《79》
The guys didn't stay too late because they insisted on letting everyone rest early.
It felt really weird saying goodbye to them at the doorstep. They seemed a bit hesitant when hugging me and didn't try to kiss me. I knew my parents were peeking in to watch behind my back as clearly indicated by the boys' brief glances behind me before zoning back onto me with small smiles.
Taehyung was the last one to say goodbye and he held me as tight as he always did which made me sigh with content in his hold. I felt him bury his face into my shoulder as his arms squeezed ever tighter. It took a bit before Jin had to wrangle him off.
He looked like a kicked puppy once he finally released me and couldn't return due to Jin's tight hold on the back of his hoodie.
"We've got to go. We're going to see her tomorrow, Tae."
"I know but I don't wanna go."
My composure cracked a bit as I saw Taehyung's saddened eyes and lips jutted out in a pout.
"Oh, TaeTae... C'mere." I took the initiative to step forward and cup his face gently between my fingers. His eyes only focused on mine compared to the others' who kept glancing behind me.
"You'll be alright. I'll be fine, too. Won't be long, will it now?"
Taehyung sulkily nodded as I took mercy and leaned up to place my lips upon his.
We both automatically shivered as tingles lit up our systems. My breath was taken away as I began to press forward a bit more just to send a reassuring message through. Taehyung sighed softly and began to wrap his arms around my waist.
Then we both felt a hand upon our foreheads and were instantly separated.
Opening my eyes automatically in shock, I see my father standing between us with his arms crossed and a tick in his forehead.
"Honey, no! They were being so sweet! Get back in here!" My mom instantly stormed up to my dad before gripping his ear tightly and forcefully dragging him back inside as he kept saying 'ow' and trying to intimidatingly cast a look between me and the guys.
His intrusion was short lived as the door was slammed shut and we were finally left alone.
It was only a couple seconds of stillness until I smacked a hand upon my forehead in dismal and apologized with, "I apologize for my parental units. I thought I warned them to 'be cool'. I forgot they don't understand anything."
"Don't blame them, sweetheart. I like your family."
I glanced up but immediately noticed all the guys trying to hide their snickers behind their hands.
"Yeah, yeah. You guys should go before it gets too late. Thanks for being so, uh, cooperative with them today. I again apologize if they made you guys uncomfortable."
"You shouldn't apologize for anything. They are your family and we should be the ones apologizing in case they felt uneasy around us. They truly are pleasant people to be around and don't even worry about our impression on them. We'll try harder to be in your dad's favor and make friends with your brother. Your mother was so kind, as well. You have a lovely family and I'm glad to see that."
I was at a loss for words as Yoongi was the one to speak up rather than Namjoon. The others looked at Yoongi with awe and slight concern but nevertheless nodded in agreement.
"You shouldn't be standing out here for too long, it's cold. You should have at least worn a jacket." Jin tsked as he removed his own fluffy jacket from his shoulders. I was about to refuse since I'll literally be inside within three steps, but he already wrapped it around me snugly.
"You look so small in that, y/n. And cold, I'll help with that."
Jungkook immediately stepped forward and grinned as he slipped his arms through the thick jacket's arm holes and hugged me tightly while swaying us to an unknown beat.
My face thumped against Jungkook's warm sweatshirt and could hear his heart beating fast.
"You brat. I should've done that!" Jimin walked up to us and hugged me from behind. I was enveloped in warmth and couldn't help but roll my eyes as they began to bicker over my shoulder.
"Quit being immature and let's start loading up. We still need to check in to our rooms and unpack a bit. Move it!"
Both of the boys grumbled as they let go and eagerly placed their lips upon mine in a farewell. I smiled brightly at each of them before the others came to retrieve their kisses that they had held up on earlier.
Once Namjoon finally let go of me, all the guys finally entered the vehicle. We may have taken a couple minutes more to talk about tomorrow's plans and safety on the trip to the hotel, but they finally started the engine when they noticed me shivering a bit.
Waving them goodbye as they drove away from my house resulted in me having a fit of giggles. I didn't get an opportunity to wave significant other(s) away during my high school years and to do this was like a check on an unlisted bucket list.
❀♡❀
Upon entering the house, I found my mom still scolding my dad about loosening up.
I sighed as I stepped further into the living room and gained both of their attention. Slowly crossing the room and sitting next to my dad on the couch, my mom decided to announce that she was going to go to bed a bit early (but it was also code for 'you guys should talk').
