To Kill a Mocking Jayy
Jacob's POV
I felt like I could murder someone.
I wanted to murder Matty.
I could've.
I should've.
It was lunch and I was sat with Taylor, eating pasta salad.
I took my phone out and texted Syn.
'Hey Uncle Bri, could you take me to Jayy and Dahvie's place after school? I need to talk to Jayy about something.'
I got a text almost immediately after.
'Sure, anything in particular?'
I debated whether or not I should tell him the truth, but I knew he would just say no.
'Nothing in particular, I just need his advice.'
"Is everything ok?" Taylor asked, taking a bite from her apple.
"Yeah. Nothing to worry about." I smiled.
Then I got a text from Syn.
'You're not hinting that you're ready to come out of the closet and you need Jayy's advice on the best way to tell us are you?'
I gasped at his text and was tempted to openly face palm in front of Taylor, but I knew she'd ask and I didn't want to have to lie to her.
The gasp was bad enough...
"What's up?" Taylor asked.
I looked at her and chuckled.
"Nothing, just something unc-Syn said."
~~~~
The bell had rung and I couldn't have said my goodbye to Taylor fast enough.
I hugged her and kissed her cheek, said a quick 'bye' and ran to Uncle Brian's car.
"Slow down there, kid. You'll sprain something the way you came at the car like you did..." Brian chuckled.
"Can we go now?" I snapped.
Brian sighed, but nodded, putting the car into the right gear.
~~~~
I told Brian to wait in the car and that I wasn't going to be long.
I ran to the door and knocked, sternly.
Dahvie answered.
"Hey dude, haven't seen you in ages. What-"
"Where's Jayy?" I more said than asked.
"In the kitchen, why what's u-" Dahvie didn't have the time to finish his sentence as I was practically in the kitchen already.
I saw Jayy and started running towards him, my fist ready to fly.
When it did, it hit his nose at amazing speed, blood flew everywhere before I had my hand even a centimetre away.
"Dude, what the fuck?!" Dahvie gasped, running to Jayy's side.
Jayy pushed him away, obviously knowing what I was so mad about.
"It's ok Dahv. I probably deserved that one." He winced, clutching his nose.
I scoffed.
"Probably?"
"Ok fine. Yeah. I messed up. I knew Matty was with Taylor, but I couldn't help myself."
"Couldn't help yourself? He's fucking ten years younger than you!" I yelled.
"Guys, what the fuck is going on here?" Dahvie asked.
"Ask your band mate." I said through gritted teeth.
All eyes were now back on Jayy, who was shuffling in his spot, still holding his dripping nose.
"You know Matty, Jake's best frien-"
"Ex best friend." I interrupted.
Jayy sighed.
"Yes. Well he cheated on his girlfriend Taylor with me."
Dahvie looked stunned.
"Fuck that. No way. You wouldn't let something like that happen. No way." Dahvie stuttered.
I nodded.
"Oh he did."
