《76》

After an hour of panic and stress over freshening up, picking a nice outfit, and contemplating just how I've ended up in the situation I'm currently in,  I decided on wearing a very stylish dress that was a mild maroon color. It was a step out of my comfort zone, but it was modest enough to be eased in. My foot couldn't stop tapping the floor out of anxiousness as I mindlessly scrolled through games on my phone to pass the time and ease up some of the anxiety that's been building up.

This of course didn't help at all as I couldn't even focus on the game when my eyes continued to flit between the game, the clock, and the door.

Shaking my head, I stood up instead and began to nervously pace. My heart started to beat faster as I thought about going out with all of them. This whole day has already been really nice but I still felt nervous.

Knowing this was still technically our official first date as soulmates, this hit differently than getting ready every other time we hung out. I kept smoothing down my dress as I paced around my living room nervously.

Seriously, I've gone to dinner with them before. I'll be fine!

The doorbell rang sharply over the tensely quiet atmosphere. At least for me it was tense and it became hundreds of times more strained as I felt a sense of dread flow over me like a tidal wave. All the pep talk I've mentally chanted in my head to reassure that everything would be fine blew straight out the window as my head whipped towards the door in alarm. Shaking my face and tapping my cheeks, I rushed over to the door so they don't have to ring again.

Placing a firm grip on the handle, I took a huge breath before robotically turning it and inching it open outwards. I shuffled a few steps forward and I shut my eyes tight as a pang of anxiety filled me with the realization that my soulmates were 99% likely to be on the other side.

Finally opening the door open wide enough, I forced my eyes to open as they immediately looked into the eyes of another.

Namjoon's eyes held a look of adoration but a hint of nervousness. My focus jumped over to his outfit which soon widened as I took in all of their appearances. For description sake, they all wore a variation of suits, amazingly styled hair, and stood around the entrance of my door with looks that prepared to walk down the red carpet.

Seven finely crafted men in suits in front of my door. I could faint. Oh, I think I will.

A snapping brought me back from my illusioned distress as I saw Hoseok lean back next to Namjoon.

"Ready to go, beautiful?"

I gulped as I meekly nodded in response. Seokjin grinned as he took the initiative to step forward and gestured for me to grab his arm. Doing so, Taehyung scooted forward and allowed me to take his other arm before both escorted me towards the elevator.

I cast a small glance behind me and noted how Yoongi had shut my door while Jungkook and Jimin widely grinned at me. Hoseok and Namjoon whispered something to one another as Yoongi caught up.

"Wherever shall we bring you?" Taehyung wiggled his eyebrows as I raised one of my own

"I don't have a clue. Unless I could get one?"

"The weather has been quite pleasant today, don't you agree Jin-hyung?"

"Why yes! I suppose it has been!"

I grumbled under my breath as we entered the elevator and I petulantly released my grip on each of their arms..

"You guys are no fun. I wanna know!"

"Really? I had no idea!" Jimin laughed behind his hand as Yoongi and I playfully glared at each other from opposite ends of the cramped elevator. Once we arrived at the garage level, it must've been quite a sight to see a group of dressed up people clamber out.

"Oh y/n, we're going to split cars so you'll ride with me." Hoseok grinned as he stepped forward and pulled me towards him by grabbing my hand.

"Don't forget about us hyung." Jimin excitedly followed behind with Yoongi silently trailing.

"We'll meet you at the location!" Hoseok nodded at Jin's reminder before pulling me towards one of the vehicles. I let out a huff due to the clandestine word choice.

He let out a low chuckle as he swung one of the back doors open and gestured for me to step in. I ease my way in and gingerly take a seat just as Jimin slid in besides me. His eyes lit up as he caught sight of me before suddenly leaning in.

I tensed immediately as I vaguely noted the other two getting settled in the front seats. Jimin charmingly winked as he brought his hand up beside my face. My eyes couldn't help but wearily watch his face as a smirk tilted upon his lips. He leaned in closer so we were inches apart and this caused me to shut my eyes automatically and unconsciously slightly pucker my lips.

