Sans didn't want to say he was miserable, but he was bored out of his mind. Ichika didn't keep him on bedrest, but his movement was very limited. On crutches, to the kitchen to the living room. He had to be carried to his and Eijirou's room at night, but he primarily stayed in the living room on the couch.

Alphys would be in later that afternoon to give him a magic evaluation to make sure everything was working fine and Nezu would be in to test his intelligence and memory to make sure he wasn't suffering any amnesic side effects and to help him learn sign language. On top of that, he had two separate therapy appointments; one with Miss Uki and another with a speech therapist to help get his voice back. His schedule was getting to be a bit suffocating.

Don't get him wrong, he loved his family. To bits and pieces he did, but he apparently wasn't allowed to be alone. The only privacy he really got was in the bathroom. Grillby, Asriel, and Chara hung out with him in the living room. Natsumi and Ichika helped him with his physical therapy. Eijirou and him shared a bedroom, but his younger brother took to sleeping in his bed with him (which reminded him of Papyrus when he was still small.)

Katsuki and the squad refused to leave him alone when Natsumi let him go outside. The only one who hasn't been smothering him was Nova, but that was because she had to take care of the twins. She said she would bring them over the next day to introduce him to his niece and nephew.

Sans looked over at his friends. They were all goofing around a big jungle gym in the park. Katsuki and Eijirou were locked in a contest to see who could hang upside down the longest. Mina, Hanta, and Denki were all messing around under them, trying to make them lose focus. Tenya was prepared to catch them if they fell and Hitoshi was recording the whole thing.

Sans couldn't run and he wasn't allowed to go near the jungle gym in case someone fell on him. So he was stuck at the picnic table, by himself, watching his friends have fun.

??? - "You okay?"

A hesitant voice asked him from behind him. Sans was startled because he didn't hear her approach. She looked to be around his age with dark brown, almost black hair with red highlights. Her eyes were completely white with a single black dot in the middle. She stood at probably five foot seven inches. She looked confused, worried even.

Sans plastered a grin and shot finger guns at her before turning his tablet back on.

Sans - "No problems here. Names Kirishima Sans, you?"

She smiled back at him and her eyes now looked normal-ish? Brown with pink dots in the iris.

Ono - "I'm Ono Amai!"

Sans - "Nice ta meet'cha Ono. You new to the area?"

She chuckled sheepishly and rubbed the back of her neck.

Ono - "That obvious, huh?"

Sans - "Little bit. Best place to meet new pals would be the park the weekend before school."

Ono - "Heh, yeah. I'm from Okinawa. I got in on a scholarship to UA and was hoping to find some classmates to mingle with so I wouldn't feel so out of place."

Sans - "Scholarship? It's the middle of the year."

Ono - "Apparently at my old school there was a clerical error and they didn't find it until last week."

Sans searched her body language for dishonesty and came up clean. She was nervous, that much was clear, but she seemed to be telling the truth.

Sans - "Well, I guess you've found a friend."

The pink in her eyes shifted to neon yellow. Surprise and hope shone through her face.

Ono - "Really?!"

Sans - "Yeah, in fact a whole squad of friends."

Eijirou - "Bro, who's this?"

Sans huffed a breathless laugh as his friends surrounded him. Katsuki pulled him closer so their legs touched and draped his arm over Sans's shoulder. Mina and Denki were getting in Amai's face. Her eyes were back to pure white with single black dots.

Hanta - "I know you. You're my new neighbor. Ono, right?"

Her eyes went back to brown with pink dots as she smiled.

Ono - "That's right! Ono Amai! I'm new to the area and come Monday, I'll be your new classmate at UA!"

Denki - "Woah, cool! What's your quirk?"

Amai - "Library! I can touch any text based information and have it perfectly memorized for up to twenty-four hours. It never fully leaves my memory, but you know how memories work."

Sans - "I'll drink to that!"

Sans lifted his water bottle in a mock cheer before taking a swig.

Tenya - "Miss Ono, are you going to be in the hero course or general education?"

Ono - "Actually, I was hoping for the Support classes. I'm not really suited for combat, but I'm pretty good with my hands, engineering wise. But I do want to be a hero though, one specialized in information gathering and stealth."

Mina - "Oh that's awesome! Your hero name can be Librarian!"

