Information comes with a price, apparently.
My clothes only consisted of a dull tan turtleneck, and lots of holes and scratches on it. My pants were jeans, and my shoes were worn out sneakers. I also had some red and black fuzzy socks that I stole from a lost and found one day. From what I knew of, the socks had been there for MONTHS. I salvaged some money that I got from the change of grocery shopping, and I dry cleaned them. My other pile of clothes that I brought, were a green t-shirt, and red shorts that went to the middle of my thigh. I also had a spare change of undergarments, but nothing else.
With the cold wind blowing against my face, and everywhere where there were holes on my turtleneck, I felt chilled to the bone, but I felt better than a person with shorts and a sweater. My surroundings were tall, leafless trees, and also snow. How snow got in here, I have no clue, but it is not my job to think about it, so I continued on with the path. I saw a big stick ahead of me that was broken, and I wondered how someone could have broken it; it looked too heavy for someone to break with just their feet. I occasionally looked both ways, to check if something were to jump out at me from the woods, but oddly enough, the only sound I heard were the crunch of the snow and the wind blowing.
I neared a bridge with tall bars, and then I felt the presence of someone behind me. I then froze in place, because that was what I was taught to do. If someone was walking towards me, I shouldn't run away; I had to stay obedient. It would be rude to do that. I heard the soft crunching of snow from the person behind me, and I wondered how they got here without notifying me. I heard them stop, and I looked straight ahead.
"H e y a p a l . D o n ' t y o u k n o w h o w t o g r e e t a n e w f r i e n d ?
T u r n a r o u n d a n d s h a k e m y h a n d ."
The voice of this mysterious character behind me, was very deep, and raspy. I turned on my heel to face this mysterious person, and when I met contact with the person's hands, it felt ice cold, and I also felt a shock. This made me shiver.
Then the person started laughing. I got a proper look at their face. I saw a shimmering gold tooth, and also the fur lining of the hoodie they were wearing. I also depicted this character as male, and when I looked at him from top to bottom, I gathered that this person was wearing black and red striped shorts, with black and red shoes, (the shoelaces noticeably untied) and a red turtleneck underneath the black jacket he was wearing. When the person slowly stopped the laughing, I saw one of his pupils. It was the color red, and his other pupil was a faded white, but as time went on, both pupils turned to white.
"Heheheh, the old buzzer in the hand trick. It's always funny." This person grinned with the sharp teeth of his. By now, I had let go of his hand, and he stuffed his in his jacket pockets. "I'm Sans. Sans the Skeleton."
My eyes widened at his name. All this time, I hadn't noticed that he was a skeleton. I started to realize that he was indeed a skeleton. I blinked, and looked over him again, and I smiled at him.
"I'm," I hesitated for a moment. "Y/N." I tested the word on my tongue, and I liked it.
"Y/N huh? Well, that's a nice name." Sans looks off to the side. He looks back at me, this time with a smug grin. "Y'know, I'm supposed to be capturing a human, but I'm too lazy." He winks at me, which I fluster. "Ya see those bars in front of us? My bro made them too wide to stop anybody." He motioned towards the bridge. "Go right on through. I ain't stoppin' anybody." I walked forwards. I heard Sans's footsteps behind me.
We were on the other side. I saw a weird looking lamp, and a station-area with lots of yellow bottles.
"What's that?" I pointed towards the station-area.
"Oh, that?" Sans chuckled. "That's my hotdog stand." I looked at him confused.
"What the heck is a hotdog stand?" Sans looked at me like I had three heads.
"You don't know what a hotdog stand is?!" I shook my head.
"Man! You must have a CRAPPY LIFE to not KNOW what a HOTDOG STAND IS!!" I looked to the ground and frowned.
"Yeah. You're right." I spoke glumly.
"Wait-what?" Sans looked towards me.
"You heard me right. I do have a crappy life. All my life I was treated like a slave. I didn't even have a name at the time." I brushed some snow with my shoe.
"Y'know you didn't have to tell me that you had a crappy life, you know that?" I felt Sans's hand on my shoulder.
"I know. I just felt that I should have said it." I looked over my shoulder to see Sans. "Shouldn't you be capturing a human?"
Sans frowned. "It's not good to just give up like that." Sans's frown turned into a scowl.
"I know, but you are the first person I met down here." This made Sans look very surprised in a scary way. It's as if he was mad, and fearful at something at the same time.
"Frisk." He whispered.
"Frisk?" I questioned. "Who is that?"
Sans turned towards me, then he exhaled, (which I don't know how he does) and he closed his eyes.
"D'you wana hear the long story or the short one?"
"Um, short one, so I won't take up your time." I put my arms behind my back, an effect of me being cooped up in my house all day. I was very shy because of it. I didn't have any social skills until I did what I thought was right in the terms of speaking.
"O-kay.." Sans looked sympathetic for a split second. But then it resolved to that hard scowl.
"*ahem* So there's this thing called the timelines. It's like a time period where you can reset with the power of DETERMINATION. There is a child that has this power of DETERMINATION, and they can choose to do either pacifist, where they don't kill a single soul, and instead show MERCY, or there is Genocide, where they kill every single monster they see." Sans wasn't looking at you when he said this. "Frisk is the child. If they chose Genocide, dust would be everywhere." My eyes widened in alarm.