However, instead of the tingly sensations I expected to feel, I heard a zipping sound and the seatbelt securely wrapped me in place. I shot my eyes open as I saw Jimin focusing on clicking the belt in place before looking up and letting out a small laugh.

"You're so adorable."

My shoulders immediately slumped as he turned and began to buckle himself. A small pout formed on my lips as I cast a glance to the front and captured Hoseok's amused eyes through the mirror.

"Are we all buckled?"

"Yes! I made sure y/n was as well." Jimin gave two thumbs up as he threw me another wink to which I scrunched my nose in mock distaste.

My eyes were blown wide as I tried to tilt my head up and see the true height of the building.

They brought me to a very expensive restaurant located in downtown Seoul. I was left flabbergasted as soon as they pulled up to the building and casually allowed valets to park their cars.

Hoseok took the initiative to bring me out of my awe as he grabbed my hand and lurched me forward to follow the others who were already walking up the fancy steps.

The entrance already held a look of extreme extravagance by lighting up the aesthetic name of the restaurant font, the grand marble steps, and the large windows which showcased beautifully elegant dragon statues.

This was too much already.

It wasn't long before we were ushered in and I dumbly followed the group as I gaped at the amount of luxury showcased in every corner. The sheer amount of well-dressed men and women that we had passed made me feel so under-dressed. I knew they said formal attire, but they didn't mention that they actually meant royal attire.

I couldn't stop admiring everything, from the attention to the ceiling and lighting all the way to the flooring design and shine, this was somewhere I'd never imagine to be able to step foot in.

Hoseok brought me to a stop in front of a sliding door that the waitress graciously opened and revealed a large dining table in a private room. She led the way in and began to set menus on the table efficiently before bowing.

"Here you are Mr. Kim, I will be back shortly to take your orders."

Namjoon dismissively nodded as she curtly straightened and exited the room.

The others began to take seats while I simply watched nervously to see where I should sit.

"Come sit here." I timidly released Hoseok's hand and stepped over to where Namjoon had pulled out a chair and waited for me to sit. As soon as I did, he slowly pushed the seat forward towards the table and placed a light peck on the side of my head before walking over to the last seat which was opposite me.

"What do you think?"

"I- how? How did you guys even make reservations here?" I looked towards Taehyung in concern as he raised an eyebrow in challenge.

"It's not impossible."

"I just can't believe you actually brought me here."

"Well, of course we had to have seen your reaction." My face instantly dropped as the others snickered at my once overwhelmed expression.

"You can order anything you'd like. Trust me, we've been saving up for awhile." Namjoon winked before he picked up the menu and began to scan the content. The others followed his lead as I shakily picked up my own menu and opened it.

My eyes instantly zoned in on the prices rather than the food items. Wow. I can't afford a single thing on this menu, much less the bottle of water. Just a meal would cost me my groceries for the week.

A nudge from besides me caused me to look over to Jimin. He leaned over and pointed at a fancy dish before asking, "Do you think I should order this? I'm not sure if I want this or this..."

I look at him with a concerned expression because damn those prices are higher than my IQ level.

His eyes twinkled mischievously as I gulped between the two options. They both looked delicious but I wouldn't waste my money on that.

"How about I order one and you order the other? Then we can share!"

"Oh no, I was planning on the uh-" I began to frantically flip through my menu and find something that seemed to be at a fairly decent price. All I caught sight of were numbers that were sizzling in my brain.

"Y/n, these dishes look so good though! Please, can you order one of them for me? We'll pay anyway."

"No, I can't possibly. I'd rather order-"

"Pretty please?" Jimin took my menu and set it down before flashing me with a begging look. I hesitated but his eyes widened innocently and his pout stuck out.

"I guess."

"Yes! Thank you, snookums."

"Snookums?" I burst out laughing as Jimin joined me.