I don't know where the younger brother was located, but I assumed he was already holed up in his room filled with teenage tendencies of isolation.
"So..."
"So."
"I do know about that trip you'll go on next week."
"Yep."
"Awe, don't be like this. You only speak in one worded sentences when you're thinking too much."
He cocked his eyebrow at me as I stuck my tongue out childishly.
"My first time being back in awhile and this is how you greet me? By being extremely judgy around my soulmates and not saying much?"
He let out a low huff before I noticed his gaze soften as he looked back at me.
"It really has been awhile since you left for college huh, kiddo. I remember when you first entered school and wouldn't let go of my leg because you were so scared. Where's that y/n that I knew depended on me?"
"I'm all grown up. Maybe not fully, but I'm definitely getting to the point where I'll fully be capable of caring for myself and living my life on my own. You know I've been craving this independence since forever, that's why I got an apartment rather than staying at the dorms after all."
"Yeah, yeah. You always complained about us dictating too much or whatever."
"It's not whatever, dad. You know that. I understand that you've always been protective over Haesuk and I, especially me since I was your first born, but I really think I'll be okay. Those guys that are my soulmates are seriously good guys. They wouldn't hurt me."
"Didn't you insinuate something earlier."
"I can't lie to you, pops. And I won't, but what I was explaining was that earlier in the year there was simply a misunderstanding over a seriously stupid rumor. Uh, as I said, college drama is what we'll call it."
He looked me in the eye for a solid couple of seconds. It's as though he was searching for something, but he eventually let out a huff and looked away.
"Fine. I won't have you elaborate and I understand. I'll try to stop being so dubious. However, consider that I haven't seen you in months and to see you back with seven guys as soulmates? Cut me some slack when I say I have my doubts."
"I get that, but I also want you guys to have a good connection. Can't you trust me when I say that they are good guys? Can you treat them nicely and at least say more than one worded replies in a steely voice?"
He cast a stern glance at me as I immediately pulled off a puppy look. He looked away before glancing back again and scowling.
"It still works after how many years?"
"Eighteen and counting! Thanks dad."
I hugged his arm as he grunted and kept his eyes on the television. I watched as his eye and nose twitched the longer I stared.
Suddenly he brought his free arm up and began to wildly ruffle my hair. I cringed as I backed off immediately and he smirked triumphantly.
"Can't make any solid promises you know... but I'll try. You better go sleep."
I stood up and smiled at him as he continued to keep up his strong front.
"Alright, I'll take it. Night... old man."
I let out a snicker as I heard him call out my name behind me in mock anger.
Reaching my old room, I sighed as I found everything exactly where it was. There wasn't much dust anywhere and it looked well kept. I smiled softly as I noticed some things were unpacked already, most likely from my mother's work.
Feeling a buzz from my pocket, I took out my phone only to already see a couple texts come in from the crackheads I call my boyfriends. Giggling to myself, I huffed as I began to scroll through them and respond.

Over the course of days, you could play it back like one of those films showing hilariously random moments between my family and the guys.
Highlighted moments may consist of my mother being charmed by Jin's cooking skills, Hoseok's bright personality, and Jungkook's adorable bunny smile.
Or the embarrassing moment when I found out that my mother had secretly showed all the guys my baby photos in the family album.
Or finding my younger brother laughing obnoxiously loudly as he cussed out the stunned maknae line while playing some multiplayer battle royale game.
Or some may laugh at all the moments where the guys looked nervous in my father's presence over countless embarrassing moments such as Namjoon breaking a china plate by accident or Yoongi caught napping on the grass outside.
It was quite an eventful week. The guys were still a bit tense around my family members but they've learned to loosen up and connect with them which brought a smile upon my face.
My father especially kept to his words. He still crosses his arm when he confronts one of them, but he has tried to hold a conversation. The guys still meekly reply though, even with the effort from both ends. Countless times I've had to jump in to save them when it got too awkward to watch.
Currently it was the last day of the trip already. I had already packed up and my family was getting ready to go out to lunch in a cute restaurant that we all liked. The boys would meet us there and it would be like a last meal before we leave.
"Hey y/n!"
I pulled down my sweater and looked over to see Haesuk covering his eyes near the door to my room. Rolling my own eyes, I announced that I was dressed.
"Okay, so anyway do you think I can have your boyfriends' numbers?"
