Becoming Session Musicians

A/N: Hey guys! Just a little note before the chapter, would you guys mind watching the video above? As I'm sure many of you know, I'm the singer of One True Lies. The video is of a solo gig I did a few months ago, covering many songs, including this one which is Paramore's 'Misguided Ghosts'. Watch and tell me what you think down in the comments? Thank you all in advance <3

- Gee xoxo

After Taylor had calmed down and all was well, the rest of Black Veil Brides had got to know her a little and all was running very smoothly.

"So did you wanna get some recording done? I'm sure everyone would love to hear your voice." I chuckled.

Taylor shuffled uncomfortably.

"I'm not sure I can with my idols here." She blushed.

"Just think of us as normal people, because that's what we are. Just a couple of normal guys who spend a lot of time with Ashley and CC." Jake laughed.

Ashley pouted. "Dude. We can be normal when we wanna be. Ain't that right CC?"

"Yeah!" CC stood up, punching the air above him, making us all laugh.

"Alright, alright. I'll do it. I wanna record this one first." Taylor pointed to a page on the coffee table in front of us.

The song was called 'Let It Bleed (The Crimson Rain)'.

I looked over the lyrics and handed them to Andy, since he was a professional.

"Taylor these lyrics are awesome." He smiled, looking up from the page.

"You really think so?" Taylor asked, bewildered.

Andy nodded.

I love the emotion that the words alone contain. I can't wait to hear you sing it." He replied.

"Do you need any session musicians? We'd be happy to help out." Jinxx smiled.

"Oh my God, that would be awesome you guys." Taylor beamed. "For this song, I'll need CC, Ash, Jinxx, Pitts for producing if that's cool and... Shit..."

"What is it?" I asked.

"Andy could you do the back up vocals for me? I planned on female back up's but there's no one here to do it." She asked the singer.

"I can ask around if you want." Andy suggested.

I gave him a look that said 'don't you fucking dare' because it was clear as to who the first person he was going to be on the phone to was going to be.

Andy shook his head.

"Nevermind. I can't think of anyone that everyone would be comfortable with because of certain reasons. I'd be happy to do it."

Taylor smiled. "Awesome, thanks Andy."

"No problem."

We organised the instruments and where everything would go, then Taylor entered the recording booth with her guitar.

Jake sat at the mixing desk and put on some headphones.

"When you're ready Taylor." He smiled, giving her a thumb's up.

She nodded as Jake pressed the button to record.

Taylor was mainly using power chords, throwing in 'E minor', 'G' and 'A' chords when she felt necessary.

Her solo was amazing... Enough said.

When she was done, she came out of the booth, earning an applause from her small audience.

"That sounded badass." Andy smiled, offering her a high five, which she accepted.

"Thanks guys. But it wasn't that great." Taylor blushed, rubbing her upper right arm.

"Are you kidding? I'm actually jealous of that solo." Jake laughed.

"Aww thanks Jake."

Taylor turned to CC and pointed at him.

"Your turn." She smirked.

CC patted his legs and stood up.

"What needs doing, boss?" He asked.

"You saw I went with a 6/8 beat? Basically just go with that." She shrugged.

"Sounds good. Permission do do the occasional fancy ass show off shit?" CC chuckled, making the rest of us do the same.

"Fuckin' go for it." Taylor laughed.

CC punched the air and jogged into the recording booth, sitting on the stool behind the already set up drum kit and slipping on the headphones.

Taylor pressed the button on the mixing desk that allowed CC to hear her.

"Wanna do a little of that fancy ass show off shit before the guitar intro starts?" She suggested.

"Are you fucking kidding me? Of course I fucking do." CC laughed.

Jake pressed the record button and CC did his thing.

The drums were tracked bit by bit. Intro, verse, pre chorus, chorus, bridge, solo etc.

When he was done, it was Jinxx's turn.

He stepped into the booth and set up.

The recording was simple for Jinxx as all he had to do was play the same thing as Taylor had, bar the solo for which he played the chorus bars.

Next was Ash.

Ash followed the chord progression for the guitars and played around with them to 'spice up the sound'.

Taylor then entered the booth after Ash had left. She clutched her lyrics close to her.

Jake pressed record yet again and when it was time, Taylor started singing.

You could tell the lyrics meant everything to her.

The ones that stuck out most to me actually stung.

'There's every reason to Let It Bleed.'

'I just want the Crimson Rain to fall.'

'Never let them take what they haven't got.'

'There's a special place in Purgatory for you.'

I guessed the song was about a past love or something, but I had many ideas.

When she was done, Andy went in and put the headphones on.

"Ok Taylor, what needs doing?" He asked.

Taylor pressed the button for the microphone so he could hear her.

"Could you come in on the pre chorus, do all of the chorus and then a few bits on the bridge. The rest just mess around with." She said.

Andy nodded. "Awesome."

He sung when she wanted him to and messed around very little.

He came out and shrugged. "It didn't feel like it needed tampering with."

"This song is going to be so cool." I laughed.

"I know right?" Taylor beamed.

An hour had passed as we were letting Jake have some time to edit and put everything together. When he was done, he turned around in the swivel chair he was sat on and smirked.

"You guys have to listen to this." He said, pressing play.

We sat in silence, listening to the finishing product.

To say it sounded badass would have been the understatement of the century.

It was incredible...

When the song was over, we applauded each other, hugs being given all round.

Taylor hugged Jake tightly round the neck.

"Thank you so much Jake. It sounds perfect." She mumbled into his hair before parting from him. "And thank you everyone. This wouldn't have happened without you."

She then moved to me and hugged me round my neck.

"Thank you more than anyone for this." She whispered.

I smiled and hugged her waist tightly.

"You are more than welcome, beautiful."

She parted from me and blushed.

There as an awkward silence for a few moments before CC spoke up.

"Oh for fuck's sake just ask the girl out!" He cried, flailing his arms.

I looked to Taylor for a split second, noticing that the blush hadn't left her cheeks.

I probably looked exactly the same.

"Thanks a lot CC. I was going to do this later but oh well." I sighed, feeling in the spotlight - which I hated. I turned to Taylor once again and sighed heavier. "CC's right. I actually should've done this before Matty got involved, but I was too shy. I really like you Tay. You're beautiful, talented and really fucking smart. And I guess I was wondering if you'd be my girlfriend?"

Taylor looked at me in shock.

"That would be awesome, Jake." She smiled, hugging my neck once more.

We parted a little, still holding each other and I pressed my lips softly against her's, earning whistles and claps from the band surrounding us.

I finally had the opportunity to call her my girlfriend...