"What! I am dead set on making you cringe over all the names I have compiled over the years because the others refuse to let me call them these." Jimin whined cutely as I covered my mouth with my hand to internally aww.

"Challenge accepted, honeybun."

"Don't get too embarassed now, cinnamon roll."

"Don't get flustered, mochi."

"Well now, I would advise you not to-"

"What would you guys like to drink?"

We both looked up and saw the waitress smile at us tensely as the others watched us with clear mirth. Jimin and I both coughed and turned away from each other awkwardly.

The service was very efficient as the food had arrived within minutes and it tasted amazing. The boys made sure to entertain me the whole time and it was a bit ironic for us to be acting so childish and obnoxiously loud in a professional establishment filled with those of the higher class.

I snorted when Taehyung accidentally spilt some of his drink on Jungkook's lap and proceeded to teach a life lesson rather than apologize. Thank goodness Jungkook was wearing a black suit or else the stain may have looked pretty funny.

"So y/n, how are you liking the food?"

I glanced over at Yoongi who had sat silently the entire time. As the others continued their spiels, I smiled and replied, "It's amazing! How can you afford this- tell me the truth."

He smirked and seemed to mull over his next words before replying, "It's not much of a secret... but all I would say is that our income may correlate with family affairs."

At my confused expression, he continued, "You'll understand when you meet our families, but please don't be too overwhelmed."

"What is that supposed to mean."

"Who knows?" Yoongi shrugged with a sly expression as I leaned forward with a scrutinizing expression.

"You do, bit-"

"Language!"

"But Jin~"

"Profanity is not tolerated in this household."

"Overly muscled coconut rabbit hybrids aren't either, but Jungkook is here."

"What! I wasn't even part of the conversation!"

"Oh look at that, I need to use the restroom. Please excuse me." I abruptly stood up and stuck my tongue out at Jungkook's outraged yet confused form before skipping out of the room.

Of course the bathrooms were just an excuse, but it actually took me a bit to find the restrooms, which were near the end of the hall of private rooms, because I just didn't know which room they were. Or apparently because I missed the large sign reading 'Bathroom' about twice by walking past its obvious statement, however the real reason is really unknown.

Walking in, I was blown away by its luxurious state. The sinks literally sparkled and the actual toilet shined. The toilet rolls were set elegantly and the paper towels to dry your hands were of really good material. I honestly just observed the bathroom to waste time since it smelled so heavenly and nobody was in anyway.

By the time I washed my hands for the second time just for the feeling, I finally stepped away from the pristine mirror and headed for the door. Opening it, I was surprised to be pushed in at the same time.

I was about to fall onto the immaculate tile flooring before a hand wrapped around me and caught me abruptly.

Surprised, I made eye contact with none other than Seokjin.

"Wow. That's the second time you technically 'caught' my fall."

He let out a nervous chuckle as he helped me stabilize myself before rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Sorry, again. I came to check on you because I wasn't sure if you got lost around the restaurant and you also left your phone at the table."

"So that's why you are violating the women's restroom?"

He tensed up immediately and a vibrant blush painted his cheek as he looked away.

"N-no! I was just going to peek in and call out your name to see if you were here!"

I let my smirk grow as he looked at me with pleading eyes to understand.

"Uh-huh. I'll believe you I guess... or I could tell the others you totally tried to gain entrance and get a peek."

"What! Don't you dare missy-"

"I'm so glad we got to escape from those guys. Ugh- they were such a bore."

❀♡❀

Jin and I tensed up as we noted the voice of a female and clacking footsteps nearing too closely. The men's bathroom was a distance away and the oncomers sounded too close by. If Jin and I walked away now, we'd look like we were doing things in the bathroom to which the females may report us.

There was one technical option we could take, but the thing is I didn't initiate it.

Jin grabbed my hand tightly and shoved us both further into the ladies restroom and dragged us to a stall near the back.

As soon as he shut and locked the stall doors, the bathroom door opened and the nasally voices of both women complaining filled the air.

