Stephen's in the media🤩
•••
Time went by real quick today and it was already break time. Hurray. I was starving.
"Are you going to be at the party?"
Huh?
I turn my head to the side to face Samuel who was busy reading a book.
I could've sworn he just said something.
"Did you say something?" I ask him to be sure.
"I asked if you were going to be at the party?" Oh.
"Which party? Is it that Beatrice's own?"
"No o." He says rolling his eyes and hissing. Rude.
Why is this guy even talking to me? He's always so rude and annoying.
"Are you going?" He asks again making it seem like the conversation was draining him.
"Guy if I'm going, how is it now your business?" I ask hissing and leaving the rude idiot. Iya Kemi is cooking jollof rice today and I'm hungry. I cannot come and be wasting energy on one rubbish person.
Even Eniola and Joy left for break without me because of him.
I was pissed and about going down the stairs when I saw Philips at the bottom of the stairs. Great.
"See come and help me with something." He says from where he stood. I looked around for who he was talking to. There were couples of other students going up and down the stairs but it didn't seem like he was referring to any of them. He was talking to me.
Ugh no.
"Who? Me?" I ask stupidly.
"Yes. You. Help me call Samuel from the class. Tell him I'm already at the tuck shop and that I'm waiting for him." He says simply.
Blink
Double blink
Triple bl-
"Wait is this one mad? It's like you're mad o. You and that Samuel boy. It's like both of you are mad. Who is your servant first? Are you okay at all? Don't you know where to find juniors to send up and down? What is all this rubbish?" I screamed all at once before I could help myself.
Fuck.
And this is why anger and hunger is a terrible mix.
Philips stood there visibly shocked at my out burst and so did a few other passersby.
I was too hungry to chastise myself so I just hissed and push my way through to the cafeteria.

I wasn't able to finish my jollof rice, which was extremely delicious by the way, since two special idiots God decided to bless me with today made me waste more than half of my break time.
I was even angrier than I was before break time and I feared an innocent person would behold my wrath.
"Place your Othello and Exam Focus books on your tables now." The literature teacher commands while the whole class hurry to do his bidding.
"If you do not have your books, get on your knees now." he commands again after noticing some were yet to provide theirs.
I had the slim and orange book with Othello written in bold on my table and the huge, green Exam Focus textbook right beside it. It used to be a struggle taking it home and bringing it to school every time we had Literature until I decided to just leave it permanently in my locker.
"Young man is there something wrong with your hearing?" he asks omitting the h and pronouncing it as earing. Typical Yoruba man.
I stretch my neck a little to check who the "young man" was. Oh Nonso. Hehe.
"Sir let me explain-" Nonso starts, standing up comically. Everything is play to this boy.
"Shut your mouth and get on your knees." The frail looking man yells at him.
Uh oh.
All traces of the smile Nonso once had were now replaced by that of anger.
"Don't fucking yell at me." Ghen Ghen.
Nobody yelled at Nonso. Everybody knew that. It never ended well. This man wouldn't know this though since he came in when Nonso left.
"What did you say to me this boy?" The teacher asks yelling even more, going closer to Nonso maybe trying to intimidate him. He ends up looking stupid though since compared to Nonso who had a well built body and was at least 6"5, he was a thin man with at most 5"7.
"Sir, I said don't fucking yell at me" he growls, slamming his fists on the table.
Someone please pass me some pop corn.
The whole class went still anticipating what was going to happen next.
"Leave my class" Mr literature says calmly this time.
Nonso hesitates for a while but eventually makes his way out.
"Get out, you this idiot." He says loudly pushing him out. This man likes trouble sha.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Nonso shouts turning around abruptly causing our troublemaker to stumble. "Can't you see me going? Why are you pushing me?"
"If you say one more thing I'll give you a dirty slap."
As if this statement brings the class back to reality, Philips and Steve rush from their seats. They immediately go in between the two angry people preventing them from going more physical on each other. Show spoilers.
This exchange attracts up to five amebo teachers plus Mr Waheed, the VP.
"What exactly is going on here?" Waheed asks authoritatively. This one has come now.
"Can you imagine. This silly thing-" Trouble maker guy starts but is immediately cut off.
"Please sir, we do not allow insults in our school." VP says. "What did you do to get Nonso upset?" He asks, holding Nonso by the shoulder in attempt to calm him down. I can't help laughing. This man is funny. Of course, the school board is on Nonso's side. Why would I think otherwise?
Nonso is a model student. Just like the rest of his gang, Philips and the rest. Teachers love them. They are respectful, intelligent and very diligent.
The literature teacher looked at loss for words.
"I can't believe this." He finally made out, walking away with the dignity he had left. Oop-
I'll be honest. I feel that situation could have been handled better but I guess such is life. Nonso was given an after school punishment and classes went on.
The closing bell rang finally and I immediately headed home. Nonso will find his way.
Today did not turn out half as I expected but oh well.
