Chapter 7- Hiding
"WHY CAN'T WE HIT HIM?!" Bakugo yelled at Todoroki, while sending another blast towards the green haired boy who, like every other damn time, dodged it. The blast was so strong it sent Bakugo sliding backwards slightly.
"I don't know!" Shoto yells back. The two had been fighting the small villain for what seems like forever and they haven't landed a single hit. Izuku would move out of the way and make a sassy remark, only making Bakugo more angry and Todoroki more unfocused. He seemed to be enjoying himself.
"Oh come on, you two can figure it out! I've figured out so many ways you two could work together to hit me. It's a shame that you haven't been able to find a single one yet." He remarked once again.
Todoroki sent a spike of flames towards Midoriya as Bakugo sent an explosion at him form the other way. Izuku merely tucked and rolled letting the fire and explosion collide.
As Izuku stood, todoroki sent an ice patch towards him, causing him to loose his footing slightly. He managed to remain standing.
"Wow! That was close Todoroki-kun! Now you're getting it!" Midoriya gleamed with delight and pure joy.
Bakugo threw another explosion right at Midoriya, careful to miss Todoroki. Izuku dodged (Again) but this time responded to the explosion differently. He threw a small blade, that soared through the air and skimmed Bakugo's costume slicing the fabric and his skin slightly. Rich crimson seeped out of the thin slice and began to drip down the blondes arm.
"You missed me." Bakugo growled readying another explosion.
"I wasn't trying to hit you. If I was that blade would've been right between your eyes." Izuku was facing away from Todoroki and towards Bakugo, just to taunt him. Shoto saw his chance. It was the villain boys first mistake. It was a chance, but...
He hesitated.
What good would this do him? He couldn't hurt Midoriya even if it wasn't the same boy. He just couldn't. It wasn't something he saw to be possible, but he knew the boy wouldn't give up until they were all like Kirishima.
"Next time I don't think I'll miss though. This game is becoming boring to me. To easy, like childs play." Izuku's voice was care free and lazy as he pulled out yet another blade.
And with those words being spoken form the young villain boy he decided. Hesitantly he closed his eyes , and a wave of ice shot towards the evil boy, who turned just in time to witness his leg being swallowed by the the thick crystals of ice. He hissed upon the contact of the sudden cold engulfing his sensitive human nerves.
"Fu-u-uck!" He laughed surprisingly with a shaky smile while the knife tumbled out of his glived fingers. "That's colder than I though it would be." He smiles at Todoroki. It was a proud, normal smile.
"Well, guess you got me. This really sucks. It was supposed to be my debut but I guess I overestimated myself." He shook his head sadly and stood there weakly. Katsuki was kneeling next to Kirishima trying his best to cover his wound, while todoroki dealt with Izuku.
"Where have you been Midoriya?" Todoroki asked with his usual tone of voice.
"Ugh I hate that name. It doesn't really fit anymore, Ya know? But whatever, you do you."
"Answer my question." Todoroki stated sternly.
"Hm? What question?" Izuku tilted his head to the side and smirked.
"Where. Have. You. Been." Shoto said slowly and forcefully. He needed answers before he turned Izuku in.
"Oh I see. You want to know some things before you turn me into the authorities because they won't tell you shit, will they?" It was like the green haired boy had read Shoto's mind. "Well, my kill count is moderate, about 47 or so deceased victims, none of those murders were tied to me though. That's not counting people I've injured mentally and physically. I've been in a pretty shitty place mentally if that's what you're asking. you know, with all these psychopathic thoughts and intrusive memories of the people who used to care about me but clearly don't anymore, but other than that, fine. How're you anyway?"
Shoto twitched in the bubbling annoyance.
"Just answer the damn question!" Shoto's left side flickered with flames as his eyes sparked with anger. Izuku smiled and shook his head.
"Oh Shoto Todoroki, you dare use that kind of tone with me? I can snap you like a twig. Even though you claim to be nothing like your father, you're just like him. Look at you." His voice was soft and light. The words poured through his lips gracefully. "A monster of burning hate and destruction. A so called hero using their quirk to produce fear filled answers. Shameful."
Todoroki's flames died immediately and he stumbled backwards as if he had been hit. His eyes were wide and shocked at the words that had just left the green haired boys mouth. He felt his chest tighten and the air leave his body.
"You were never anything to me. Only a monster in denial. A person who doesn't care. A person who doesn't feel. You have no remorse and no regard for the rules. When will you spoiled, power driven people realize the world isn't about you?" The boys voice doesn't match the words he is speaking. His words were harsh and stabbing but his tone was quiet and calming. It's a mind trick.
"Oh that's right, you won't. You are unable to learn that other people matter. You are unable to find other people that matter. No one matters to you, do they Shoto? Just another piece to your twisted abomination of a puzzle you put together and tear apart at will." With every word Todoroki could feel himself being stabbed and cut. No one else seemed to hear the soft words being spoken. Katsuki and Eijiro didn't notice. It was just Izuku and Shoto.
Izuku quietly and calmly stepped out of the ice hold that was been melted slightly form Shoto's burst of flames.
Izuku walked over to Shoto, who didn't move, and grabbed his shoulder firmly putting his face close to his. The green haired boy's face was serious and deadly.
"Listen to me closely Shoto Todoroki. Absorb my next words and let them be burned into your mind forever, just as deeply and boldly as the scar you bare upon your face." The boys face was merely and inch away from Todoroki's.
Izuku placed his lips right next to Shoto's ear so only he could hear his words.
"Hide behind your perfect little mask, but I can see it cracking and crumbling. The tighter you grip onto it the more repulsive you become. You become a more revolting person." He steps back from todoroki and sees his broken expression.
"Don't look at me like I'm the bad guy. You know it's true. It's better to be hurt by the truth than comforted by a lie." He said with with a tilt of his head. "No hard feelings, right Todoroki-kun? Maybe next time you'll talk to me a little bit nicer."
Izuku brushed his black gloved hand softly against Shoto's left cheek before turning away without another word.
And once again, Izuku Midoriya disappeared again with only his words echoing.
This time, it was he who walked away. And this time, It really was Shoto's fault.
It was all his fault.