I shot him the most 'what the fuck?' expression ever as he crossed the room and flopped onto my bed without a care. He looked at me and shot a sheepish grin as he hugged one of my throw pillows.
"They're really fun to play online with and pretty, uh, chill. Not half bad either. I was just hoping I could, um, stay in contact with them so I could text them to play whenever they have time."
He blushed as the complement and questions rolled out. I quirked my eyebrow teasingly as he nervously avoided eye contact.
"You're trying to steal my boyfriends' attentions now? And you also admit that they are 'chill'?"
"I mean sure. Maybe. I guess." I let out a light laugh at his cute attempt to brush off his admiration. Crossing the room and taking a seat next to him, I gently ruffled his hair as he automatically complained and brushed my hand off.
"It's been awhile since you've seen me and you want to hang out with my soulmates more than moi?"
"I mean, yeah?"
I instantly tackled him and tickled his sides as he stuttered out laughs and was strong enough to fight back and get my hands to stop.
"No fair! When did you get so strong, huh?"
"Ah, so you noticed? Might've been working out here and there. Nothing much."
He sat up as he brought a hand up to scratch his chin but also indiscreetly flex his small arm muscles.
"Uh-huh? Who are you trying to impress? Oh? Does my little HaeHae have a crushie-wushie?"
"Ah, no! Leave me alone!"
He immediately tried to get up as I grabbed hold around his waist to keep him here.
"No! What is their name, huh? Their number? Parent's contact information? Social security number? Bank account number?"
"Sh-shut up! Ah this is why I don't ask you for anything!"
"You at least have to have a picture of them! I demand to see it now or so help me I will tell Jungkook to never play Overwatch with you!"
"Hey! That's not fair." He stopped his attempt to run off and immediately turned to me with a pout and a whine. It reminded me of back when he was a little kid. I felt nostalgic as a soft smile appeared on my face and I reached a hand up to pinch his cheek.
Just as he's always done, he brushed it off with a light scowl.
"You're being weird. Stop smiling like that. You look stupid."
"Don't be such a twerp, I'm your big sister!"
"Sadly."
"Hey! I swear I'll tell mom and dad about those playboy maga-"
He immediately covered my mouth with his hand and I slapped it off.
"Ah gross! Who knows what you've done with that hand!"
"Hey! Stop it!"
"You two better not be arguing. It's time to go!"
We both turned to the door to see my mother standing there with a loving smile as she gazed upon the two of us.
"She started it!"
"No, he did!"
"Nu-uh."
"You two better not start again!" We gulped as we heard our father's voice from a distance away.
"Let's get going. Haesuk, you need to wear a jacket. Come with me."
Haesuk petulantly complained as he followed our mom out of the door. I jumped up and walked towards the living room since I was all ready and all my bags were already assembled there.
I found my father standing there and looking at my bags with his back turned to me.
"Hey, pops. How's it hanging?"
Swiveling around, he flashed me a slight eye roll as I grinned and neared.
"It's like when we first sent you to college all over again. I can't believe how much has changed. You weren't even supposed to find your soulmates until you were, like, fifty!"
Now it was my turn to roll my eyes as he let out a playful huff.
"Yeah, I'm surprised how long it's been since I've last been here, huh." He simply nodded and we stayed in silence for a few seconds just looking around the room.
"You doing okay over there? You don't need anything?"
I smiled as I shook my head at his inquiry.
"I'm doing perfectly fine. I already updated you about how great of a job I have and how well my academics have been. The boys also really helped with the transition."
"Those boys, huh? Well, I'll just say that perhaps... they aren't too bad."
"Oh? What does that mean?"
"You know what that means and I won't repeat myself. I just warn you that although your mother would love grandchildren, I would appreciate it if we wait until after college, missy."
My face instantly heated up as he shot me a stern look.
"Of course we'll be careful. Don't be so blunt."
I looked away as he let a chuckle ring out throughout the room. We both heard my brother and mother's voices bickering down the hall and that eased the tension in the room a bit.
"Just know that if they hurt you, don't hesitate to call because I won't waver in tracking them down."
"Dad!"
"Are we ready to go, honey? Kids, let's load up!"
I let out a defeated sigh as my dad led the way out of the door with his head held high.
❀♡❀
Tears edged near my eyes as I hugged my brother tightly as he squirmed in my hold and screamed that I was harassing him.
"Shut up, runt! I'm trying to love you!
