《63》
It was an awkward moment of silence as I shyly glanced away from the boys' prompting stares. It was overwhelming to suddenly be in all of their presences.
"Hey y/n." Jimin's soft voice permeated throughout the room and it sounded soothing against my ears.
"H-hi." I glanced up to see the guys still crowding around my door.
"So... what's going on here?" Namjoon asked for the group.
I tensed and noticed Yoongi tense as well.
"Well- I left my keys!"
I instantaneously facepalmed at Yoongi's obvious panic.
"Hyung... you don't use keys." Jungkook crossed his arms in confusion.
"What are you actually doing here?"
"Well I- You see... You know what, you answer them." He lightly tapped my shoulder and gave me a half-hearted shrug.
"Wha- Hey! You were the one who said you'd handle this!"
"No, I said I had an excuse. You were in charge of plan B."
"No I wasn't! You're supposed plan A should've been foolproof. You failed right away."
"Yeah so now it's time for plan B. Initiate it now!"
I nervously glanced over to the guys to see some of them shaking their heads and others looking even more confused.
"You guys are the worst at lying." Namjoon let out a drawn out sigh as he dragged his hand down his face.
"I never checked the 'really good liar' box in the gene pool selection sheet. I was randomly assigned these damn traits." I threw my hands up exasperatedly as Yoongi let out a choked cough to hold in his laugh.
"Is this really what our conversation has come to?"
"Ah geez! I don't even know. Go home, I need to rest." I dropped my hands and pouted.
"Hold on, answer our question. Why are you here Yoongi, and why did you both miss all your classes today?"
Yoongi and I met gazes and silently urged the other to speak.
"Yoongi. Answer the question." At Jin's demand, Yoongi instantly gulped and looked over to the group who took a couple steps further into my living room.
"I- well. I apologized. And I fell asleep."
"The details you gave were so realistic and vivid that I can almost imagine the whole scene play by play!" Jimin sarcastically spoke and even waved his hands in the air in a mystical way to increase his mockery. Yoongi rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. I noticed he does that a lot when he gets defensive.
"He really did. We both accidentally fell asleep last night."
"Are you sure?" Jin gave me an apprehensive look to assure that I was telling the truth. I nodded in response and he let out a breath.
"That's good. That's good." Namjoon mumbled under his breath as he stared at the two of us inquisitively.
"Does that mean you've made up yet?" Taehyung's hopeful voice reverberated through the air as he took an excited step forward.
"Ah, well here's the thing. Look, I realized that there were misunderstandings and rushed actions taken throughout these past weeks." I took a breath as all their attention was solely focused on me.
"And I know that you all are trying your best to apologize to me." They all seemed to subconsciously lean forward towards me.
"But I think that the only way to make it up towards me is to prove you mean it over time. I understand that you are all trying, but I don't think I can fully forgive you guys right away. For now, I think we should just resume to where we were before this mess. However, I'm going to have more freedom. If I so choose to hang out with the girls, I will. Let's all just settle on friendly interactions as we did before. We're all technically adults, so let's resolve this maturely."
A hush of silence was left among the air and I tensed as I waited for their response.
Slowly, though, I noticed them starting to nod in acceptance and once Jungkook and Taehyung nodded (since they were the last ones to silently agree), I let out a breath.
"Okay. We agree to those conditions. We'll respect your space." Jin answered for the group as they all let out gentle smiles or softened gazes.
"D-Does this mean we can sit with you in class?"
"And that you'll join us in the cafe?"
"And that you can hang out with us after school?"
The maknae line spoke one after the other and held hopeful looks. I couldn't help but sigh at how eager their postures were.
"Yeah, I can. However, I still plan to spend my lunch with my other friends. Please understand that bit."
Taehyung eagerly nodded before taking a couple steps forward.
"Can I hug you?"
I bit my lip as I thought about his request. However, I couldn't help but nod.
Taehyung's eyes brightened and he instantly took the few strides over to where I was before scooping me in a bear hug.
Taehyung hummed into my shoulder before whispering, "I really missed this. Thank you."
I tentatively brought my right arm up and lightly wrapped it around his waist in response.
I missed this too.
"Can we join?" I glanced over to see Jimin standing right behind Taehyung and the others a bit closer than they were before. I didn't hear him silently make his way over nor the others shuffle forwards.
"I- I guess." Jimin's eyes lit up and he zoomed behind me before wrapping his arm around my waist above Taehyung's. More arms and weight suddenly piled around me as the others joined in. It felt a bit suffocating, but looking at all of their heartened faces made the hug feel ten times warmer.
I noticed Yoongi standing a bit to the side as he watched the group. His eyes met mine and I gave him a questioning look.
He simply shook his head and raised his hands in a 'no thanks' gesture, but I know he wanted to join. I slightly tilted my head, inviting him to join. He once again shook his head, and I glared at him.
'Get in here or so help me.' I mouthed to him and he lightly rolled his eyes before slinking his way over. He hesitated behind Jin, who was hugging around Taehyung, but then Jin seemed to sense his presence and slightly turned to Yoongi. Jin didn't waste a second before Yoongi was tugged between him and Hoseok to join.
Yoongi was forced to nestle behind Taehyung as Jin squeezed him in. Yoongi looked uncomfortable, but when he glanced over at me, I shot him a gentle smile.
His eyes widened before softening and then turning away to blush.

It's been a week since I've agreed to make amends with the guys. It was nice being able to be in their presence again. It was as it was before, my routine being that I spent my time after English and Computer Science in 'Dimples' with them. They continued their usual antics and bantering and it was always fun to hear their topics of debate.