"D-Dust?!" I started to panic.
"Yeah? What about it?" Sans looked tough on the outside, but I knew that he was really having fear behind his eyes.
"T-there was dust EVERYWHERE in the Purple-brick-area-with-the-crunchy-leaves!" With my panicked voice, it made everything more scary. How I knew? Well, Sans's pupils lost their color and turned to nothing. He then suddenly snatched onto my shoulder, and then I saw myself in a different place in a split second.
"Wha-"
"No time to explain!" Sans yanked me towards a nearby tree. He hid behind it, and I did so too.
I then heard a very loud voice, which I was kind of used to it back at my crappy home, but I never expected it down here. I peeked to see who was the speaker, and I saw a very tall skeleton. I guessed that maybe this guy was the brother that Sans was talking about. This speaker had, some interesting clothes.
It's best if you see it for yourself, but I'll try to describe it.
The speaker has long, black pants with a skull belt, and he has some sort of black chest-plate-armor-thingie. He has a blood-red scarf around his neck. He also looks very angry, which sort of reminds me of my crappy father on a 'Monday.' I saw that, since he's a skeleton, that his scary look with his teeth(?) and his scar, is something that is external. What's internal is what matters.
And believe me, this comes from experience.
"HALT, RIVAL!" I heard the speaker say.
"Who is that?" I turn to my left to see nothing. I whipped my head around to try and find Sans, but he was no where to be seen. I frowned, because I kind of missed his presence. I lightly shake my head out of the thought. I heard the speaker 'talk' again.
"HEY QUIT MOVING WHILE I'M TALKING TO YOU YOU *!" I heard the speaker cuss, but I flinched at it. It brought back memories of my crappy parents saying that to me.
"I THE TERRIBLE PAPYRUS HAVE SOME THINGS TO SAY!" Oh. So the speaker is called 'The terrible Papyrus?' "FIRST, YOU'RE A * WEIRDO! NOT ONLY DO YOU NOT LIKE PUZZLES, BUT THE WAY YOU SHAMBLE ABOUT FROM PLACE TO PLACE, THE WAY YOUR FILTHY HANDS ARE ALWAYS COVERED IN DUSTY POWDER. IT FEELS LIKE... YOUR LIFE IS GOING DOWN A * PATH! HOWEVER, I THE TERRIBLE PAPYRUS, WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO NOT HAVE SUCH A * LIFE LIKE ME. I DO SEE THAT YOU CAN BE A TERRIBLE PERSON LIKE ME IF YOU TRY! AND ME, I HARDLY HAVE TO TRY AT ALL!! NYEHEHEHEHEH!" 'The terrible Papyrus spoke as loud as he could be when he was trying to yell in his weird 'normal voice' of his. "HEY! STOP MOVING! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! RIVAL! I THINK YOU ARE IN NEED OF GUIDANCE! SOMEONE NEEDS TO KEEP YOU ON THE DARK AND BRUTING! BUT WORRY NOT! I, PAPYRUS, WILL GLADLY BE YOUR MASTER AND TEACHER! I WILL TEACH YOU THE WAYS OF OUR LIFE!" I hear footsteps. "I SEE YOU'RE APPROACHING. ARE YOU OFFERING ME A GREAT CHANCE TO START TEACHING YOU? NYEHEHEH! MY MASTERY SKILLS OF DOMINANCE ARE WORKING! I, PAPYRUS, WELCOME YOU TO TAKE THE FIRST SHOT!"
The child's....Heart?, is out in front of them, and it's a dark red. I see them slice at Papyrus, and then Papyrus dodges out of the way.
"NYEHEHEH! DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT YOU COULD JUST KILL ME LIKE-" I hear a cutting sound, and a thump. "W-WELL THAT'S NOT WHAT I HAD EXPECTED... B-BUT! I HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR YOU! THIS, KILLING, IS NOT GOOD FOR A CHILD LIKE YOU. TURN AROUND AND DO THE RIGHT THING! IT WILL BE BETTER IN THE LONG RUN! I-I... PROMISE..."
I no longer hear the speaker. I peek to look where he had gone, when I saw a pile of dust and the red scarf in his spot where he was standing. I looked at it in confusion, and I rubbed my face because I felt something wet. I had tears. I never cry. I heard footsteps move away, and decided to come out when I could no longer hear them ever again. I walked over to the dust pile, and I saw the scarf. I picked it up, and folded it neatly in my hands. I looked around the barren snowed area.
"Sans?" I called softly. "Sans! SANS!!" I started to get louder. I then felt someone watching me, but then I felt something impale into me.
"I thought you were good." I felt blood dripping down my mouth. "I thought I could trust you!" I saw a blurry Sans snatch the scarf out of my hands. "You. Dirty. Brother. Killer." I then felt the wind that the projectiles that were just centimeters away from my head, and I decided to say:
"STOP!" I closed my eyes. More blood dripped out of my mouth as I talked. "I saw Papyrus die, in...the...trees...." I then felt lightheaded and nauseous, then I fell limp.