"Ah! No let me go! Rape! This is rape!"
"Don't joke about that, idiot." I immediately flicked his forehead as he took his chance to escape. As soon as I lost my grip on him, my hands squeezed on empty air as a pout formed on my face.
"Baby, don't be like this." I recognized Yoongi's voice as he lightly wrapped an arm over my shoulder and leaned forward to appear in my line of sight. He shot me a teasing smile as he brought a hand up to lightly wipe away the water that edged near my eyes. We shared a soft smile before we were interrupted.
"Give mama some sugar!" I turned to see my mom walking towards me with her arms outstretched. I instantly tugged away from Yoongi as he gave me a light nudge forwards.
Entering my mother's warm embrace made me feel so much lighter as a grin tugged at my lips and I snuggled further against her chest. She cuddled me close and began murmuring sweet words and warnings regarding safety protocols and what to be wary for. After her spiel went off too long, I began to struggle to get out of her grip, but she locked her arms in place and continued sweetly.
"Mom~ We have to go!"
"Remember, men aint shit."
"Mom!"
"Run along now honey! I'll definitely send lots of poor quality photos of the trip over the week and bring a souvenir for you!"
I shoot her a blank stare as she smiles brightly and prods me to the car which was all packed up behind me. Turning, I see the boys huddled around my dad as if they were preparing for a football game or a make-shift concert.
It was interesting to see them simultaneously nod to whatever my father was saying. I couldn't see any of their faces, but the comedic bobs of their heads made me let out a snort.
"Alright. Drive safely and if I hear one complaint from her, so help me I will track each of you down no matter who hurt her and I will chop your dicks o-"
"That's enough! We have to go now!"
I forcefully ripped my father figure away as the boys furiously nodded and slowly backed away while covering their crotches.
"Okay sweetie. You keep these boys in check, you hear me."
He pulled a complete 180 as he flashed me a sweet grin and even brought me into a warm bear hug.
"Make sure you keep them in line and be safe. You've really grown too much and I can't believe you're slipping from my grasp, my first mistake."
"Hey! You know I'm the best thing that's happened to you. Haesuk was your first mistake."
"How dare you! I'm dad's pride and joy, you were the guinea pig."
I turned and shot a threatening glare towards my brother who already crossed his arms defiantly and stuck his tongue out.
"Both of you are going to be the death of me. Alright, you gotta get your tush outta here. We have to pack too you know."
"Oh yeah. Have fun with whatever business stuff it entails, and don't worry about me too much. Worry more about whatever future Haesuk might have in store, however dim it may be."
"You really wanna fight, sis? Square up!"
"Alright. Off you go before you both begin again." My dad released me from his hold and laughed as I playfully punched his chest.
"We'll see you next break. I expect a good five star review on those guys."
I shot a confused look towards the others but they immediately bowed and then shot up with thumbs up.
"Yes, thank you for our stay here Mr. and Mrs. Choi."
"Boys, I said call us mom and dad!"
Seokjin nodded and corrected himself based on my mom's suggestion by saying, "Er, right. Thank you mom and dad. We'll take care of y/n and treat her with utmost respect."
"As you should. I trust you guys."
My dad nodded in approval and although I didn't think much of it, I saw each of the guys' eyes suddenly shine as they bowed once again with small smiles.
I don't know what they've spoken with my father about, but I definitely need to pester them later.
Soon after, we once again loaded the cramped vehicle and my mother made sure to give each of us a light cheek pinch before we drove off.
Seeing my family disappear as the distance grew, I couldn't help but let out a sad sigh as I once again had to leave them. This time though, I felt a light tug on my hand and was met with the smiling faces of all the guys.
"Your family was amazing. I can't wait to see them again."
I grinned as I cuddled into Jungkook's embrace while the others happily voiced their agreements.

A/N: Forewarning, this is really unedited but hehe. I really cut this family week short for length's sake and because I don't want to add too many moments. I know not all families are the same and I definitely didn't want to define a family experience for you guys but it was still a segue into character development. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and weren't displeased with the outcome of it.
Question Time! What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
I think everyone should try drinking water. I care about ya'll and you need to stay hydrated. I also think you all should sit outside and watch the sunset if possible. It's really nice and relaxing.
What the heck? We passed 800K and I missed that? Thank you all so much for 33K votes as well. I can't believe you guys are so sweet. Till the next update 💜
