At breakfast I knew dad had apologized. I mean does he really think he can hide his emotions from me. Ha. I'm not his coworkers I'm his daughter. I'm glad he did, now Ryan and I will get to school early. Normally when she's grounded we...well she ends up late. I wouldn't want to go without her if they hadn't resolved this.

At school we got silent stares. But I didn't care anymore, I'd yelled on my dad. It was so unlike me. I felt like a new girl. Me being Ryan's sister already got me popular. I may be smart and prissy sometimes, don't tell Ryan, but I do know how to make a name for myself. But probably not like Ryan does.

I was rudely pulled out of my thoughts by the intercom. "I would like to interrupt your morning to announce that preparation for the Spring Fling has commenced. Any and all people on the committee who have not reported have twenty-four hours to inform us if they will be able to participate. If not you will be removed. Anybody who wishes to join the committee is welcome to do so. Thank you."

That perked me up even more. I might be a nerd but I always get decent dates to dances. The only problem was who I would pick if more than one ask me. I was just thinking this when I heard someone calling me.

"Hey Riles wait up," the voice said. "Hi Noah," I smiled to him, aka my best friend. "You heard the announcement right?" he asked stopping to walk beside me. "I don't think anyone in the school hasn't heard about it," I said, "Who are you going to ask?"

He shrugged trying to remove his shaggy blonde hair from his face, "I don't know. I'll probably go solo." "You always say that but you end up going with someone," I said unconvinced. He shrugged it of, "Who are you going with?" he asked turning the conversation back to me.

"I honestly don't know," I said then gasped. Noah turned in the direction of my gaze and his jaw dropped.

"That is possibly the most badass boy I've ever seen," he said, "How'd he end up here?" "I don't know and frankly I don't care," I said, "I'm taking him to the fling."

Noah scoffed,"A goody two shoes like you getting the bad boy, yeah right." I shoved him,"I will. Boys love me no matter their standard," I said confidently, "Its like Ryan and I attract boys but whatever even if he doesn't come with me he's going to be my friend."
