#29
*walks in shyly.
Hey...guys😂. You all probably hate me but I swear I can explain. Apart from the fact that writer's block is a Bastard, I've been very distracted these past weeks. But I'm back now. I'd try to make my updates more frequent. Oh and I tried to put a little more effort into this chapter so I hope you like it❤️

Philips' Pov
"Bea! Hold on a second." I call out, jogging after Beatrice.
She stops at once before turning to me.
"Hey boo." She says with a smile. "What's up?"
"I tried calling you yesterday but your number wasn't going through." I say to her, scratching my head a little.
"Oh, I was- I couldn't charge my phone throughout yesterday." She stutters.
I scoff. "There's no need to lie to me, Bea. Your house has twenty-four/seven power supply."
"See, Philips, time is going. The hostel mistress is probably waiting for me upstairs." She makes to walk off but I stop her.
"Hey, calm down." I hold her by her arm, pulling her completely against me. "Calm down." I whisper in her ear knowing full well the effect I'm going to have on her.
"Phil." She whispers as well. "A teacher might see us."
"Ehn, then let them see."
"Philips..." She trails off.
"Okay, let's go to an empty class. I just want to talk to you."
She stares at me for a second before glancing around and sighing. "Fine, let's go." She drops her bags at a corner and starts to lead the way.
A smirk forms on my face as I follow behind her.
She stops suddenly. "We're only going to talk."
I smile while internally scoffing. "Yeah, sure."
We enter an empty class and Beatrice settles on a desk.
"Oya, what do you want?" She asks.
"Ahan." I chuckle a little. "Are we fighting?"
"Philips, what do you want?" She asks with all seriousness.
"Nothing much." I shrug innocently, walking over to her.
I catch a smile form on her face. "What is 'nothing much'? Talk joor."
I keep walking until I'm completely in between her legs. "I missed you."
Lie. My subconscious screams.
The smile she had been hiding suddenly comes into full display. "You did? OMG, I actually also missed you." She squeals out and I resist the urge to scrunch up my face.
"Then why didn't you pick my calls?" I ask.
I notice her face fall at that. "I've not been in a very good place these past few days so...yeah. I didn't want to talk to anybody."
The sadness dripping from her voice makes me want to ask her what's wrong but I shake it off. That's not why we're here. That's not why I'm here.
"Sorry about that babe. You'll be fine."
"You think?" She asks like my answer is the last hope she has.
"I know you'll be fine." She smiles hard at my reply and I mentally pat my back.
Smooth.
"So, do you want to tell me how much you missed me?" I ask, holding her hands in mine.
She giggles. "I missed you a lot."
"Really?" I ask tracing her chin with my thumb.
She squints her eyes at me shyly. "Yeah, really."
I bite my lower lip, slowly going in for a kiss.
She responds immediately as expected, throwing her hands over my neck.
I kiss her soft lips, hoping her strawberry lip gloss helps me get my head together.
My hands somehow find their way underneath her skirt, moving themselves all over her naked thighs.
"It's okay Philips, we're in school. Stop." She mumbles against my lips, not for once trying to pull away.
"Shh, stop talking." I lift her by her a*s off the desk, kissing her all the way.
She's now standing and I'm about to sit when my eyes catch someone standing at the classroom's entrance.
"What the fuck?" I yell out startled before pushing myself off of Beatrice.
Amaka and Sam are standing at the class' entrance with different expressions on their faces. While Amaka looks everything from confused, embarrassed to shocked, Sam looks completely amused.
I turn to see Beatrice looking away from the rest of us with one hand on her waist and the other over her face. She turns slowly to face us. "Oh it's even you guys. I was scared." She sighs before laughing.
Amaka clears her throat. "Sorry, excuse me." She backs out of the class.
"I'm going to meet the hostel mistress." Beatrice says, leaving the class as well.
It's now Sam and I alone.
"Bro."
"Hmm?"
"Bro."
"What?"
"Bro." Sam says again and I glare at him, not responding.
"What were you doing?" He finally asks.
I snicker. "Frying beans. What did it look like I was doing?"
He rolls his eyes. "You were making out with Beatrice"
"Yeah and so?" I ask, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Why?"
"Why not?" I ask with a chuckle.
"Guy be serious." He marches over to me all traces of his former amused expression gone. "You don't even like her."
I scoff, settling on a desk.
"I like her." I utter reluctantly. Sam laughs at that.
"You can't even say that without sounding like you have agbo jedi in your mouth."
(Agbo jedi: a really bitter medicine.)
I huff while contemplating telling him what's up. Realizing I don't even know how I'd tell him, I hiss. "You'll not understand."
"Test me first. Is this about Janet, your aunt."
At the mention of her name, my shoulder tenses.
"Of course, I should've guessed. What did she do?" He asks with concern.
I stand abruptly, surprising Sam.
"She didn't do anything. Okay she did something but I don't know how to explain."
"Just explain it anyhow. Did you guys-" He trails off.
"No, we didn't do anything." I reply immediately after understanding where he was going. "Not yet at least." I add to myself but he obviously hears.
"Philips..."
"She's just always everywhere. She's always acting all seductive and touchy and Sam- I don't know if she does it intentionally but everytime she's around she just makes me feel..."
"Feel?"
"Feel hard okay? She makes me hard and I feel so disgusted by myself. But I can't help it Sam."
He seems a little taken aback but he's quick to compose himself.
"I know she's my aunt and she took advantage of me but I can't help it. I keep remembering all the times we did stuff together and-" I sigh not having it in me to continue.
"And you were trying to use Beatrice to cool off?" He asks. I turn away from him, looking out the classroom's window.
"You really shouldn't be going through all this, Phil. You should tell your dad."
"I've tried. I can't bring myself to do it."
He pats me on my shoulder as a form of consolation. Well, that's all I'd ever get–consolation.

