while David makes his way out with the tablet.

I go up to my room and get ready for bed. Today was so damn long ...ughhh.
I can only wait and see how tomorrow will be. I go deep into sleepville just as my head hit the pillow.
