The Farm

It was pouring rain and everyone was grumpy and wet.

"When do we set up camp?" I asked over the pounding rain.

"As soon as we reach the forest!" called Adam back to me.

We trudged along and soon, we reached the forest. The treetops were thick and the rain dripped down the branches.

"We'll keep going until nightfall. Then we stop," said Mitch. Adam nodded. Everything seemed so loud after all the pounding rain.

So we continued riding. We were about to set up camp when we saw an abandoned farm house.

"Look! That's where we'll be staying tonight!" Adam cheered. Gratefully, we rode towards the barn. We dismounted the horses and put them in their own stalls, which were much nicer than the crummy ones we used to have.

"Where do you think the former owners are?" I asked as we walked to the farmhouse.

"I don't know. All I know is that this place is warm and dry and nobody lives here," Adam said. "Wait here."

We were standing on the porch by that time. Adam slowly pushed open the door and looked around.

"All clear," he said.

We walked in and started exploring. Thalia went upstairs and looked at the bedrooms while Ian and Ryan went to the kitchen. Bashur and I went to the living room and Adam and Ty went to the basement. Bashur looked for some flint and steel while I got some wood from the shed in the backyard.

I came back in and placed the logs into the fireplace. Soon, there was a warm fire in the hearth.

"Everything looks good down here!" called Ty from the basement.

"There's some food in the kitchen..." said Ryan.

"There's also some barrels of food in the basement," Ty said, coming up the stairs.

"The fire is started!" Bashur said happily.

"There are enough bedrooms that everyone can have a room with one roommate," Thalia said.

"Okay, so we'll decide our roommates over supper," said Ian. Everyone nodded in agreement and we went to the dining room. Ian handed out fish, crackers and water bottles. We ate and decided our roommates.

"Okay, roommates. Ty and I are roomies," said Adam. Ty nodded and took a bite of fish.

"Mitch and I," said Jerome.

"Ryan and I," said Ian.

"Austin and I," said Bashur.

"And I'll get my own room!" smiled Thalia.

We finished up our meal and separated into our own rooms. My room had two beds in it and a side table. At the end of each bed, there was a small chest. I opened the chest and to my delight, found a some clothing in my size. There was a red t-shirt, blue jeans and a pair of black boots. There was also a brown helmet.

"Hey Bash! There was armour in my chest!" I called. He looked at me with surprise and looked in his chest.

"There's some iron and a stone sword in mine! Cool!" he said, pulling the sword out and examining it.

"It's in perfect condition! This is my new hunting sword," he said. He tucked the sword into his backpack and went back to bed.

"Night, Bash," I said, pulling up my covers.

"Night, Austin."

I woke the next morning and stretched. I sat up and put on my new clothes. I walked downstairs and sat down in the living room with a loaf of bread. Thalia was sitting by the fire, tending it.

"Hey," I said.

"Hi Austin. You're up early..." she commented.

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep," I said. "Thalia?"

"What?" she asked, turning to me.

"You know when we were leaving on the first day and you told me that you knew I wasn't a Minecrafter? Why was that odd?" I asked.

Where did you come from, Austin? I can tell that you aren't from here.

No, I'm not from Minecraft. I'm from the human world.

How did you get here?

I don't know.

Odd...

The entire thing kept replaying in my head. It had been bugging me since the day it happened.

Thalia sighed.

"My father told me these stories when I was little that one day a person would come and save us from the wrath of the end. The one he told me was The End of the End.

"The End of the End

There is a prophecy that was written telling of a person not of this world, but of another one, coming to our land. He will travel to the City of Gold and end the reign of the Ender Dragon. And in that same spot that the ender dragon took its last breath, a new king will be crowned."

Thalia finished telling me the story and sighed.

"I've pieced things together. When my father told me to deliver a message to Adam, I immediately knew that it was the beginning of the prophecy."

"How am I supposed to kill the ender dragon? I don't even know what he looks like!" I exclaimed.

"That's why we need to train you. Austin, today you'll be starting your MC training, and I know just the place. It's only a couple miles away from here," Thalia said. "We leave as soon as everyone is ready."

"Where are we going?" I asked, following her into the dining room.

"The Colosseum."