Nonso's Pov
I rub my temples as I wait outside the Principal's office for the girls to come out.
"Young man, what are you still doing in school?" A middle aged man says shaking me up a little.
I didn't know there were other people around here.
His well built frame doesn't seem familiar to me. He's probably new here.
"I'm waiting for my...friends to come out. They're in the Principal's office."
He glances at the closed door to the Principal's office.
"I don't want to meet you here when I return downstairs." He walks up a staircase and I roll my eyes at his command.
The door opens and I make out the booming voice of the Principal.
"Let this be the last time you'd be sent to my office." He yells out, sending chills down my spine.
He's still as scary as I remember.
"Yes sir." I hear the girls mumble. Ore is the first to come out and then Joy.
"Hey. What happened?" I ask, advancing towards them.
Ore hisses, walking off without sparing me glance. Well, ouch.
I contemplate running after her but I remember Joy and stop in my tracks. When I turn to her, she's already staring at me.
"Aren't you going to run after your girlfriend?" She taunts.
"Ore's not my girlfriend."
She rolls her eyes. "Sure, whatever."
She walks out of the block like Ore but this time I run after her.
"Wait. Joy, wait." I call out.
She surprises me by actually stopping. "What do you want?"
"I need you to answer a question honestly."
She sighs. "Which is?"
"What's your problem?" I ask the question that I've been wanting to ask since she slapped me in JSS2 for no reason.
"As in? I don't get."
"Why are you always so aggressive towards me? Why were you picking on Ore?"
She surprises me again by cackling. Yes, cackling. Like an actual witch. How do I like this girl again?
Oh yeah, she's pretty, smart, curvy. She has a nice smile, she's curvy-
"See if you like the girl, just tell her and stop using her name to disturb my life. Ore this one, Ore that one. Excuse me, please." Joy says, interrupting my thoughts.
She makes to leave but I stop her while trying to ignore the goosebumps I feel at the contact.
"Chill, I didn't even say anything about Ore. I only asked you a question and for the last time I don't like her."
I like you.
"Okay. Can I go now?"
"You haven't answered my question. What's your problem?"
"I don't have a problem."
"You do. What's your problem with me?" I ask as I feel a lump form in my throat. Thinking about it, it really hurts when the girl you like despises you for no reason at all.
"You're always so mean to me and I want to know why."
"You're mean to me too so stop acting like one victim." She says and I release a mirthless laugh.
"I'm not mean to you. I only react. You're the one that hates me for no reason."
She scoffs."I don't hate you. That's like the opposite of what I feel."
My eyebrow twitches in confusion. "What do you mean by that?"
Her eyes widen as if realizing what she just said.
"Mean by-mean by what?" She stutters, turning away.
"You said hate is like the opposite of what you feel. What do you mean by that?"
"That's not what I said. I mean that's what I said but you're misinterpreting." She says, sounding and acting jittery.
A smirk finds it way to my face. "I haven't even interpreted anything."
"See, Nonso, I don't like you if that's what you're thinking."
My smirk turns into a full on laughter. "And why would you think that's what I'm thinking?"
"Okay, whatever. I'm going home." She starts to walk off again but I hold her back.
"Chill nau." I notice goosebumps similar to the ones all over me on her arm– where I'm holding her.
My heart does a flip. If I didn't know better, I'd say she actually does feel something for me. But I do know better and I know she hates me. Unless...
"Do you like me?"
She releases a short nervous laugh. "You're crazy. I told you I don't."
"Really, you don't?" I ask, drawing closer to her.
I'm now really close to her. So close that I'd only have to bend to kiss her.
Her lashes flutter as she looks up at me through them.
"I don't." She says but I can detect the hesitation.
"You like me." I now state, daring her to deny one more time. She sighs.
She likes me.
I let my emotions take over as I pull her in for a hug. I hug her tight and she doesn't even resist. She hugs me back, fully confirming my thoughts. She likes me.
"What is going on there? The both of you. What rubbish? On your knees now!" The familiar commanding tone from earlier yells out, jolting me from my emotional state.
Joy and I let go of each other at once to face the hardened eyes of the new guy.
Shit. Shit. Shit.

A/n
I'm confused o. Why is the guy vexing? Is it because of ordinary hug😂 what if he nau saw what Philips and Beatrice were doing?😂
Speaking of which, what do you think about the situation Philips is in?
Like a favourite author of mine would say, don't forget to Cote and Vomment lol.
See you in the next chapter!