Eijirou - "So manly, or even Record Keeper!"

Sans smiled at the scene. The new girl, anxious to make new friends after moving from her home, makes friends with eight people on her first try.

Katsuki - "Richter, you good?"

Sans shifted a warm loving grin at Katsuki and kissed his cheek.

Sans - "Never been better GZ."

Katsuki smiled back at him and bumped his head into Sans's gently.

Katsuki - "Good."

Sans savored the physical contact with Katsuki.

Katsuki - "We should go on another date soon."

Sans - "Read my mind G-Man. I'm free when you are!"

Katsuki - "We can take Eri out somewhere."

Denki - "Wha, Kacchan, who's Eri?"

Sans - "I adopted a child. Her name is Eri."

The squad minus Ono, Hitoshi, and Eijirou erupted in erupted in shocked yells.

Mina - "I'm an auntie!"

Hanta - "I'm going to get her Cellophane merch!"

Eijirou laughed and as the squad rounded on him.

Denki - "Bro, you didn't tell us?!"

Katsuki - "It wasn't our place to tell you Dunce Face."

Tenya - "Are you ready to be a father so young Sans? It's a lot of responsibility."

Sans - "I've never been more sure of anything in my life. You'll all love her, she's super cute. And she might love having a bunch of rowdy uncles and aunt around. I actually have to go. Don't want Alphys upset I missed the first appointment of my recovery process."

Sans stood up from the table and sent a text to Undyne to pick him up.

Ono - "Sans! Before you go, I wanted to give you this."

She held out a finely made friendship bracelet with blue, white and black strings and a piece of smooth blue rock with gold flecks.

Ono - "It's a piece of lapis lazuli I found in a creek. I got it sanded down and bore a hole through the middle to make this. It's a gift for my first friend here!"

Sans - "Thanks Ono, I'll make sure to treasure it."

Sans slipped it on his wrist and waited for the police cruiser.

Eijirou - "You texted Ma?"

Sans - "Nah, Undyne."

A sleek black limo rolled up closest to them. Undyne rivaled Ichika with her lead foot. Though she had an unexpected, and very flamboyant guest. Sans covered his face as the car doors burst open.

Mettaton - "Sansy! I missed you cuz! Let's hit the road, Mother is excited to see you!"

Any passersby in the park who heard the up and coming movie star, Kodo Mettaton, fell into stunned silence. Mettaton scooped his much shorter cousin into a hug and carried him to the limo. Sans's face was burning red as he was seated in the fancy car with his crutches propped up next to him. Undyne was snoozing in the seat across from him and Mettaton sat next to him.

Sans shook her leg to wake her up. She startled awake ready to fight, but was met with Sans's confused and amused face.

Undyne - "Oh hey punk. My car's out of commission at the moment and Metta offered to drop us off. I must've dozed off. Daichi's having some nightmares about his birth mom."

Sans nodded and patted her leg sympathetically. Papyrus used to have nightmares about humans under his bed or in the closet. Sans spent more than one night sitting with him until he went back to sleep. His eyes met a small snack and drink bar in the back with them. High end candies, chips, and alcohol. Grillby made alcohol to boot. He knew he wasn't supposed to drink much if at all, but Elemental branded whiskey was in reach!

Undyne - "Oh no you don't."

Undyne, ever the vigilant guard, plucked the fancy red and orange bottle from his hands before he could uncork it.

Sans - "Cmon, I've been through some shit give it back."

Undyne - "Sorry brat. Rules of the world, underage drinking is a no no."

He wanted to argue more but a text popped up on his tablet. After seeing it was Katsuki, any argument he had left died on his fingertips. They didn't really talk about anything. Just random nonsense. Katsuki was probably one of the most nervous to be away from him. Undyne and Mettaton smirked at each other. Sans had a dopey lovestruck smile on his face.

Mettaton - "That boyfriend of yours is awfully cute."

Sans shot a beaming grin in Mettaton's direction.

Sans - "I know right? Katsuki really likes your movies Metta."

Sans climbed out the limo after confirming there wasn't anyone gawking at him.

Daichi - "Hey Sans!"

Sans barely caught the red and orange blur that collided with him. Daichi was growing so fast, almost six and growing like a weed.
