《48》
Sunday wasn't as eventful because I didn't get a chance to see the guys at all. I'm surprised how much of an impact they had already made in my life because I already felt like I missed them when I have barely known them.
At work, I completed my training and Solar complimented my ability to learn quickly. I already made connections with regular customers and the pets. Solar gave me my paycheck early even though I haven't even completed a full week of work. She said she is proud of my dedication and says that I deserve the paycheck. I thanked her profusely before leaving at the end of my shift.
Jihyo and Mina had invited me to go shopping with them and their roommates today. I agreed since I already finished all my assignments and didn't have any plans. After quickly changing at home, I met up with the girls at the mall and we had a fun time window shopping.
By the time I returned home, I had several bags in my arms and was exhausted beyond belief. This whole week I have always been doing something each day and I guess that took a toll on me. I slept early and that was basically how my Sunday went.
❀♡❀
Several weeks have passed by since the first day of college. Throughout the weeks, I have definitely grown closer to the 'Bangtan Boys'. I've just grown accustomed to their antics and it seems the general population of students from the campus have accepted the fact that I am allowed to sit with them on my own free will.
There were a few problems that came from girls confronting me about the boys, but they were handled with one or more of the guys always backing me up. It was weird how they instantly knew when I felt troubled and helped me handle the situation.
I've also grown closer to the girls, who I learned call their group 'Twice'.
My only real problem was that I noticed that I was starting to stray from Jennie and her friends. I rarely have made any contact with them except by greeting each other when passing in the hall. Sometimes I miss Jennie's presence, but I honestly haven't missed her that much. Don't get me wrong, she was an amazing friend in grade school, but I felt that our friendship was more of a necessity because we have been childhood friends... and she was really the only friend I had.
My parents knew hers from high school. They reconnected when dropping Jennie and I off at school one day and since then we were forced on playdates. We got along just fine, but it felt more artificial than anything. Jennie had always been pretty popular because of her beautiful physique and fun attitude. I liked to stick more to the side and had good connections with everyone, just not close ones.
In high school, I more or less ignored the general population because I was working hard to improve my education and learn more about computer coding. I didn't have that many friends, and I was fine with that, but Jennie always stuck to me and I am grateful for her.
But I could feel that it was more out of pity than anything.
I'm partially glad that she doesn't stay with me because I could tell it was a bit of a burden for her to stick with me sometimes. She always brought up the idea of me socializing and befriending more people, but each time I responded by saying that I was fine how I was. Now she could stick with her own friends without having to drag me along and I'm happy she can.
Perhaps that's why I feel so overwhelmed with my friendship with the 'Bangtan Boys' and 'Twice'.
However, Jisoo has spoken to me a lot more lately. The thing I noticed was that she always seemed to slip in an inquiry about the boys. I answer as best I could, but it's not my place to really tell details about them. As suspicious as it sounds, I think she only asks purely of curiosity like every other girl around. I guess the guys are pretty private about their lives.
Currently, I was on my way to 'Dimples'. Computer Science had ended and Jisoo and I had a light conversation before parting ways. It was Monday and I was exhausted.
Upon entering, I looked around for the group. They still have been switching seats and I just go with it. I found them at a large high table with several high chairs around it. Yoongi was reading something off a paper, Jimin and Taehyung were playing on a Nintendo Switch, while Hoseok and Jungkook were holding a conversation. Once I took a seat, several of the guys said their greetings and I returned them. Like normal.
But all good things can't quite last. Can they?

After Namjoon and Jin had joined the table, everybody just settled on light conversation and resting after classes.
"Y/n, want to come over and play Just Dance?"
"You're only asking me over because you always win at that game Jiminie."
"What! Me? Asking you to join me in a game just to boost my self-esteem and ego while laughing at how you always end up in second place? Never."
Jungkook let out a chuckle before mentioning that he can beat Jimin in the game.
