Summer Rain Storm Part 2-
BdoubleO POV-
My nose is running and probably bright red. My eyes are watering and I've seriously got the chills. Tissues are piled up around me as I huddle under my covers.
It's been three days since Ren and I got together. Doc was confused when I returned to the half mansion from my late-night outing late the next day. But he didn't confront me, nor did he see the trail of bruises down my neck since I kept them covered with my jacket. I'm not quite ready to share my relationship yet.
... Bzzzz ... Bzzzz ...
I pick up my communicator to Ren texting me a good afternoon and a check-up into how I was doing. He felt bad for getting me sick but I didn't care. I'd do it 100 more times for him.
I quickly reply with a 'been better. I could use some soup' when I hear a knock on my door.
After a moment, a muffled voice calls through the door, "Hey Bdubs. It's Doc and Keralis. We haven't seen you in a couple days and we're getting worried."
I sigh, knowing that they won't leave me alone so I call them in, my voice hoarse. As I hear the door open and close I bring the covers up to hide the now green and yellow marks on my neck.
I lightly trace a finger alone the swollen areas, remember the rain storm, as Keralis walked into my room, followed by a worried Doc. Keralis rushed over to my bed side, and began cleaning up my mess of tissues and soup bowls without even questioning it. Doc just stood awkwardly to the side, giving me unreadable glances.
"Oh, sweet face," Keralis was hovering over me now, placing a hand on my forehead, "You're burning up. I'll be back with some cool towels." He scampered out my bed room, leaving Doc and I.
"Doc, I didn't think you cared this much. What happened to you being mad about the goat head."
Doc shuffled towards me and sat at the edge of my bed. He looked at me for a few uncomfortable moments before replying, "That's just an act for our videos. You know that right? You're my friend and I care about you B." I blink a couple times at the nickname. Ren called me that but hearing Doc say it was, I don't know, wrong. Doc must have sensed my discomforted as he quickly stood up and returned to his place by the door, his arms folded in such a way that his hands were tucked underneath his shoulders. We stayed like that for a couple agonizing moments (I occasionally blew my nose) until Keralis burst back into the room.
"Doc! Go get some soup started. I'm going to help Bdubs change into some fresh clothes," Keralis turned towards me, his smile as wide as his eyes. I gulped knowing that Keralis would force me to change and I wouldn't be able to hide the hickies.
Doc quickly left the room, clearly relieved, as Keralis walked towards me and laid a cloth on my forehead. It felt so good on my burning skin and I sighed deeper into my pillow. "Don't go getting to comfortable there Bubbles... Once I find a fresh set of PJ's you're getting up."
He busied himself with digging through my closet and dresser until he stood up, triumphantly hold my softest PJ's, a beautiful royal blue, "Oooo Bubbles! These will match your eyes! Now get up." He's voice changed from excited to commanding in the middle of talking and when I sunk deeper into my covers, he rushed over dragging them off, scolding me like a little kid. I instinctively cover my neck and I begin to shiver with the lack of warmth. Keralis immediately notices my unnatural position and drops my covers and fresh PJ's on the floor to sit beside me on the bed.
He reaches to remove my hand covering my neck; I wiggle and squirm away but Keralis places his other hand on my shoulder, "It's okay BdoubleO. I don't know what's really going on but I'm here for you." He continues to gently pull at my hand at my neck. I don't remember the last time he used my name, not bubbles; he is serious. I'm too tired to fight him. I let him move my hand and I just sit there, tears streaming down my face. It's not a bad thing, but I just wanted to keep this between Ren and I.
"Bubbles..." his voice is whispering and soft, "who hurt you?"
I stifle a laugh. He's so innocent he doesn't even know what the bruises are from. I look up at his worried face, and open my mouth to respond when we hear my front door open and a couple footsteps. Keralis turns towards my door, not releasing my hand, listening to the commotion happening in my main room.
"What the heck are you doing here Doc?"
"I could ask you the same thing Ren."
"I'm bringing Bdubs soup."
"Why you of all people?" Doc's voice was layered with some thick emotion that I couldn't distinguish.
"He asked... Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be headed to his room." Ren said coldly.
"No."
"What do you mean no?"
"I'll take the soup to Bdubs."
The arguing continued as Keralis looked over at me., finally putting two and two together. His worried face bloomed into one of excitement, yet disappointment shone in his eyes, as he ran out of room. It didn't take long before Ren and Doc were both being herded into my room. Doc looked furious and Ren just stared at me confused as I shrug in just as much confusion.
Keralis grabs the bowl out of my boyfriend's hand and brings it to me as I shift to sit up in my bed. I take the bowl and spoon as Ren glares at Doc and Doc studies me. I see his eyes linger on my neck then turn to Ren, pain evident in his eyes, as he walks out. I didn't get to process it for very long before Ren was all over me. He almost immediately had a blanket around my shivering shoulders then he began feeding me. I pretty much had to stop him, telling him that I could handle the soup.
Keralis just looked on, a grin on his face, but it never made it to his eyes. "How long have you guys been together?"
Ren turned to Keralis from where he sat beside me, hold my bowl, "About 57 hours!" Keralis' smile tightened at that and he bid us goodbye and followed Doc out of our room.
"What was with Keralis and Doc today B?"
"I don't know darling but what I do know is that I am a sick mess who needs cuddles."
"I don't want to get sick!" Ren exclaimed while throwing his free hand in the air.
"Sure, but who got me sick in the first place?"
"Uh, technically the rain..." he stopped as I glared at him. His ears flattened on the top of his head and he lowered his head, "I did."
I giggle, reaching up to scratch around thesensitive wolf ears, "I'm joking. I was the one who joined you in the rain, notthat I'd change it if I could."