However, I noticed a sense of clinginess from the group, as a whole. Some showed it more than others, but all of them held a sense of wanting to be near me.
I noticed little details in the changes in their behavior towards me and I don't know how to feel about it.
Taehyung was the easiest to pinpoint as he instantly became more cuddly and close.
I had already told the girls what happened as soon as I finally got all the guys to leave my apartment. Most of them were apprehensive about my decision, but ultimately accepted it. If I thought it was a good idea to let the guys back in, then they accepted what I chose to do. I honestly couldn't wish for a better friend group than them. They've always been so understanding and stood by my side. I seriously needed to treat them all to lunch.
Back to Taehyung, he showed a change in behavior as soon as the day started. Once I arrived on campus, I found him standing near the front of the parking lot with his hands in his pockets and already focused on me. When I walked close enough, he bounded the short distance over and briefly asked if he could have another hug, I hesitated because of the amount of people around, so I politely declined, yet his face fell so quickly that I almost said he could. Instead he instantly morphed his pout into a smile as he nodded and asked if he could hold my hand to lead me to art.
I nodded at that and Taehyung gladly took the opportunity. He lurched me forward as he dragged me to Art. When we arrived, we were still a bit early.
He made sure to pull out my chair for me in the spots we normally sat at. He politely pushed it back in before eagerly setting himself on the seat next to me and beginning his tangent on a random subject he instantly thought of. The rest of the week, he acted similarly. He stayed close and he was always polite.
The only part I felt conflicted about was that now on, he always asked to make sure I was okay with him touching me before doing it. I felt the distance between us now that he couldn't freely hug me, but I also felt his effort to respect me and I appreciated it.
Jungkook and Jimin both had similar tendencies. Both boys seemed to banter more often about sitting next to me. It was like watching two children arguing over a toy. They were very sweet when speaking to me, but they seemed to grow more competitive and jealous of one another. They still allowed the others to sit next to me occasionally, but seemed to always challenge each other when the chance became available.
Through this, both always offered me their assistance in anything. They would often ask if I needed anything and I never do. Well, now I know that I shouldn't ask at least.
Only once had I requested a cup of water. It wasn't two seconds later before they were clashing heads at the register trying to get my drink first. I know they mean well by trying to assist me, but they kept making it a challenge which bothered me.
Hoseok seemed to be buying me more desserts. When I stop by the cafe, he has a dessert or drink prepared. He always orders two orders, one for himself and me. He said he has wanted to try more of a variety from the menu and begged me to join him. I felt as though he was wasting too much money on it, but he insisted.
I felt like it was his way of showing more involvement. He did show affection by sometimes holding my hand, but with these treats he brings me, I notice him always watching my reaction anticipatingly. Like he wants me to approve of the item of choice and praise him, which I normally do if the treat does taste good. But then again, most all of them did and it was fun to experiment with the menu too, so I honestly didn't have much of a problem with it other than the price.
Several times have I offered to pay, however he paid the majority of the time. The thing is, he relented a couple times too, and it was small, but I actually appreciated that even though he was stubborn more often than not.
Seokjin made sure to keep track of my health and watched out for me more often. He became more protective of me in a sense and cared for me more. He brought my lunch again even though I always left during lunch. He saved it for the end of the day and gave it to me if I was hungry. He always insisted I eat and keep up with all the nutrients I need.
He often asked me over to join them for dinner by shooting me a quick text, but I always declined because I didn't want to invade. That didn't stop him from occasionally dropping off some dishes at my door and always leaving a note saying that he 'made too much'.
At the end of the day, I noted that he always kept up to date with the others' assignments to see if they needed to work on it and he made sure they got it finished. He started to inquire about my assignments and began to remind me to work hard on them and that if I needed anything such as snacks, refreshments, or a buddy, I could always ask him no matter how late.
Namjoon was a subtle thing to note. I caught on after the third day. He purposely attempted to prolong our conversations. It wasn't an obvious change because we normally spoke a lot, however I noticed that he constantly spoke up when he had the chance. He respected my conversations with others, but he talked more often with me.
I only noticed because he was rambling about the proper way to survive during a zombie apocalypse. He had brought up this conversation when we exited 'Dimples' on our way to our last class. We stopped in the middle of the hallway so that he could continue before we had to part ways. It wasn't until I zoned out and noticed that the hallway was empty that I noticed we were late. I freaked out and immediately told him that we had to go. He apologize profusely before we both booked it to our classes. Apparently I was late by five minutes and it was awkward as soon as I stepped into the classroom.
During the time sitting there during the lecture, I had recalled that Namjoon rambled a lot and often encouraged me to keep going when I spoke.
Yoongi was a tough one to tell. We continued to secretly show affection by holding hands and hugging. Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook all openly let out their affections as well as some of the others on rare occasions, however Yoongi wasn't one to openly show it.
He didn't speak much, but I noticed him often letting his vulnerable side show when showing affection towards me. He never ranted about his stress, but actually tried to encourage me to let out my thoughts when with him. He was a great listener.
His way of getting comfortable with me was listening to me. Although I was hesitant to speak at first when he first brought it up, it wasn't long before I began to speak about whatever slight thing bothered me. I never went too deep, but he listened to all the silly little things that I spoke of, such as one time when I ranted about a mother who held up a fast-food line just because her child didn't get the toy they wanted even though the restaurant had run out of them.
I honestly enjoyed destressing with him because he often gave small hums to show he was listening and then would give his intake at the end. He always recapped what I said and it goes to show that he had listened to every word.
They all were trying in their own ways to build their relationship with me, and I could already feel myself growing accustomed to their presence.