"Jin what the fu-"

Jin immediately covered my mouth with his hand and pushed me against the back wall lightly so as not to make much sound. I only whisper-yelled so the two girls didn't seem to take notice as we both heard the females continue to whine and open makeup materials.

I shot Jin a glare over my covered hand as he looked down with a furrowed expression too. He leaned down to my ear and whispered, "What did I say about cursing?"

My eyes widened ever so slightly as he leaned back and looked over his shoulder, as if that was a good indication of showing whether the bystanders noticed our presence or not.

I was seriously getting tired of Jin's hand over my mouth so I shot my hand up and removed it. Jin looked down with surprise as I whispered, "Seriously? You're overreacting, they won't notice any-"

"Shut up. They'll hear you!"

"I'm a freaking girl though! I'll just say I was on my phone. If anything, you need to shut up."

"Did you just tell me to shut up? Did I hear you tell me to shut u-" Jin's voice grew too loud in volume and I noticed the two girls seem to pause in conversation for a moment, so I could only do what I could think in the moment.

My hand would be too slow to raise and cover his mouth with... so I used my own mouth to do the job.

His eyes widened as he froze while I looked back with a furrowed expression. Our moods didn't last long because I suddenly felt euphoric from the tingling sensations and the churn deep within my stomach which sent butterflies scattered about. My eyes fluttered on their own accord as I couldn't help but push myself forward when the unexpected bond formed.

He seemed to mirror my actions by slightly tilting his head to deepen the kiss and lightly wrapped an arm on my hip to keep my grounded in place.

I was slightly aware of our company, as was he, so we didn't make much sound, but we couldn't seem to pull away either.

I let out a breath of relief when I heard one of the girls continue her spiel and partially at the feeling of having Jin around me and feeling so right.

I don't know how long we kissed, but I eventually had to back off for air. Once I did we both covered our mouths to try to keep our heavy breathing at a low volume.

Behind our hands, our eyes lit up with mischievous glee at the formation of the bond in a somewhat scandalous situation.

"They just texted asking what's taking us so long. Let's go back and get this over with." One of the females let out an exaggerated sigh as I heard the sound of a compact case snapping shut.

"Fine."

Jin and I exhaled as soon as we heard their steps nearing the exit and the door opening.

However we seemed to flood the relief in too soon once we heard, "You two aren't so slick. You're lucky that you both were the most entertaining thing all night."

With that the door shut and Jin and I looked at each other with frozen, shocked expressions.

Jin let out the first chuckle, followed by me, before we both burst out in a fit of giggles from the news.

"Dang, guess we have to be more careful next time."

"Next time?" I looked at Jin quizzically as he shot me a wink and replied, "Sure. This was fun."

I watched him step out of the stall in awe as he let out a low whistle.

"This bathroom sure does look nice, but this wasn't what I actually wanted to observe."

"I knew it! You are a perv!"

"Just ask Namjoon to see his personal flashdrive from 2012. He'll understand what that means and if he turns red, take a picture for me. We better get going, don't want to actually get caught and dessert is probably served."

I followed Jin out as he held my hand and led us confidently to our table while exuding a self-possessed grin that I felt in minimal waves deep within.

A/N: I'm back! I still don't feel fully satisfied with this chapter, but I hope you guys enjoyed it at least. It's like the longer you stare at a selfie, the more flaws you see in it and eventually don't want to post it.

I don't know why, but recently I've grown more self-conscious and doubtful about this story. Perhaps it's the growing amount of people and supporters or because there is just something that's telling me that this story definitely isn't the best, but I am definitely trying to push through and be satisfied. It's weird because before I literally wung it and never expected this much attention (as I've mentioned in a previous chapter 😅) but now it's like I have a responsibility 😭. Don't worry, I want to do my best for you. I'm definitely not forcing myself to because I want to. Thank you for all your support. Jesus, I love ya'll 💜.

Question Time! Sorry for being a week late on the update, but are you guys someone who's early, on time, last minute, or normally late?

I think you know what I am 👀🤡