"I didn't ask you to come over now did I. I asked y/n because I enjoy her company, of course."
"Right... I actually can't today because I have to go grocery shopping. My food stock is running low and I have children to feed."
"Children?"
"My stomach. Wait that sounds worse. Look I just need to feed myself."
"Oh, we can come with!" Hoseok piped up.
"Ah no, that's okay. You guys don't need to shop just cause I am." I had to buy sanitary pads and I wasn't exactly keen on them knowing.
"Hey! Jin-hyung, don't we need to go grocery shopping too?" Hoseok brightens up and asks.
"I don't believe so last time I che-"
"Actually yes! Taehyung finished the milk this morning and Namjoon broke the coffee machine again. We don't have a spare since he broke that too and you know how Yoongi gets in the morning without coffee. Let's go shopping now."
"You're right, Yoongi is terrifying. How about we join you y/n on the shopping trip. I can even help you with some good sales on ingredients!" Jin agrees. What. How did he. Now they are coming with me?
As I am questioning the situation, I see everyone stand up and pick up their items. After they are ready to leave, they all stare at me just blinking at the table.
"Hey y/n! Let's go! The grocery store may close around 10 and that's coming up real soon. We need to get a move on silly." Hoseok states while shaking my shoulders a bit.
"I mean, you guys really need groceries at this moment too?"
"Sounds like it." Namjoon responds as he grins at my dumbstruck expression. I sigh in defeat and grab my backpack before standing up. Hoseok and the maknae line all grin widely at me as the other three are already making their way towards the exit.
Oh c'mon. I mean it's not bad to hang out with my neighbors, but lately I've been struggling with the fact that they are already really close to me and I may get too attached. I shake my thoughts away and notice we are already nearing the parking lot.
My attention goes straight to the sky which is already a staggering sunset with bright rays of the last sunlight, for today, dancing across the sky. Intense oranges and pinks dramatize the area around the sun and span halfway across the sky before turning to a mild blue. I paused to take in the beautiful view for a few seconds before catching up with the guys who were waiting for me near the curb of the lot.
"The sunset is breathtaking today, isn't it?" Namjoon states with a small smile and I nod.
"Since you brought your scooter, we'll just meet you there." I replied with an 'okay'. They left to their vehicles as I briskly walked over to my scooter and started the engine. Leaving the campus, I make my way to the agreed market and wait for the others by the entrance.
At least I packed my wallet and shopping list before leaving this morning. I lean on the wall by the automatic doors of the shop while looking over my list. If Jin knew about a few good deals and sales then that would be perfect. I hear footsteps walking near the entrance and glance up to see the guys making their way over. Once they near me, I follow them as they enter the store. Jin and I grab carts as the others start exploring the isles on their own.
I followed Jin throughout the store as he helped me with my grocery list and showed me several items that were on sale. He was very good at navigating what foods were good to buy and what items were not a good deal. The others would occasionally stop by and add an item to Jin's cart and they would start bickering over the item. Sometimes Jin would give in, other times not.
Jin joked around with me as well when I got tired of pushing my cart around the produce section in circles because Jin kept going around to look at different products.
"Fine, leave your cart by the avocados, help me push my cart."
"Oh, now I have to push your cart? What an upgrade!" I sarcastically announced as I start to push his cart forwards. He suddenly came up behind me and put his larger hands over mine on the cart.
He leaned down and whispered, "Put your feet on the bottom bar so you don't drag us behind with your small legs." I looked up at him skeptically and he grinned. I put my feet on the bar and this caused my back to brush against his chest as he suddenly pushed forward.
"Jin!" I laughed as he sped through the produce section. He laughed loudly behind me and I looked up to see his joyful face. I noticed his taller frame towering over me like a giant even though I was off the ground a bit. He looked down with a smile, still walking fast.
His hold suddenly tightened on me and I couldn't look away from the soft look in his eyes. He leaned down a bit and I tensed. And then...
